I'm 17 hours into the game and here are my impressions
>Story seems good, world feels real and characters seem well written
>Game lets you saveb***h way too much
>Combat is boring and feels slow
>I'm playing as a rogue and this class seems useless, maybe the main character is just useless?
>A single fight can take an hour and it doesn't let you speed up NPC moves and feels fricking slow
>80% of combat is watching slow ass enemy moves and feels tedious if there are a lot of enemies
>Everyone wants to have sex with me unlike in real life, I wonder if you can frick the whole camp
>There seem to be a lot of paths you can take, so that's cool
Overall it seems like a typical 8/10 cRPG, why does everyone on Ganker hate it and every reviewer suck it's dick so much?
SEXO
there are journalists that get paid to review games and you do it for free
let that sink in
Why is that offensive to you?
They shouldn't be getting paid.
Somebody pays someone to be a "fluffer" on porn sets. What's your point?
what is a fluffer and how do you become one?
Fluffers don't exist anymore because the availability of free porn hit the porn biz financially.
this is video games board you brain rotted tourist moron
Heaven forbid someone talks about video games on Ganker. The horror, THE HORROR!
free reviews saturate the field, thereby lowering the value of the paid reviewers
and I'm literally better at it than they are. Aint that sad.
Yeah but those reviews are actually produced to a degree.
Here we just expel opinions instantaneously without thought.
It's far harder to actually earn a living from it because you need to produce it and market it. Frick that shit. That ain't fun.
>do it for free
Which means you are free to express a honest opinion because nobody paid you to do so
>8/10
rate TotK
I played BOTW for like 20h and didn't finish it because it was empty, had no story, boring combat, boring quests, like 8 enemy types, so I'd give it a 6/10 because it didn't repulse me right from the beginning.
TOTK isn't too far off from the first one I think, so make a guess.
it took me 3 minutes to write this post
>6/10
youre alright bro feel free to post more shadowcute
Rate kirby games and Souls games
Lets see if you are based or just a moron.
>kirby games
Nintendo is not a thing where I'm from
>Souls games
The main problem with souls games is that they're pretty much the same shit, you even used the term that puts like 6 different games into a single bag, which kind of says a lot about them.
Overall if I'd have to rate the franchise as a whole, gameplay is consistently good, but after a while you learn that there isn't really that much depth to it, different builds have pretty much the same gameplay aside from playing as a wizard, so the replayability isn't really there if you don't want to play the multiplayer, and NG+ is the cheapest and most boring difficulty increase that you can do in a video game, which is enemies "do more damage and have more health", not worth playing.
Story isn't there (unless you're a fricking autist who likes to read wikipedia articles in their free time) but the locations and the atmosphere are great and memorable in most cases.
Overall a 8.5/10 since most of the games have certain issues, the worst games are Dark Souls 2 and Demon's Souls (2009) and I'd give them a 7/10, the best game is Dark Souls and it's 9/10. I didn't play Elden Ring yet.
Also the fanbase sucks because it consists of people who think they play a "hard game" unlike those filthy casuals, meanwhile it's actually fricking easy, just kind of hard to pick up at the start and I have no idea who started that whole "dark souls is a REAL game that takes SKILL and is really HARD", since that's not fricking true, it's easy to git gud and beat game.
I finished BotW and I agree with 6/10. It's the kind of game where, after it was over, I wished I hadn't bothered to play it and waste all those hours.
10/10, feel free to suck my dick.
I wish she looked like this in the game instead of the horse face

THIS IS THE INDUSTRIAL REVOLUTION OF ART. THIS IS HOW YOU USE AI ART.
I wonder how Indians feel about the fact that the main stereotype about their race is 'annoying brown shill in a call center'?
don't forget 'scammers' and 'bad coders'.
MAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA'AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAM DO NOT FRICKING REDEEM THE AI b***h BLOODY
For me one of the stereotypes is rapist. There's always a new story every month or so about a 12-15yo girl getting gangraped, going to the police and getting gangraped again by them, or they give birth to the rape baby in a hospital and get gang raped by the doctors there as well.
I can't imagine Indians having feelings.
they're happy people forgot about the streetshitting and liking now you see me 2. Those are so much more embarrassing.
As one I don't really care and laugh at it actually, stereotypes are fricking funny what can I say?
He had AI art style a decade before AI.
It cheapens his work however, not something I would ever be interested in.
if its painted over, why does it still look like AI?
I don't know, the generic AI look is an instant turn off for me.
I am not at the level of coom brainrot needed to enjoy that stuff.
paintover just means he used the ai to regenerate the parts he didnt like
I've been fricking around with AI art and shooping for so long now that I can nearly just draw the fricking thing myself, kek.

