I feel like some of the mistakes that this game makes people would be creating 10 min videos on youtube about them, if it was done by BF. Don't get me wrong, I like the game and have fun. But the band wagon is very strong in this one and people are ignoring any flaws.

it's not that slow; not really all that methodical once you get into the right rhythm;
frankly the "gun and movement"-play clashes terribly with the way the other elements work;
at the very least you can shoot down helicopters with rifles so they're smarter than DICE, wish they'd mimic DICE's late-in-the-day decision to copy Red Orchestra and other series when it comes to LMG's; (IE: BFV's "Medium Machinegun", you cannot ADS without a surface to deploy on);
as well as really just copying other titles when it comes to Tanks and IFV's when it comes to "Separating the Driver and Main Gunner". as that greatly helps to make tanks somewhat more balanced as it restrict their "maximum effectiveness" to those who can properly coordinate with one another.
Adding a stamina bar, getting rid of squad spawning, (forcing Squad leaders to set down spawn beacons) would also help a great deal in making the game somewhat solify a sense of a "front" forming.
having indirect and direct towed artillery is another thing I'd like to see; maybe squads that specialize just in that.
No wonder why it's being shilled so aggressively here.

Number of people in the tank is less important than actual balance. BF4 has one-man tanks and they are anything but irrelevant with decent players getting dozens of kills before dying or even more if they have a gunner, something normally only heligays get, because the tanks have a huge number of advantages over infantry.

tanks are doomed to a cycle of endless nerfs and endless buffs, unless you make them difficult?

it seems mostly like the "best tactic" is just circles-in-circles:
