idk how pvpers feel that is just something i do casually to shit on noobs once raid geared, i always felt like gear goes against the spirit of pvp anyway everyone should be equal in pvp and it should be a pure test of skill
TBC was extremely enjoyable at the time, maybe my best gaming experience ever, but the design mistakes are painfully obvious when it was released as classic
It would've been perfect if it were the only expansion pack. The silly amount of scope escalation and fan-service felt fantastic at the time but in retrospect it truly did more to doom the game than anything that came after. The world is designed like a super mario game, it forever separated "hardcore" and "casual", and its rep as being the best of the best made every subsequent expansion inherit the worst of it.
Gameplay wise tbc was great. It kept the same philosophy as vanilla wow and fixed a lot of the classes but the story did suffer. Wotlk was the beginning of the end for the game as a whole

Yeah exactly, they tried to fix it in later expansions by introducing nets you could pull players to the ground with, but I don't know of anyone that used them outside PvP streamers
flying mounts kind of ruined the feeling. otherwise it's mostly good. the issue is that you just flew over everything and made the world feel empty.

Flying mounts are often considered to be a big mistake due to hollowing out incidental world interactions (people just fly past each other)
Arenas also arguably started the esports-ization of the game which has become a massive problem nowadays
The problem is that people think they want world pvp, when what they actually want is world pvp when they know they are going to win. So of course when flying mounts came out people loved it, it saved them from being ganked.
Just another example of why pvp was a mistake and why you should never listen to people playing wow.

No, the world was ruined by their terrible world design. Legion is a good example of this, traveling on the ground was a pain the ass.

There's classes like Ret Paladin that were hilariously bad until at least WotLK. Like for the first 40 levels, you're literally judging and auto-attacking. Anyone looking back on this fondly is blinded by nostalgia.
how is that bad? would you rather have an ability that does low dmg that has a random chance to allow you to use a strong ability that has a random chance to be good if you have your 2min cooldown spell lined up with both your 2 min cooldown trinkets macrod to 1 button?
To play the class optimally, it's like 6 actions per minute. It's dumb, it's barely gameplay. There's even memes about it. They clearly put zero effort into some classes in classic game design.

Ret paladin isn't a class and classes were homogenised terribly by wotlk. Vanilla was the only time class design was good because it's the only time when they feel different. Because that's when they designed the classes. If you took today's Devs and asked them to make a new class what do they come up with? Monk and gay dragon, lmao. All they can do is take something good that someone else made and water it down for brainlet use.

as for classic+ we don't even know if it's happening. Chris Metzen is back to work on some big project but we don't even know if it's anything classic related.
Classic made me realize the true enemy of WoW was the playerbase all along and Blizzard are victimized by trying to please a playerbase that complains about everything over nothing and actively tries to ruin their experience
Blizzard is the problem for being too cucked to stand by their vision or complete lack of one. Take a look at D4. >creates open world game >immediately concedes to nightmare dungeon spergs >makes open world meaningless >season 2 further trivializes the open world
Well the open world was where they spent the majority of their resources so that's kinda a problem. They should have the balls to double down on the open world and make it better if they believed in it enough to make it in the first place.
I know. Helltide is shit after you run it for mats, boss gets melted by any proper build. Legion event is decent at lower levels, but it leads into my next point:
i lik the open world, it's like the only time you see other people
Its so you see other people with le cool mtx XD No reason to make it online only.
Kinda. The problem is that Blizzard listened to the wrong fans. They listened to hardcore players, who are a small minority of people, instead of understanding that wow worked because it was massively more casual than the games that came before. Slowly but surely wow got more and more for dedicated players and people who were already playing.
Probably the single biggest mistake they did was heirlooms. Instead of working on the levelling as whole (which would have helped everyone) they created a system for people who were already playing, and this fricked up the game for new players.
classic+ copers are unionically mentally ill
they forget that the people that were working on bfa / sl / df will be working on classic+
they think one guy whos only responsibility was lore in the game will suddenly design new features
>private server c**ts are going to veto any balance changes again >shitty specs will forever remain shit >the game will continue to be solved decades ago

just a preorder datamine that the new retail xpac island is something titan related.
as for classic+ we don't even know if it's happening. Chris Metzen is back to work on some big project but we don't even know if it's anything classic related.
>BLIZZARD IS SHIT THEY CANT MAKE A SINGLE GOOD GAME
>SIPPYSIPPYSOYSOY PLEASE BASED BLIZZARD MAKE CLASSIC PLUS
Are classicBlack folk the blackest dumbest Black folk on the internet?
>nuBlizzard releases WoW Classic+
>WoW Classic+ sucks
>modding community uses assets to make it good
More assets = more potential
classic won
Classic made me realize the true enemy of WoW was the playerbase all along and Blizzard are victimized by trying to please a playerbase that complains about everything over nothing and actively tries to ruin their experience
Blizzard is the problem for being too cucked to stand by their vision or complete lack of one. Take a look at D4.
>creates open world game
>immediately concedes to nightmare dungeon spergs
>makes open world meaningless
>season 2 further trivializes the open world
Because the open world is utter shit and the best option is to just teleport between nightmares
Its so you see other people with le cool mtx XD No reason to make it online only.
i lik the open world, it's like the only time you see other people
>Diablo 4
classic+ copers are unionically mentally ill
they forget that the people that were working on bfa / sl / df will be working on classic+
they think one guy whos only responsibility was lore in the game will suddenly design new features
>here's that thing you wanted 15 years ago, made by 2023 blizzard!
yeah, no thanks
>It's another pve shitters cry about pvpchads episode
I'm enjoying playing turtle wow. After I've had my fill of it, I think I shall try out p99.
why do you people still give blizzard money?
Retoilets should not be allowed to play vanilla.
Vanilla should also be handled exclusively by private servers.
>private server c**ts are going to veto any balance changes again
>shitty specs will forever remain shit
>the game will continue to be solved decades ago