All the debate about AI and I just use it to generate hentai when I'm bored and make Goblin women.
There's 8 NSFW generals compared to the ONE SFW general, everyone is just doing it for the porn
you should choose at the beginning if you want to be straight or gay and if you even want that shit
it is dumb everyone is bisexual
I don't mind if everyone is bisexual for whatever reason. I do mind that my characters gave Gale this gay look when Gale was being flirty or something.
>Gale is staring at a hologram of a waifu version of the concept of magic
>Scene where he wants you to experience magic, it describes the experience like its a sexy girl flirting with you
>He and my male char are staring at each other with the love eyes the whole time and it has an option to go further at the end of the scene.
Literally two dudes talking about how sexy this one girl is (ok the waifu version of the concept of magic, but still) then wanting to just frick each other instead, wtf? Its pretty obvious some of these interactions were awkwardly set up to be for both sexes, just to have the option, even if the scenes themself only work with one sex for the PC.
Your fault for even entertaining that homosexual. I regret even saving him and I wish I was dark urge so I could cut his homosexual arm off. To make it worse, the fricking homosexual had the nerve, despite not even being in my party, to act like he was there during the Ketheric fight and missed his chance to blow up the absolute. I really should just kill him.
Everyone being bisexual is by far the lesser of two evils. Imagine how pissed you would be if there was a female NPC you wanted to bang but she was dyke exclusive.
yes, I wish every character in these type of games were bisexual
It's funny, because that's literally the same argument that rainbow-haired troons made about the Mass Effect games when they were seething uncontrollably about not being able to lez it up with Jack or Cora. Every character should be a bisexual prostitute with no personality traits or preferences. Just a talking inflatable doll to satisfy brain dead coomers.
What's really funny, is that when Dragon Age 2 came out, and was the first game of that type where every love interest was bi, that same crowd was whining about "gay and lesbian erasure". Which is what made them go back to set sexualities in Andromeda. They literally complained their way out of being able to frick Cora.
Rogue feels extremely feast or famine. I have encounters where I can keep plinking enemies from afar and restealthing, or the enemy will just literally spin 360 on the spot and de-stealth my hidden, obscured (I assume half-filled sun icon means obscured?) rogue the instant their sight cone hits them, not even prompting a stealth check. Either I don't get it or stealth is just underbaked atm.
Yeah, that's what I'm talking about, the stealth mechanic in battle feels random as frick.
you can't just Hide and then stand in the middle of a field, you need to have something blocking the sightlines between your stealthing character and enemies, otherwise they immediately see you unless you're in darkness
Bard can cast improved invis on himself and shoot 3 times and move each round they go to where he was and look there and never find him.
Okay, we were talking about Rogues and the regular Hide action
False, if you're lightly obscured you have to roll for a stealth check. There's nothing about cover. That's the inconsistency, sometimes you roll for a check when caught and sometimes you don't, even when you're lightly obscured. It's most likely a bug unless there are hidden systems in place.
I'm assuming it's the NPCs passive perception vs your stealth roll. NPCs with a higher wis are gonna be hard to sneak up on than ones with lower wis.
not sure about this, but assuming the enemy whose sightcone you are trying to hide in throws a perception check at your stealth, their wisdom would affect this perception check
meaning some enemies spot you easier than others
Holy shit you dumn morons
There is literally a button that shows enemies sight lines in GIANT RED COLORS, all you have to do is stand outside the red and press hide, now you can sneak around and stealth attack again. Or use any spell that obscures vision.
>Astarion with the Dark Urge cloak that makes you invisible every time you kill
Rogues are fricking stupid in a good way I don't know what you guys talking about
they are up and down, I think they are great up to level 5 then fall off because 2 attacks, then when you get gear they become good again then fall off again right at level 12.
they are enablers for other classes. My 4 rogue/5 monk is far stronger than a straight 9 monk who also went STR, and my skills look like the below because of rogue
It's not bard tier, but it's pretty fricking good for a monk multi
>500 carry weight
filthy cheatBlack person
are you moronic? I am a human STR monk. Karlach can carry 480 with 2 higher STR than me. Do I need to spell it out for you, or do you understand why you're a moron?
Don't try to argue with him, he's a d*xgay
and they laughed at humans carrying more as being useless (free shield prof, too)
>Karlach can carry 480 with 2 higher STR than me
how's that work? my frog has 20 str I think and can carry like 300 max
that can't be right, 10 str spec'd cleric can carry 280.
20 strength human carry weight max is 300
I don't know if respeccing everyone fricked things up. I just made a new character 17 str and he's got 520 at level 1.
I don't have any mods installed as if I were going to use one I would just disable encumbrance completely. Guess I am a cheater unwittingly kek
my shart can carry 170
wyll can carry 158 for whatever reason
20 str laezel can carry 250
20 str main can carry 300 (?)
how the frick a STRlet cleric can carry 280 I have no idea, barring playing on babymode difficulty
You know what it is? I am set to imperial. I switched to metric and those numbers now make sense.
LOL
big LOL moment my man
it didn't cross my mind the default was metric. Burger units strike again.
In act 3 I would put the Pathfinder games slightly above this game but I think it's excellent despite some pandering crap I don't 100% enjoy
but honestly I always just ignore that shit. Bioware games trained me well.
no scar, wheres her iconic scar, idiot
I healed it with my cum.
>Game lets you saveb***h way too much
I don't care about Baldur's Gate, but I see this type of argument used all the time for older games like Doom. I can never understand why this is ever considered a legitimate argument in any game with quicksaves. Nobody is forcing you to quicksave every 0.25 seconds. If you don't like it, then don't do it.
It allows for casual play. Casuals need to stick with Match 3 shit.
Proud savescum here. I value my time. Got work, can't waste too much of my free time dying constantly and running just to get to a place I've been before.
>rogue
Yeah. Rogues aren't DPS or whatever. They have 1 attack and do skills.
Bards are 1 million times stronger. Paladins with smites are DPS king.
can't you attack with offhand using bonus actions if you are dual wielding? and then get more of those bonus actions with thief to attack even more or assasin for ambush to get guaranteed crit against surprised
but yes, its not going to be dishing out much dps
you could multiclass with fighter, barbarian, paladin, ranger to get an extra attack on lvl 5, or bard at lvl 6 to get a bit more dps
Yeah you can, but you only get one sneak attack per turn regardless of how many attacks you do. So you blow your load in the first swing either way.
Someone who has never played tabletop DND doesn't understand that rogues aren't about getting kills, they're a utility class and they have a very specific combat style, which isn't DPS, but is more like "supportive DPS"; as in, they can't do much damage themselves, but they can stun or backstab or do bonus DMG against flat footed enemies.
They basically allow another character to do crowd control moves while the rogues make the cc worth doing, beyond simply stunning for a turn or two, thus, their damage is " supportive DPS".
I play a lot of rogues in tabletop, and they're not like most RPGs. You open locks, pop traps, cast/read scrolls, etc, and when you can you try to 1 shot an unaware enemy with a sneak attack and then hide behind your warrior or paladin and abuse attacks of opportunity, or kill stunned/flat footed enemies.
So what's the stealthy DPS class?
wizard with greater invis
Using astarion multiclass as thief and fighter and he is fricking solid at killing shit ranged and up close with dual weapon feat, better than shadowheart as paladin with gwm because her hit rate is shit
>better than shadowheart as paladin with gwm because her hit rate is shit
This. Greater weapon mastery is a trap and sucks ass. Your hit rate still hovers around 40 - 50% even with end game gear. Reddit told everyone that GWM is good and newbies believed it.
you can turn off the attack penalty / damage up passive buff, and keep the extra attack per a kill / crit
I'd still much rather take sentinel and ability score up.
I'll respec and give Sentinel a try next time I boot up the game for my lvl 5 Paladin, because I've heard good things about it and polearm master
>Your hit rate still hovers around 40 - 50% even with end game gear
No it doesn't. Advantage is a thing.
Advantage which requires setup
>put two martials next to each other
Boy was that hard.
It's wild because I have laezel using a one handed weapon and shield and she does a *tink* *tink* 10 dmg per hit 4 hits per turn and shadowheart is doing like 40 damage when it connects and sometimes I get 0 hits, others I get all 3. Astarion is somewhere in between where he does consistently like 20-30 damage per turn
It's good in the tabletop and if you're a fighter starting as a variant human, which means you start with a feat.
isn't it like power attack and supposed to not be just left on 24/7?
I use it on karlach since she already got 20 str, honestly pretty great since she always has advantage due to reckless strikes. It adds up big time.
3.5e/pathfinder rogues are DPS kings.
5e goes back to 2nd edition "rogues are le skillmasters"
I don't like 5e but whatever. they were a bit nothing personell in wotr for sure.
allthough this game has misty step which is the most hilariously op spell.
They are about dps if you go 5 thief/7 battlemaster fighter dual wield. The most broken variant of this is dual wield hand crossbows with sharpshooter feat but any one hand weapons you're proficient with will work with Dual Wielder feat.
Rogue is okish if you dual wield handbows, have items that give automatic advantage and have the perk that gives you +10 damage on hit. That way you hit 2*(10 + dex modifier + weapon damage) + sneak attack die. Though even this works better as an fighter who can get more shots off when hasted. Maybe respec astarion into that, you get 3 attacks, 4 if hasted. That's easily 80 damage per turn at level 6
It falls off though but is still viable at later levels.
Mine didn't fall off at all and ended up as my most consistent damage dealer that nearly always had a very high hit rate. He was also tanky as frick with uncanny dodge. I went rogue for the second off-hand attack and then battlemaster for the extra damage, attack, and bonus action. He beat the game for me singlehanded when everyone else was dead.
I find monk dealing way more damage just by using spell ability modifier twice and being way tankier on principle, or using Shadowheart as an tanky tempest cleric.
The action economy kinda sucks in this game. Casting a powerful spell twice is ultimately better than getting an extra attack.... And you can cast lighting multiple times even though you've used only one spell slot
What was your level distribution? I'm trying to decide which way to multiclass my rogue and I'm torn between gloom stalker/assassin or bm/assassin (or bm/thief).
I went thief 5 so I could pick up uncanny dodge and then the rest into fighter battlemaster. He went dual wield hand crossbows and took sharpshooter, stat increase, crossbow mastery, and then I think sentinel because I didn't know what else to get. With battlemaster, I gave him Menacing Attack, Precision Attack, and Riposte. Basically, he massacred at range and then when enemies would close in on him, he'd counter with his set of dual wield short swords. This build very easily destroyed the entire game.
Nice, that does sound super spicy. I'll try something similar, thanks, Anon.
The trick about Rogue is that you should always pick Thief if you don't plan to snipe out of perma-stealth. That extra Bonus action very quickly adds up.
Didn't realize thief gets a bonus action, that would make handbow build pretty much the go-to on thief
pure rogue felt the best as assassin with alert so you can initiate combat with a sneak attack, go first 99% of the time, sneak attack a 2nd time then bonus action dash/hide and do it all again
anything with under 100hp just gets removed from the fight
Assassin subclass is fricking crazy. I’m able to do a sneak attack, do another one because of my passive, then retreat and hide assuming I made the kill (which I most likely did as the sneak attack damage is high). Once combat breaks, I repeat the process until I feel like the enemy forces are small enough that I can bring in the rest of the party to finish the job. Or I could just kill them all myself, assassin is a 1 man army depending on the circumstances.
The other subclasses seem like shit though. If you’re playing rogue but not assassin then give it a try, just weave in and out of combat.
Assassin falls off hard once you start fighting 160+ hp mobs. Thief is strong all the way through the game.
Assassin falls off immediately in tactician.
I haven't played tactician. How is it different from normal? Just HP bloat or are the dice also skewed in favor of the enemy?
The AI uses attacks that suit them instead of just charging ahead like morons.
She looks like she fricks Dragonborns

It's a solid 8/10 game. Some of the most glaring issues that keep it down from a perfect score:
>Encumberance mechanic, individual inventory for each character instead of one party inventory
>Unable to speed up fights; sometimes an enemy gets stuck for like 10 seconds at the end of his turn. Fights tend to be too long
>Camera can be funky
>Things are sometimes not intuitive: Why am I at a "disadvantage" if I am out of combat, in stealth mode, behind the enemy yet I still can't use my sneak attack?
>character customization is lackluster, no body changes
>can't have all of the characters in the party chip in for dialogue options, if you have a DEX roll answer you can just leave the conversation, switch to the DEX guy in the party and have him talk
>in general the dice-based RNG mechanic is not something I like
>too much gay shit shoved into the game
I never really had a problem with fights taking too long or needing to speed them up, enemies getting stuck at the end of their turn sucks but other than that it's always been fine (so far, nearing the end of act 2). Maybe it's just because I try to talk my way out of fights as much as I can.
>Camera can be funky
>can't have all of the characters in the party chip in for dialogue options
>too much gay shit
This I can agree with. As well as inventories getting way to cluttered
are sometimes not intuitive: Why am I at a "disadvantage" if I am out of combat, in stealth mode, behind the enemy yet I still can't use my sneak attack?
The game will tell you at the top what is modifying your attacks. It sounds like the target could be in darkness which does impose disadvantage on attacks if your character can't see in the dark, making you unable to use sneak attack
agree with most of that, there should maybe be a more comprehensive encyclopedia in the game (or just more comprehensive explanations) for mechanics so you don't have to google them
I don't mind the dice-based RNG myself, but inventory management, camera funkiness (sometimes this gets pretty bad) and unexplained and sometimes unintuitive mechanics are definitely a negative
>Combat is boring and feels slow
>>I'm playing as a rogue and this class seems useless, maybe the main character is just useless?
>>A single fight can take an hour and it doesn't let you speed up NPC moves and feels fricking slow

Sort of, yeah.
Sweet, gunna reroll as an oathbreaker pally
The fun is tyring to find ways to cheese the fight like bringing half their camp into joining the fight, or luring them into an exploding barrel trap, or even just bullshit them through dialogue into not fighting. Attack by attack is the most boring way to play with he game.

I'm enjoying the gameplay, it is definitely fricking weird when the companions all suddenly want to spend the night with you at a party and get jealous over each other.

>larian wants to make you feel desired by having everyone in camp constantly thrist for you
You shouldn't really be playing a rogue since you have asterion.
>I killed le homosexual
If that's the case a high dex bard is a better skill monkey/face is also a full (support) caster and can act as the face of the party and can get double attack without martial dip.
If you absolutely have to play rogue over bard, you HAVE to dip 5 into a martial class for the double attack.
5F/7R is the simplest and most flexible this lets you go daggers or bows or both
5 Ranger (gloom stalker)/ 7 Rogue is the classic one shot from stealth archery man
5 Barb/ Rogue his things in melee hard.
>If you absolutely have to play rogue over bard, you HAVE to dip 5 into a martial class for the double attack.
does sneak attack work differently in the game than the real rules? sneak attack normally only works once per turn
Fighter has action surge + 2 attacks
Gloom Ranger has its opening nova attack
Both are martial so they get the second attack
Both of those can also still do a sneak attack when multied. There is no universe where you're getting more damage out of more sneak attack die on a single turn
that didn't answer my question but okay
sneak attack is every single turn
action surge is once a fight (unless you don't short rest after)
i don't know about that gloom ranger thing, but probably also once a fight
the rogue is a constant high damage threat while sneaking around unless you play it wrong and try to go into melee with no friends or shoot random enemies without hiding first
You can still sneak attack with the multies presented though? That's my point. Yes, sneak attack is once a turn (With advantage).
The point is you get better, more and consistent dps with a martial dip than you do with a pure rogue.
>If that's the case a high dex bard is a better skill monkey/face is also a full (support) caster and can act as the face of the party and can get double attack without martial dip.
Bards sound like overpowered gary stus.
Why do they get full spellcasting, bard abilities, extra skill proficiency, high charisma, and multi attacks? Literally sounds like the class for for that kid at the playground who would choose "everything" as his superpower
>Literally sounds like the class for for that kid at the playground who would choose "everything" as his superpower
That's genuinely what bard players are like, presumably one got onto the design team for dnd at some point.

If the game isn't fun, why bother?
>a fight takes an hour
No? Do you have a smooth brain and need 10 mins to decide how to burn a single action? even the biggest fights with 15 entities like the Raphael fight takes like 15-25 minish
> >Game lets you saveb***h way too much
Uniornically a you issue maybe stop being so bad you need to abuse savescumming, is this how you manage to make fights take an hour?
>Everyone wants to have sex with me unlike in real life, I wonder if you can frick the whole camp
Well you do seem pretty moronic so that checks out
Ok, I killed the goblins and went in the grove place.
But I climbed a mountain and saw a tiefling got assassinated by a goblin.
I killed the goblin, but I can't find anybody to report it to.
Did anybody figured this out yet?
you're supposed to save her. she gives you a present. otherwise it's not important.
>astroturfing everywhere
this board has been obsessed with TLoU 2 for years now. i have a feeling BG3 bait threads are going to have that same kind of staying power.
They probably die down until rogue trader gets a release date than its back to the larain vs owlcat threads
>>I'm playing as a rogue and this class seems useless, maybe the main character is just useless?
You feel useless because you are, rogues are basically just skill monkeys.
Here's the power level in order from strongest to weakest in BG3:
1.Fighter
2.Warlock
3.Barbarian
4.Cleric
5.Bard
6.Sorcerer
7.Ranger
8.Wizard
9.Paladin
10.Rogue
>Paladin
>9
Paladin is top-tier, what the frick are you smoking?
It's a gimped fighter that can only attack twice and consumes spell slots to actually deal damage.
The only saving grace are the saving throws and immunities.
>that can only attack twice
And fighter only attacks 3 times at level 11.
>consumes spell slots to actually deal damage
A level 1 smite is equivalent to 2 hits against regular enemies, and even more when you crit or use higher-level spell slots.
Also, spellcasting makes you significantly stronger because you can buff yourself.
Warlock sucks and is only good for a 2 level dip for sorcerer so it can get eldritch blast that scales. However, just going sorcerer 11 wizard 1 is even more powerful since you can then scribe any scroll that a wizard can as a sorcerer.
pact of the blade warlock is basically a homebrew hexblade by Larian and can be picked by any of the warlock subclasses, you're literally getting two subclasses in one, and one of them is a much better subclass at that (pact of the blade is better in every way than hexblade).
You can do some hilarious damage with the right items and hex
Plus the Level 5 Pact of the Blade extra attack stacks with other classes extra attack. So you get 3 attacks per action point at level 10.
Forgot Druid, it's between wizard and paladin, monke is below paladin
This is why you can't make 4 custom characters for your party, you make 4 Grugs and it's over, you're the unstoppable force and unbreakable shield at once while not having to deal with sexual harassment.
Full casters are at the top by a million miles as long as the player isn't clinically moronic. The game is easy enough to do whatever you want even on tactician, but putting Fighter at number 1 in power level is laughable.
I find barb to be better then fighter, free throw every round and reckless attack doesnt have to be precast. If you fail your swing it just asks you if you want to do it.
>no monk
I kneel
Bard = Paladin you homosexual both does the same shit: buff/heal/buff/heal/throws out the occasional CC while the war/barb/lock nukes away the weaker mobs.
genuinely braindead post
Paladin, Fighter and Barbarian are the top tier classes
>9. paladin
Paladins are fricking crit monsters if you build them right. Ignore their spells for the most part and use all their slots for smites. Go Half Orc with a dip into fighter for the Champion subclass and get the Spell Sniper feat if you really want to pull some bullshit.
This is quite possibly one of the most objectively wrong lists I've ever seen.
>Warlock 2
>Paladin 9
Am I just shit at playing Warlock? I was weak as shit when I did a Warlock but I restarted the game because I didn't like the class or my characters look and went Oathbreaker Paladin and it's been a fricking cake walk in comparison.
Depends on how you played the warlock.
Status effects, AOE, and ranged shit mostly. I'd usually try to combo spells like using Tasha's Hideous Laugh on someone then putting a Cloud of Daggers on the fricker after. Everything else I usually fought with ranged spells or hexes.
>Ranged
Get closer motherfricker, you get armor for a reason
I wanted to play Warlock as kind of a trickster type class, didn't know going in that it was pretty much a Battle Mage. Now I just whack shit with a big hammer, smite motherfrickers, and use necromancy. I'll try Warlock again eventually and not play like a moron, but I've already decided next run is gonna be Druid.
>Am I just shit at playing Warlock?
It's just the melee warlock that's busted
wheres druid
>Sees everyone talking about how all the companions want to have sex with you
>Buys game expecting hot companion sex
>Save refugees and go around the party to talk to my companions for some sex
>Vampire Twink doesn't want to have sex with me
>Shadowheart does not want to have sex with me
>Bear druid does not want to join the party.
>Warlock is too busy brooding to frick me.
>Only the ugly green chick is interested
What the frick did I do wrong?
You aren't a dumb himbo like most of the playerbase who confuses flirting for compliments
>What the frick did I do wrong?
You believed Ganker's shitposting. Worse, you believed summer Ganker's shitposting.
Shadowheart won't frick you until act 3 even if you do everything right. She's the most difficult one to bang because she, outside of the dark urge, is the main character.
it's okay, Minthara will suck and ride you dry in act 1
>Everyone wants to have sex with me unlike in real life, I wonder if you can frick the whole camp
The point of the game is to be a barrack bunny.
>ai slop
In Act 2 what level are people when they fight The big skeleton thing I'm 8 right now and can get my shit pushed in pretty easily. Running around looking for shit I missed in Act 2 but don't think I'll hit 9 unless I missed a ton.
You mean phase 2 of the Ketheric fight? That was easier than Ketheric himself. Put sanctuary on Shadowheart, guidance spirit guardians, and heal anyone who gets hurt.
i just got done with that fight. i used my mc as cleric with the guardian spirit radiance and just stood by him, healed whoever, and had thief dual handcrossbow homosexual kill all the spawning necromites.
i made shadowc**t my barb because i thougth there was more story for her there but she chunked him with crits and the NPC did a big chunk too.
best of luck, the first phase i thought i was done for but i managed
light cleric is really really good
what stats/barb build for Shart
just default stats i had and put into athletics if you can with her. go zerk because im not frickin with the others this playthrough. attributes then gwm for feats
i didn't look into her questline more but im just gonna use her until she wants to have sex with me then im going to dump her back for my real wife, karlach
I think you missed a ton, bro. I am level 9 as of the Oliver fight. I still have all of the tower and the Shar crypt to do
Any advice on how to make something that fricks up mages? Always wanted to make some anti-magic field templar, but havent had a chance. Is it possible in BG3?
Get fighter, rogue, or barbarian. Go to the Underdark. Get Sussur bloom.
Now you have a literal anti-magic field around you at all times.
Oh shit
can you craft that into your weapon?
Not that I know. It's active so long as it's in your inventory, and you can throw it as well.
https://baldursgate3.wiki.fextralife.com/Finish+the+Masterwork+weapon
It disappears once you go to the surface.
there's a reason noone is posting combat of this game.
the actual gameplay fricking sucks.
it's a worthless piece of shit with marketers going:
>Bro buy our game you can frick animals (haha it's just a joke tho, don't imply its degenerate fetish shit, it's certainly not)
>there's soo much gay shit. every male character is a raging homosexual, buy our game.
The combat is good. It's turn based and very much like Solasta which is another turn based D&D fifth edition game.
>The combat is good.
>It's turn based
owned yourself in the very next sentence. just let me just break out my NES.
Why aren't you in the Diablo 4 thread or some shit? That's the perfect game for ADHD morons like you.
Not only is it not good, the slap dash way it's constructed makes it inherently buggy as frick - the turn based combat is a state that entities enter while the rest of the world goes on around them in real time, leading to all sorts of stupid shit happening when there are any enemies around to enter the combat as it is ongoing, you'll end up with it being your turn while enemies run around smacking your other characters and then you lose your action because they surprised you I guess?
Even when it's not bugging out, it's still 5e and your optimal party is 4 fighters spamming attacks because rolling more dice per turn is the only thing that matters. When an encounter is easy, it's tedious. When an encounter is hard, it's annoying. And when it's evenly balanced, it's purely up to dice rolls and is even more annoying.
You posted all of that just to cry about dice rolls. Go play some stupid shit like Diablo 4.
that's not what I did and you have no argument. I accept your concession. Diablo 4 is gutter trash
I can think of at least four big instances of lots of additional enemies come into a fight, and none of them are them running around attacking while you are. They just get slotted into the initiative order just like everyone else. What the hell was going on that the game broke completely for you there, anon?
I was trying to kill minthara, initiated combat with the goblin across the bridge and she ran all the way to us and climbed up the ladder and one shot my main character before being added to the initiative order, while it was lae'zel's turn
outskilled
You just suck ass at the game.
>The combat is good
>Oh you can only use a selection of fun spells ONCE at the beginning of the game
>Same applies to special melee moves
>Now wait about 20 hours to cast a few per fight
>Now wait another 40 hours to cast multiple per fight or maybe 2 fights back to back
>What's that? You want to play a strength character? WAIT 10 HOURS BEFORE YOU GET CLOSE TO A SECOND ACTION
DnD resting/spell slots is the most moronic concept to ever add to a video game, I don't care if you think it works okay, come up with an actual fun system instead of this absolute snoozefest of a system
Inb4:
>BUT YOU CAN JUST SPAM RESTS!!! LOL!!
Then what is the fricking point of them? Food is literally everywhere even on the hardest difficulty, potions are everywhere too, the reason to rest is because your spell slots are used up after either one hard fight or multiple in a row, it's so fricking boring
Managing resources is fun and an intrinsic part of any rpg adventure anon. I have long rested like 4 or 5 times at most and I'm midway through act 2, and at least one if not two of those were forced by the game when you move between zones or have to rest for the tiefling party etc.
You do not need your fancy ass spells every single fight, you do not need to use all your spells every single fight, that is infact not fun because it becomes mundane instead of the exception.
My issue is more to do with the pointless nature of actually resting rather than having every single spell available to me at all times, which I don't even want
They pretty much carbon copied 5e, you only get 2 slots generally at level one, warlocks are given an insanely strong cantrip that scales all the way through the game but they still have their higher level spells locked off by the slots
It just seems lazy, they couldn't be bothered to come up with something that actually made any sense so they just dumped a ton of food around the map and let people rest constantly, rather than idk, making food rarer/more expensive which giving each class a few more spell slots than in 5e
It's still a video game at the end of the day
Larian is too hooked on the idea of player freedom, they refuse to limit the player in any way. That's why you get more money than you can use, more (and more overpowered) potions than in any campaign, amulets that let you spam third level spells infinitely for free in act one, etc etc. It's really not a smart pairing with DnD where the strategy is all about how you use your limited resources.
>I have long rested like 4 or 5 times at most and I'm midway through act 2
going to warn you right now to stop doing that unless youre ok with missing camp encounters / events. I did this all the way to act 3 before I realized how much shit I missed.
It's a snooze fest because Xcooooom and D:OS1/2 fried everyone's brains and now everyone demands their CRPG's be turn based instead of real time with pausing
Fights take way longer than they need to even for minor speed bump encounters
You can't spam rests during the harder areas later in the game. Conserving spells is fun from a tactical standpoint and if you don't like tactical RPGs, you shouldn't play games like this. There are plenty of action RPGs created for gamers like yourself.
The only thing I don't like about the combat is the AI can get pretty shove happy. There are a few setpiece fights that get ugly really quick because the AI will immediately run over and just start shoving people into chasms, lava, etc.
You can mitigate it with some pre-cutscene positioning, but for that Duegar fight at the end of the Grymforge area it was painful. Every single time they'd sprint over and knock at least half the rebels into the lava because they're always on the left near the lava.
OUT
SKILLED
Go play Call of Duty, moron. The combat is insanely fast if you understand what you are doing.
In some cases shit happened, that made me just sit there for 5 minutes figuring out what to do. BG3 is the giga CHAD chess. You have no idea how insanely amazing the combat is and how much stuff you can do.
calm down sven
>AI trash
have a nice day
>>A single fight can take an hour
no it can't shut the frick up, on tactician basically no fight takes longer than a few minutes.
Anon is probably playing this on a toaster. The fights can take awhile if you're playing this on a terrible PC.
>I just want to be a melee user that's dropping lightning bolts down on enemies.
Should I just go melee Tempest Cleric? I hate the idea of two clerics in a party. What should I turn Shadowheart into?
Nghhh I need to sniff that ass so bad more please
warning my fellow shadow heart bros, if you don;t rest enough you will miss all her side content and even sexo scenes. If you have companions you don't like or care about, BOOT them out of camp because they can trigger their events over shadowheart forcing you to wait longer and longer to get the scenes or overwriting them completely.
Thanks for the warning.
I'm glad its a slow burn so far.
Shart is best girl/
Just beat it and man are the endings underwhelming
Yeah that sucks, I also assume certain events happen when you rest in certain areas so it seems impossible to see them all unless you sleep 100 times.
I recommend literally looking up what scenes are supposed to happen before ending "acts"
Can't believe they had the gals to say that BG3 had 17k endings. Fricking Fallout 1's endings were longer.
>game punishes you for being good
Great design.
It's weird too because you get an achievement for long resting 5 times per playthrough as if that is a lot
>fellow shadowcucks
fix'd
This, she was the first character I flirted with, and even got the "we'll frick at night once everyone's asleep" dialogue in early act 1, and I still haven't seen the scene since story related rest scenes and the owlbear joining youare prioritized first, and I'm still stingy with full resting even though I have 1000+ camp supplies now.
The same reason that everyone raved over Top Gun Maverick and Puss in Boots 2. Modern media is so garbage that the rare occasions we get something that is just straight up "good" it gets hailed as a masterpiece.
The not being able to speed up enemy turns is cringe and gives me fire emblem path of radiance flashbacks
It’s funny you wrote all that, because no one gives a shit what you think.

Why even bother having Ganker as a blue(safe for work) board?
>browsing Ganker at work
hope you get put on a list, moron
The problem with this game is that despite having 2 million lines of dialogue, the player is usually presented 4 dialogue options when talking to npcs, unless there is some lore or background to learn
>Option 1: "Yes I am a good guy and would like to help you"
>Option 2: "Yes I am a good guy and would like to help you, but with asshat comment"
>Option 3: "Yes I would like to help you, FOR A PRICE!"
>Option 4: "Frick off and die, homosexual" / *Leave.*
Sure, quests can end in different ways depending on if you passed a few persuasion checks or you have a unique background, but fricking hell the actual nuance of your character is pathetic, and the outcomes at large are just one of two options, ALL because of the fricking lack of dialogue options.
It's a RPG, where is the player expression? This game is supposedly built off DnD but outside of throwing barrels or midgets around, there really isn't any kind of freedom to do anything, you either luck into an outcome or you go down a narrow list of dialogue options
Don't even get me started on the romance side of things, you have 3 options that lead to romantic interest or 1 that tells them to frick off, where is the bro option?
Black person every rpg in existence is like this.
So why are people lauding this RPG over any other? You'd think this was the greatest game ever made from all the constant dick sucking this game gets
It's the best crpg of the decade so far and probably the best overall rpg as well is why
What advantage am I missing out on here because I have paladin+fighter next to each other 99 percent of the time and don't see free advantage
>It's the best crpg of the decade so far and probably the best overall rpg as well is why
The pathfinder games were better
BG3 has a ton of problems but your statement will never be true
Pathfinder is one of the worst video games ever made
I disagree, you're just a brainlet simple as. I recommend reading some VN/Eroges or something.
There are like 15 crpg's in total let alone this decade, this decade there has probably been 3? 4? hardly an accomplishment to make an actual good game
In fact, games from over 10 years ago would often give like 6+ options to choose from
>and probably the best overall rpg as well is why
even you don't believe this, you're simply baiting here
>BG3 has a ton of problems but your statement will never be true

I honestly can't think of a better wrpg since 2020 and maybe only a couple Jrpgs that could be better

raphael fight in the house of hope
ok, I'll ask here cuz frick it, why not. Any anons have any DnD like games they play that stand up to this? I'm not buying this one, because I don't buy games that do the shock marketing shit, but I don't think the genre is necessarily bad. I've checked for similar games and see solasta, which I've never heard of, divinity, which I think I've heard of vaguely, and guild wars, which I am completely in the dark of.
Any anons got reviews of these games or suggestions in the genre to try that aren't FOTM?
Solasta is great fun if you don't take it seriously. The battles feel like a streamlined version of BG3 and are really fun. The story is so dumb that it's actually hilarious in a Two Worlds way. If you don't want to deal with the stupid story, you can download community modules instead which is what most fans do.
thanks anon. Bad story is unfortunate, but as someone who does play table top (somewhat competently) with a great DM, I think I could live with this. I'll wishlist it for now
Be sure to pick up the unfinished business mod which adds in a ton of tabletop feats, subclasses, spells, and allows you to adjust the level cap if you want. It's great.
Outside of BG3 I'd say the most notable modern ones are Divinity OS 2 and Pathfinder WoTR. You could even add Wasteland 3, but ofc the world is nothing like D&D.
Dragon Age Origins is the gold standard for modern CRPGs. After that, go back and play Baldur's Gate 2 (1 is optional, it did not age well and only contrarions disagree), Pathfinder Kingmaker and WoTr, Planetscape Torment, Neverwinter Night 1 and 2, Kotor 1 and 2, the Shadowrun trilogy, and Jade Empire

What about icewind dale
icewind dale is a combat slog simulator for people who are sexually aroused by RTWP
Very little story. Only play it if you like RTWP gameplay

act three is a clown fiesta and larian are hacks
Yeah, act 3 was pretty ass. Compare the ludo kino that was the Kethric boss fight to Gortash and Orin's. Why isn't Orin PLAPable?
None. Shadowheart is the bawdtiest female companion btw.
I don't know if I just did Gortash's fight in the wrong way but it was an annoying clusterfrick and that was with no steel watch
>None.
I'm so glad I pirated this piece of shit ass wokeshit CVCKOLDED game. If I'm not raping or making love v's then there's no fricking point in being good
You didn't rescue ravengard? Apparently omeeluum the mindflayers is there too but I didn't see him in the room so I guess he didn't get captured

I also was confused about the tower being some random robot but why did you have to reload?
>Hey here's an ambush from four frickers with two-shot Crossbows and a guy who casually shits out 15+ damage a turn
Oh I see, you have to read a book of hers (open it then close it) and in it is the secret password to make them docile. But there is nothing up there so maybe I should have forced attacked him for the loot.
you can push him out the window for like 80% of his health. he drops the best melee weapon in act 1.
>Top floor has basically fricking mothing besides the moronic robot
I went back in with a plan and got everything.
Karlach literally throwing dudes seems fun and I'm probably going to use that more going forward.
There's a ring on the top floor with a light spell, and if you cast it and walk to the elevator it will reveal a button that lets you go to a secret floor.
what the FRICK
this STUPID FRICKING DWARF wont stay away from these exploding robots that AOE near death. and I need him to finish a quest.
just kill everyone

the game is 10/10 but this suicidal dorf is making me rage
now I left and re-entered the room and now he's standing by the door. or maybe they did it on purpose cause he's mad and blind.
>the game is 10/10
you can't be serious homie
I hate those robots so much.
hes a dwarf, pick his ass up and toss him
nobody tosses a dwarf
>why does everyone on Ganker hate it
Brother, you literally explained all of it
>Game lets you saveb***h way too much
Unlike actual TTRPGs, where the GM works around failures and still makes an interesting story
>Combat is boring and feels slow
Combat is the second bulk of the gameplay, the first being dialogue, as is proper for an RPG
>I'm playing as a rogue and this class seems useless, maybe the main character is just useless?
No, just rogues. Rogues exist to be skill monkeys, nothing more. Pick the door and shut the frick up
>A single fight can take an hour and it doesn't let you speed up NPC moves and feels fricking slow
>80% of combat is watching slow ass enemy moves and feels tedious if there are a lot of enemies
The gameplay of this game is bad, yes
>Everyone wants to have sex with me unlike in real life, I wonder if you can frick the whole camp
Californian virgin writing
So the writing is mediocre at best when the characters aren't horny for once and the rest of the game is boring and slow
I wonder why we hate it
>we hate it
Based off of polls and general consensus in other threads appears to be a vocal minority that hates it even here
>Ganker is a normie board
Uh yes, we know
Why is Ganker horny all the time?
You guys seriously need to take some therapy.
>throw a potion at a party member
>they take damage before being healed
you're breaking a glass bottle on them, of course it does damage
>muh realism
In that case the potion shouldn't heal you neither because healing potions ARE NOT FRICKING REAL
>Lays down in fire
>Ow, wtf, why does this hurt?
>Submerges head under water
>Wtf, why can't I breathe?
>Jumps off a cliff
>Wtf, why am I falling?
How would you have felt if you didn't eat breakfast yesterday?
probably pretty hungry
I'm not that anon, and sorry to but in, but you could just have the potion heal that amount less instead of doing damage and healing the same amount. it may be me picking at hairs, but would it really be so hard to simplify, and if so, would anyone really care they didn't take 1d4 glass potion vial damage before the heal?
Yeah I agree that it should just heal you, but to complain that it doesn't, doesn't make much sense
>Throws glass bottle at your head
>Wtf, why did that hurt?
It fricked me up pretty badly learning that actually drinking a potion is the worst way to use it.
You're supposed to throw it on the ground, and it will have an AoE effect, so you can heal all 4 of your party members at once.
>rogue
>useless
unironic skill issue
Rogue is the opposite of a skill issue, it's a skill solution. Not a combat solution tho
Rogue is fine in combat. Not top tier but perfectly OK. They mostly just contribute some consistent DPS in combat (with assassin additionally having a round 1 spike and trickster having a bit of magic support).
If you're not successfully sneak attacking every turn then you're doing something wrong, and if you are then they're doing fine.
Rogue is strong mixed with other martials especially the thief subclass
Rogue is fricking great both in and out of combat. Thinking that it's a useless class heavily implies that OP has a skill issue
>Throw chicken
>It dies
I'm sorry but chickens have wings. Even if they can't fly they can still flap and slowly fall to the ground like in Zelda.
chickens can have a heart attack if they are very scared.
Now imagine a world with magical creatures and predators of all shapes and sizes. Sure the chickens live in a state of constant alert and fear.
troony pedo game.
couldn't be further from the truth
There are trannies in this game and Raphael wans to bang Mol, he's right.
>Combat is boring and feels slow
Haven't played the game yet, but wouldn't lowering the difficulty help with that?
>Game lets you saveb***h way too much

