Have raids that feel like raids rather fight a boss in a circle, rectangle, or a square. End console support. Open up the zones so it doesn't feel like we're playing a game from 2003. Stop having attacks needing to have their animations to finish before any damage goes out (this is why wow felt better than xiv for a long time before they fricked their game up too).

theres is nothing at all about FFXIV that makes it an RPG. you dont even choose your stats. you dont choose your abilities. you dont "go into" dungeons. you dont even level up to unlock new abilities FFXIV is a VN you play to unlock RPG features and RPG minigames
going into a dungeon and leveling up to unlock a high level fire spell is a 400 hour effort in FFXIV and there are significant steps that can be taken to make it better but wont happen because again. TL;DR- people like it being a shit PS3 game. which is fine i guess, for them

Having the raids be just renamed trials made sense thematically in Omega and Eden, but even now that we're exploring the bowels of an Ascian dungeon they still won't change the formula. Is it too much to ask to have a couple rooms of trash before the boss, even just in normal mode? Make up for it by giving the boss less health, normal raid bosses have like 3 mechanics total but still take 10 minutes to kill.
I think having a little bit of running around and exploring in normal modes is a great compromise tbh. It would really help them feel like a "place" and less like an arena I go to fight a boss in. Would have been a great place to show off more cool monsters too.

As someone who does a lot of crafting I can agree, even with ishgard making leveling the jobs braindead people just don't do it. Among the high end items on the marketboard around 75-90% are listed by RMT bots, that might sound high but it's unfortunately the truth.
You dont even make high end items to make money, leveling gear shits out so much money because people dont want to get poetics. 90 seconds of gather and crafting for upwards of 50k a piece that sells fast, its absurd.

I've been autistically trying to do pretty much everything, and in release order too, for a while, but at this point... man, I really don't care for relics or crafting/gathering whatever, among other things. Honestly I just want to go ahead and do the ShB/EW stuff I've been putting off for years, and aside from half the reason I'd started doing this which was to alleviate inventory woes (while making use of the stuff I've accumulated over the years) and use my Jobs still in levelling to do stuff at its content level, the thing mostly compelling me was all the fricking extra dialogue lines you can get from having done some obscure questline. While it'd be nice to not miss out, I'm starting to feel like it's mostly really not worth it, and if you do the "average major stuff" you'll get shit covered anyway.
Either way I feel like I'd rather move along if I could bring myself to, so 3 questions.
Firstly, while I haven't found myself caring for the ARR/HW relics, Eureka and Bozja are worth giving a shot on their own merit right?
Secondly, will I miss out majorly on anything, be it worthwhile interactions or otherwise anything useful if I skip the shit I mentioned before?
Thirdly, if I want to eventually try my hand at raidtrooning, is this feasible without crafting to sustain yourself economically? Might be a dumb question but have always been a casual shitter aside from trying a few EX and Unreal here and there so no experience in this field.

1. eureka barely has a story and bozjas is half baked. both are fun if you like traditional mmo grind
2.there is a lot of dialogue you'll "miss" if you havent done certain content but literally all of it is throwaway lines. the "omg playing as drg when you meet estinien in hw is sooo cool" is absolutely not worth going out of your way to do so
3. you'll save yourself lots of gil if you're poopsocking savage when its current, otherwise make friends with a crafter
You will have to craft or get crafted gear for week 1 raiding. Fortunately, once you are done with the tier you can just sell your loot and recover the cost of your gear plus tip, especially if you do it in early weeks.

I'd like ARR-tier maps again if possible.
Level up your jobs, you can knock them off at the same time as a bunch of other achievements from content that also has them.

I was asking this weeks ago because I had just started leveling pld. You don't even get a fricking heal or party-helping abilities till the late 60s. Its a fricking joke and really proves the point of people bashing on this game for barely being an rpg at all. Even the plds story quests are shit. Gld feels more like war and drk is the true "knight" class that fights for the people that pld SHOULD be. You can't even role play the fricking class. And this is the poster job for endwalker? Ridiculous
I feel like PLD is a storyline they genuinely should take out of the game and replace with something else.
As they've reworked jobs over the years they've really thinned out the lower levels in terms of skills and abilities, jobs feel normal once you get past 70 but they really need to push some skills down into the 20-40 range so people have literally anything to press. They've put so much effort into giving all the low level dungeons AI helpers but they forgot the actual player has little to do.
This is the biggest issue in the game. Jobs feel absolutely awful in sync'd content. I'd rather be doing the same complex shit for 10-20+ levels than slowly getting random sticker skills that don't feel complete every like 6 levels.
I wouldn't consider it a massive issue but it's definitely something to look at for the new player experience. If they eventually do go with a second starting point for the game (which they've done a poor job of setting up) then it'll absolutely need to be addressed both for the 1-90 and 90+ ranges.

all of these guys are cool except the catboy. pretty good make up of chads and twinks. add ryne and lyna and you got a good cast.
Even the Catboy has a redemption Arc. I hated him at first but came to tolerate him. I liked how a few of these guys agreed to work together and look out for each other instead of simply walking away solo after we'd completed their respective stories.

I've never played FF14, but I legitimately think the entire MMO part should just be stripped out completely. Literally 100% of all people who have ever installed the game, do it for the ERP. No one does it because they think the MMO gameplay content is legitimately fun or worthwhile, they do that shit to pass the time and to earn artificial access to outfits to roleplay with.
Just remove all of it. It's bad, it's not fun, it's stupid, and it's not good gameplay to begin with. Just leave the game as a sandbox for RP and you'll literally make way, way more money than you ever did selling a mediocre MMORPG.

The game is pandering too much to raidgays. Every mmo eventually does this and kills itself. I log in and see so many "Legends" because these are the only gays who still really want to play this game. Regular players are bored and leaving.

Only the english version of XIV has that statement and even there its less dramatic than you pretend it is. All the times she is clearly exhausted from sharing her aether or other shit like that? Thats the effect of her aether leak.
The Japanese makes it less of a "candle that burns twice as bright" and more like her battery's going to run out more quickly because she's got more processes draining it, but it's still rechargeable.
Not that that latter interpretation means too much either since she's capable of way more than she was in ARR, but it does mean they get to write scenes where she's exhausted for plot reasons.

I mean they've barely made any content this year. Even the artifact weapons was just tomestone grinding. Nothing unique compared to every other weapon. Like you do this for your usual weekly weapon. I think FF16 development slowed the team down and they ended up neglecting a lot of the game.

I like Lyse and I like that she left. It shows she actually has a life and goal beyond being a selfless hero for no real reason unlike the other scions. Thancred is my favorite Scion, but I wish he killed Ranjit, was injured and retired on the First somehow.
