The game is more hallway and running then it should have been but in terms of atmosphere and cool ideas the game really does stand in its own place.
Using the Wii remote to control the flashlight worked really well. Iirc there's some occasional waggle but mostly it's just pointing the torch about. I wish the game had been actually scary, the biggest problem for me was how you always knew when enemies were coming because gameplay was split up into exploration and chase sequences without overlap. Pretty great experience apart from that though. I beat it in one sitting and the ending was pretty emotional.

Why did Silent Hill get this reputation for all the enemies being symbolic of the protagonist's desires, hates, and fears? It's really just Silent Hill 2, Shattered Memories, and Downpour. The rest are all cult shenanigans and generally monsterfied victims, inhabitants, or projections of the snackrifice's mind