Black person you are the one choosing to reload. If you don't like it, don't do it!
>in the rafters of moonrise
>only MC is still standing
>rack my brain for solutions
>see health potion in inventory
>throw health potion at two downed party members grouped up
>it splashes healing goo all over them allowing me to retake the fight
The shenanigans you can pull off gets so addicting.
>steel watchers are decapitated zombies
>with a brain elsewhere in a jar taken over by a tadpole
>controlled by a giant master brain who makes people into squids
>Game lets you saveb***h way too much
Just don’t savebitch?
It’s not the game fault you can’t control yourself
there is a plus to lots of saves, you can revisit any major choice after you finish the game and try different paths.
or just do a new game/character.
this.
i have a save for when karlach says she loves me and has sex with me.
why the frick wont they allow us to frick our waifus whenever we want instead of kisses?
Least cringe dw*rf
The game really needs a way to create a custom party that isn't a janky workaround.
is there a worse feeling than being pushed off a bridge/cliff to death?
Having the whole party fail a perception check.
just finished her quests, it was very cliche and also her real name fricking sucks ass, she's cute though
People guessed the twist since 20 fricking 20. Larian can't write for shit.
whats her real name and whats cliche? i might use her next playthrough anyway but im not replayin this shit for like another year
Her real name is google it
wizard/cleric elementals are really really good
also dont forget the best shadowheart spell early in the game or most game for consistent AOE:
This spell is so fricking OP. Why are developers so bad at balancing game.
Actually love this spell, just cast it and run around like an idiot. Upcast versions are great too
its super useful on the fights with a lot of shit undead enemies because they just dash right into it
You suck at rogue and dont understand the mechanics
Bros....
I have a toaster PC and I heard Act 3 is borderline unplayable even on high end PCs.. So far i'm playing fine (nearly maxed out graphics because they barely do frick all to the performance) at a silky smooth 40fps. Any toastergays wanna update me on how Act 3 actually is?
Why you don't just reduce the graphic quality, you fat frick?
because i'm not in Act 3 yet you illiterate frick
No virgins in my games no fricking buy
Frick, the troony NATO Dutroux affair country stole my money
why pick duelling as a fighter over dual wield? adding 2 damage per swing seems way worse than putting an extra modifier on an offhand weapon let alone just having an offhand weapon
Offhand attack uses the bonus action which you might want to use for something else. Additional attacks only affect the main hand too.
dual wield feat seems practically worthless in this game idk what you're on about. you don't need to pick it to dual wield.
Dualwielding is absolute shit in this, even if you pick the class that is meant to dualwield aka ranger.
convinced her to kill Nightsong
convinced her to kill her parents
convinced her that all of the shit that happened to her is becausse of Shar
Act 3: I don't have anyone except for you
becomes obsessed with you approving of your psychotic Dark Urge murders
you killed that kid, it must be for the best
Ending: literally become a serial killer couple
Shadowheart is literally best girl.
Man, I'm almost done with my first Dark Urge playthrough and I chose to resist, I'll go full psycho in the next, can't wait.
Only reason I didn't maker her dark justicar is her eyes look ugly as frick. Looks like teifling eyes.
>Use Gale
>every single dialogue option is about how much of an extra-special boy he is, how he's the best mage ever, etc.
>Don't use Gale
>his dialogue options at camp still pretend he's part of anything, to the point that the game references him almost blowing up in the Act 2 finale despite being nowhere near it
You can really tell Gale and Karlach were late additions, because Karlach is near-nonexistent as a character and Gale is stapled on to everything with no consideration for cases where you stick him on the bench
No idea what happened but I only have his hand.
Stop Urging
no
>never use the ugly green c**t
>camp at the creche
>wants to taste me all of a sudden
>SEXOOOOOO
>dont kill guardian
>she shows up naked in the astral prism teleport room to fight me
what the frick that b***h is crazy
homie drow
Am I fricking up going for the harem end
>he doesn't know
oh no...
You can't have a 2 chicks in your harems, the only confirmed polygamous NPCs are the gay bear, the gay vampire and Shadowheart.
Shadowheart will let you do anything, like you can ask her to watch while you frick Raphael's boy/girlfriend..
>Shadowheart will let you do anything
Except let you romance other chicks in your camp, apparently.
You can frick Minthara, I think she just won't let you romance Lae'zel.
She won't let you romance Karlach either. Looks like Larian writers can't get it up if a couple doesn't feature at least two wieners. Frick this gay Earth.
Depends, like if you go the Dark Justicar route she will let you cuck her all day. The thing is once you go down this route Karlach will leave and Lae'zel will be disgusted by you. Cool thing about Shadow heart is unlike DAO love interests she will mold herself to your playstyle. In ME Liara will love you no matter what but she doesn't become evil if your Shepherd is evil, she just stays the same Liara. Shadowheart will become evil if Tav becomes evil.
I fricked Mizora and she could do nothing about it
>every quest giving good guy NPC is a nigress dwarf
Why?
Wait a second. People subscribe to "artists" that just use AI generation? With money?
Is it less boring than dos2
I didn't like dos2 but I like this game, it's still a crpg so
There are so many ways I can improve the joystick controls for this game though. If the joystick interface is tweaked more like not fricking go into a seperate roulette screen whenever you pick a spell it would be fricking awesome. Also give us an option for a list of spells instead of the shitty roulette wheel.
Does transforming into an Illithid keep your class and skills, or do you just get turned into a basic-b***h mindflayer and lose all of your shit?
100% of your skills are replaced, its the same skill set that Emperor and The Prince has. You honestly do not need to do this since if you were chugging worms like there was no tomorrow you'd already have most of this skills. I had MC and Shadowheart just share all of the worms they can both fly and just spam that nuke skill. Things die in like 1-2 turns, sure its not unlimited ammo if you don't 100% turn but 12 shots each not including your normal spellslots is more than adequate to clear a dungeon without having to worry about long resting.
>100% of your skills are replaced
No they aren't. My thief/battlemaster still had all of his shit. Some of his mind flayer skills were upgraded though.
Yea you're right, I press K and all of my skills are there. It just seems like my bar was entirely replaced for some reason. These non-Illithid are shit anyways, why even use a bow when you can just spam nukes.
You probably got so many new skills after the transformation that the shitty GUI covered up your old ones. The camera and GUI is so crappy in this game. They should have stole Solasta's GUI.
Illithid powers in this felt way too fricking weak, there's nothing there that magical items or arcane spellcasting could not replicate. They should have been absolutely gamebreaking to tempt you into giving up your humanity instead of "Well, maybe you can deal 1d4 psi damage occasionally, ok?"
>free crits
>free counterspell
>free unlimited flight
>auto kill enemy under x HP
>mind sanctuary
>freecast
>way too fricking weak
Is this a shitpost? Just giving your whole party fly by itself trivializes most things in the game
If you pass 3 checks in the gith creche machine you can cast all illithid powers as a bonus action. Seems like a thief/illithid build makes the most sense cuz you get more bonus actions.
You keep your class and skills.
imagine if a big strong wolf smelled her sex and found her while she was exposed like this and mated with her by force (but it wouldn't be by force for long)
>Need to find a Greatsword to do the Blacksmuth quest
>Remember that Lae'zel was using a 2-handed sword, ans I hadn't recruited her
>She was still in gay baby jail being a c**t
>Already have Karlach and Paladin MC for big dick melee damage, say frick it and Shadowheart immediately kills her
>She was actually using a Longsword, not a Greatsword
Well
Shit
how do you find Karlach early? I want to bench the githb***h asap.
Also, if you play as Karlach does muh blade of the frontier aggro you instantly?
Nah, you can convince him not to be a homie pretty quick, in fact he drops it way too fast for my liking. Wyll is super fricking inoffensive.
There's a bunch of twohanders in the smithy of the demolished village, I think. It's a good greatsword too, put the wizardbane oil on it and the casters will never be a problem for you again.
I just didn't go get Lae'zel. I was kinda surprised she was still there.
Wonder if Astarion is still waiting by the bushes.
Already looted the place I think, just forgot to keep one.
Theres a greatsword at the start of the swamp in the south, before the witch place, just laying in the water. In case youre still looking
Rogues use is to do high single target burst dps using sneak attack and to be a skill monkey. 5e watered this down greatly by combining lockpick and disarm trap into 'slight of hand' and making it so just about anyone could get it.
Ironically the best skill monkey in the game, outside of bard, seems to be ranger because they can get so many ones for free.
Why does everyone love Shadowheart when the devil girl is cuter?
cuz she isn't frickface, shadowheart mogs every female companion so hard it's not even funny
you meet shadowheart right at the start of the game and she comes off as cute and reasonable at first until you learn she worships Shar
Well, sharrans literally captured and brainwashed her since childhood and you can make her have a heel face turn in regards to that. No one sane worships Shar willingly, she's literally the goddess those that can't get any other god to give a frick about them turn to.
and even then she doesn't actually give a frick, you find that book about 'the forgotten' almost immediately and I wanted to beat Shadowheart in the face with it screeching READ homie READ
thing is, to rescue her from edgelord-dom, I heard you gotta make a *really hard* persuade check? So if you aren't playing a diplomancer you're basically fricked?
