If you had to narrow down magical girl powers to five themed packs of abilities, of which every girl has two, what would they be?

Go straight to jail
seethe more footgay
>CUTE
Stuff like attacking with a huge hammer, wearing excessive amounts of frills/bows, and a tendency to not be damaged by things because blood isn't cute.
>SMART
Wearing glasses, using their powers in creative and often complicated ways, using actual firearms instead of medieval weaponry.
>ANGST
Cool cloaks and chains, brooding on top of buildings, being extremely violent in combat, and ignoring damage through anger.
>MAGIC
Wearing a big witch hat, flying with no discernable means (so no wings or jetpacks) big magical circles that summon things or launch lightning/fireballs.
>RESPONSIBLE
Being slightly older than most other magical girls, having a job/school that they take seriously outside of their magical girl tasks, being relied upon by other magical girls, general competence in battle in all aspects as a return for these downsides.
I concur, this is a very good post, you merged visual aesthetics and mechanical aspects in a competent way.
SMART and MAGIC aspects can be merged into one.
I would add BEAUTY or HARMONY.
Being naturally beautiful in grown up way (as opposite to childish CUTE), using music, art and flowers in combat. Being able to heal others wounds or buffing strength.
Are we using FAE, as it seems?
make each pack a combination of an edgy emotion and a non-standard element like it was the power system of a terrible mid-00's webcomic
>anger/lighting
>disgust/wood
>fear/gold
>sadness/ice
>surprise/space
Unity, truth, agency, passion, and harmony.
I wouldn't because I think that completely misses the thematic core of the genre.
If specific powers and abilities are more important than relationships then you want a battle shounen game, not a magical girl game.
There is actually subgenres of it like Nanoha, which is something of a mix between battle shounen-shoujo.
I, for example, adore Magical Girls Raising Project ranobe series which is basically a brutal thriller mostly.
If it's not a toy commercial for little girls it isn't a real magical girl show.
Whatever, anon may want aesthetic from one genre, and plot/action from another.
Do the cors mean anything?

That's actually a ten-point paradigm, the themed packs are important but the intersections are significantly more important. The magic wheel is a good shape to start with.
Cute- Sailor Moon
Cool- Sailor Jupiter
Smart- Sailor Mercury
Passion- Sailor Mars
Beauty- Sailor Venus
I happen to already have five themes from something else:
Fire - Creation and improvisation.
Earth - Expression and resilience.
Metal - Focus and planning.
Water - Commitment and understanding.
Wood - Peace and novelty.
This is a gross oversimplification of how I do it, though. I have 5 passive aspects of time and 5 active aspects of time, and combine them into 20 manifestations. Each element gets 4 of those combinations.
Barriers/Energy Blades
Illusions/Energy Beams
Telekinesis/Explosions
Healing/Energy Hammers
Mental Manipulation/Energy Ropes
