Paimon's japanese VA is Kaguya from the anime Kaguya-sama Love is War. The joke is her attempt to do an impression of the rich girl Ayaka doesn't sound at all like Ayaka and is instead her rich girl Kaguya voice saying Kaguya's catchphrase.
Japanese VAs are just in an entire other level of quality. It is not about playing it with the "original" voices, but with the most talented ones. English VAs are horrendous and Chinese ones are only meh.

That's not how it works. A lot of the kanji readings are different between the two languages and mean entirely different things. A very simple example is 了 which the Chinese use to death in every sentence and the Japanese rarely use. That's not even beginning to get into the entirely different way of speaking where China uses a lot of "sh", "ki", and "L" sounds pretty much every two words while Japan changes letters randomly like Vs to Bs, they can't pronounce Ls because it's not in their language, things like テゥ (Tu) aren't even a thing so they use つ (Tsu) instead, many of the radicals Chinese use don't exist in Japanese at all, many of the kanji don't exist in Japanese at all and even Simple Chinese uses a lot of Kanji that don't exist in Japanese, and so on.
Let me just give you some examples: >见 >败 >驰
All of these have a radical that are not present in Japanese at all.

Used to think the same since it unironically sounded all "chingchong" to me. But after switching to it and playing for a month I warmed up to it, the voiceovers are definitely a step above JP and ENG in terms of variety and expressiveness.
Accents are a largely untapped goldmine. Coomers and waifugays would go twice as insane if they experimented with accents in Genshin, but that would require hiring VAs outside of the Californian bubble which will never happen.

English VAs don't take context into account, it's like listening to a kid recite a poem by heart really well. They sound like really overly excited children who will get a pat on the head after they did their trick. You have to get into the character's skin if you want to be a good VA and you can't do that if all you listen to are english dubbed anime.
The point is that the JP VA industry is so huge and they're superstars over there and arguably globally because they're professionals in more than just the meaning of the word. Every time someone is highly excited to recommend me an english dub of a show and i try it, it's just barely tolerable.

I'm learning chinese because I figure japanese is based off of it so I'll be able to more easily learn japanese once I know a good bit of chinese
That's not how it works. A lot of the kanji readings are different between the two languages and mean entirely different things. A very simple example is 了 which the Chinese use to death in every sentence and the Japanese rarely use. That's not even beginning to get into the entirely different way of speaking where China uses a lot of "sh", "ki", and "L" sounds pretty much every two words while Japan changes letters randomly like Vs to Bs, they can't pronounce Ls because it's not in their language, things like テゥ (Tu) aren't even a thing so they use つ (Tsu) instead, many of the radicals Chinese use don't exist in Japanese at all, many of the kanji don't exist in Japanese at all and even Simple Chinese uses a lot of Kanji that don't exist in Japanese, and so on.
Let me just give you some examples:

All of these have a radical that are not present in Japanese at all.

Just focus on a single main DPS and their supports, don't spread your resources too thin
Level your mian DPS as high as you can, and for artifacts just use whatever the game gives you and slap atk% pieces on them. Level the flower before other artifacts because it gives flat attack which is the most useful for you at that level
Don't farm artifacts until you're AR45 at least, preferably AR50. AR45 is when 5 star artifacts start to appear, and AR50 is when they're guaranteed
You don't need 5 stars to get through the game, and some of the best characters in the game are 4 stars, one of which they give you for free
I turned off voice volume. Voice acting in games often become very repetitive especially with dash / attacks / skill activation, etc. etc.

The eng dub is legitimately awful like most modern weeb game dubs.
Accents are a largely untapped goldmine. Coomers and waifugays would go twice as insane if they experimented with accents in Genshin, but that would require hiring VAs outside of the Californian bubble which will never happen.
