>you don't need to have genshin installed
how does that work? install first, then delete after?
>As of this writing, the code signing for mhyprot2.sys is still valid. Genshin Impact does not need to be installed on a victim’s device for this to work; the use of this driver is independent of the game.
Because the absolute fricking state of online multiplayer gaming.
Also it's a gacha bootleg of breath of the wild, can't have people cheat in resources.
Tell me again. Why there are DRM shills on Ganker who will get all uppity when you call draconian DRM or anticheats, indistinguishable from malware?
That's objective fact.
You've probably heard at some point at how low level kernel stuff is and are vaguely aware that it's a problem for some random game to have access to it
No. You do have to run an executable, very few malicious software can infect a PC without the user inviting it in, but you don't need to have ever even touched Genshin.
>you don't need to have genshin installed

I have a phd in cyber security (I don't) and that's my best guess, residual files that are still at the root are the ones being hacked.
>As of this writing, the code signing for mhyprot2.sys is still valid. Genshin Impact does not need to be installed on a victim’s device for this to work; the use of this driver is independent of the game.
It's a nothingburger.
The malware can just bundle a copy of the anticheat and install it, it's signed so no AV will complain.
>2022
>today is 2022 + 2
>never got a virus
Couldn't be me, I don't download random .jpg.exe or .png.scr from the internet
congrats anon, (you) are the ONE (1) person in this thread who looked at the screenshot & saw that it's TWO FRICKING YEARS OLD
And people wonder why I do not play modern games. Because every day on Ganker I see another great reason to stick to /vr/ titles
Man I've been erping on /trash/ too much. Now this pov of getting fricked by a hairy daddy turns me on.
it's nuanced
>kernel anti-cheat in a gacha made by chinkoids
bad
>kernel anti-cheat in a multiplayer game made by white men
good
Both anticheats are by the same company (chinkoids).
why does a PVE only game have anti-cheat
Because the absolute fricking state of online multiplayer gaming.
Also it's a gacha bootleg of breath of the wild, can't have people cheat in resources.
i send info to beijing
I go to honkong
It's gachashit. They can't make money from rolls if you just mod the characters into your game for free.
so only exploitative trash games use it? lmao i hope this virus spreads
>2022
I'm too moronic to know which games have kernel-level anti cheat.
A pretty good rule of thumb is
>Online multiplayer
>Released after 2016
>not metioned: some moron clicking on the most obvious link to get a virus
Tell me again. Why there are DRM shills on Ganker who will get all uppity when you call draconian DRM or anticheats, indistinguishable from malware?
That's objective fact.
Because they're paid to be here silly.
>kernel
Why does this word strike such fear in me?
>Kernel, I've successfully infiltrated the innermost ring of the enemy's System of Operations.
lol homie it's popcorn
you fear popcorn?
You don't?
>Tiny little grain somehow explodes into a big fluffy thing
What else are they hiding?
ooga booga booga
You've probably heard at some point at how low level kernel stuff is and are vaguely aware that it's a problem for some random game to have access to it
I imagine you have to actully run the executable for Genshin for this to apply?
No. You do have to run an executable, very few malicious software can infect a PC without the user inviting it in, but you don't need to have ever even touched Genshin.
hows the private genshin impact server going tho
the one where you can pretty much hack rewards