Nah, you need to roll a 21, it's not that difficult, got it on my second try with inspiration and her own guidance. Always found it funny that you could use her own abilities to buff a skill check used against her. And you get two attempts, the first check is a 30, that one is difficult, but you get a second chance after you fail that one.
Is it telegraphed obviously when this conflict will come to a head so I can save scum? I just don't wanna be locked into playing one of the handful of classes that can hit huge persuasion #'s all the time.
It is very obviously telegraphed when it's coming. You will see it coming a mile away.
I didnt have to roll anything, I was romancing her and had high affinity. At the nightsong part I didn't say anything at all and let shadow decide everything for herself. I even failed the insight when she was hesitating and entering the water. then at the last second I interjected and told her to spare the nightsong so she could "hear her out" and shadow tossed the spear no rolls needed. kinda regret chickening out and not letting shadow decide 100% by herself but I read all the books that were like "you have to dump your bf to ascend". I learned my lesson when lezy was in the gith chair and all the rolls were like 30+
I'd bet this elf is tight as hell
>cute brainwashed half-elf orphan raised in a cult that values mental trauma, memory surgery, and unquestioning obedience
She was raped approximately 100000 times before she met you
Don't elf have self-healing abilities
>fanfiction.net
>why does everyone on Ganker hate it and every reviewer suck it's dick so much?
If you go in before any previous knowledge you will accidentally trigger a gaysex scene when you try to befriend a male character
be real with me, how much forced troony and Black person shit is in this game
be as non-biased as possible please
so far I've found 5 trannies and they are all in the last act of the game, plenty of black people in every area, lots of homosexual couples as well and every companion is bisexual, none of it really bothered except for one drag Black person in the circus. I'm not someone that gets really bothered by that shit, if you are, you will definitely not have a good time
Theres only 1 troony? I havent seen any other than circus guy.
there are a couple of random NPCs in Baldurs Gate that have a mans voice while having a female character
You better be fine with your male companions hitting on you, don't expect bros.
The sad thing is that is just going to become a standard for WRPGs going forward. Pretty much every romance option will be Player-sexual, so you cannot have friendship and only have them coming onto you.
You can have friendship but you have to reject their advances first which is moronic, they should make it so the player is always the one that has to make the first move
You don’t get gay options if you shut them up first time they flirt with you. But everybody but shadowheart, lae zel and astarion left my camp cuz I kill the druids.
>I don't want to see magic tricks
>I couldn't give two fricks about Gale's sob story
>he STILL wants to look at the starry sky with me
Sure.
>forced troony
I haven't seen any outright troons having just finished act 2, but there are a ton of homosexuals and dykes. In fact, their super advanced 2023 romance system makes it so that every single instance of positive approval causes them to lust for your character--yes if your character is male and the companion is male they're gonna go gay for you. Almost all of it is avoidable if there were any cutscenes where homosexualry take place I wouldn't know because I skip them all.
The one that is really in your face are two major characters dykes who constantly and obnoxiously mention that they're in a relationship.
>Black person shit
There are Black folk everywhere in this game to the point where it's definitely forced.
Pirate/10. Has a gog release.
>Pirate/10. Has a gog release.
gonna stop me playing online with frens if i do?
there's direct IP connectivity and a LAN option so I imagine you can use shit like tunngle or whatever.
I'd imagine the only barrier to it is all of you being on the same patch
sounds like too much trouble ill just avoid the gay Black person troony game i think and deal with my friends being pissy that i wont play with them the petty fricks
So far Gale has been the only one that's bad about aggressively pushing his romance. Now I know to not let him teach me about magic because there's no way to do it in a friendly manner. He didn't back off until Act 3 when I finally romanced Shadowheart enough to be together.
the Black person was more subtle than gale, but still as aggressive. the main issue with all of these is that almost all the dialogue choices don't actually reflect 90% of what normal non-brain damaged people would say.
example:
wyll starts dancing
do you say
>what the frick are you doing
>nice
>hey alright do it somewhere else
>why are you dancing
instead we're presented with absolutely none of the above, wherein all options either praise him (gay choice), join him (gay), or reject him.
Have shadowheart kill her or sell her out later to the mage. I hoped she was a secret companion but nah.
Go thief subclass and dual wield hand crossbows if you want it to be more than a lockpick monkey. Astarion gives you +2 STR potion in act 2 and you can get Lae’zel to 23 STR with the hag hair +1 STR. Get the legendary gith greataword from dragon rider and you’re basically god mode. Put haste on Lae’zel and she kills 1 enemy per swing in act 2. This is my second tact playthrough and I’m minmaxxing. Tempest Cleric Shadowheart is amazing btw and frickload of lighting charge items early on.
Also gith is the best race content wise and good perks, people just not inspired enough. You can make them look really cool with char editor, just get rid of the yellow skin.
>no hotkey to transfer an item to the camp stash
>the move to camp option is more than half way down the list of options on a right click
what the frick is wrong with larian? seriously someone deserves to be shot in the back of the head for this
The story is trash because Mind Flayers are boring as frick
Doing a durge/illithid/absolute playthrough, actually so much different than goody 2 shoes one.
>Combat is boring and feels slow
>A single fight can take an hour and it doesn't let you speed up NPC moves and feels fricking slow
>80% of combat is watching slow ass enemy moves and feels tedious if there are a lot of enemies
>8/10
>single fight can take an hou
Name one encounter that takes an hour? 20-30 mins at most.
>well written
Do you have brain damage?
I loved the gameplay, but why the hell is the main story of this game such a borefest? Not that the sidequests are good either, but you'd think a storyline about Eldritch mind-controlling beings from another dimensions would have something better on the table.
>I loved the gameplay, but why the hell is the main story of this game such a borefest?
Sounds like your typical larian game
What other games did they make?
>Divinity Original Sin
Oh that explains a LOT
wants to have sex with me unlike in real life, I wonder if you can frick the whole camp
funny...
Ganker is not a place to discuss video games. We have /vg/ for that
>waifugays
>ritualposters
>autism
>discordhomosexualry
Keep it.
please explain what you do in this game, everyone just says "it has no microtransactions or bugs" when asked why its good
Black person watch a video, do you see anyone asing what you do in elden ring or zelda?
Its a party based rpg, you go around doing quests and fighting monsters
How the frick are there so many people on this board that have never played an RPG?
Have you ever played a CRPG?
Why does Eldritch Knight feel so weak?
Because battle master is just too good
I personally like Champion because I don't understand the superiority dice.
Superiority die are just expendable charges that refresh upon rest. Sorcerers basically have the same mechanic under a different name. Battle master is worth it for riposte alone.
>those gloves at the start of act3 that give all your battle master skills advantage. Disarm disarm disarm disarm
>exploring around the druids camp and doing random quests
>do the one where you save the kid from harpies
>writes a story about how awesome you are as a reward
actually made me smile
so can I rp as a dwarf who just wants to drink beer and sing songs? can I rp as a jaded old man who hates everything?
i did the mirror tower and got the b***h from bg1 but shes definitely wrinkly under there if you catch my drift
karlach makes me feel empty now. i know i will never get a gf or wife of that caliber and i think im going to move on to get that shadowussy or that jaheira pussy now
>>it doesn't let you speed up NPC moves and feels fricking slow
fricking really?
2 years EA and they never thought of adding this?
>People freaking out about my undead minions
Alright makes sense.
>Also keep freaking out about pets as a ranger
What?
is divinity os2 the same shit as this? does it have dnd monsters and all?
i know dumb question
BG3 might as well be DOS3
alright i have that game on family sharing and im at the start of act 3 on bg3 and i hear its kinda incomplete in a way so if i feel any resistance im going to start a playthrough of that
Thats what i was worried about.
Ill wait for a steep discount I guess.
gameplay is similar but while story in bg3 is reasonably good dos2 is a total marvelesque slop where nobody can take anything seriously for two minutes
>Story seems good
Anthony Burch tier writing
realized my game tanks in fps whenever i alt tab. doesn't ever revert back to stable fps unless i never ever alt tab.
same
soon
never seen npcs on normal difficulty use shove until that balthazar fight. frickin skeleton Black folk.
I had it happen several times, enough to make me fear positioning near ledges.
how did you go through grymforge without taking a dip in lava
dont know. bat dudes and the elemental never made me fall in lava
nere had a heart attack because i went to vendor some shit and i came back to an empty grymforge with him on the ground sleeping permanently and realized theres more to the level, and never got punted still
my shadowhearts hair didn't turn white. when does it turn white? i made her throw the spear away with the power of friendship
This game is unironically the best RPG i can remember playing and has made me feel like a little kid again fricking around with my buddies and fricking up all of the storylines we have going and finding new ways around the frick ups that the game actually accounts for. I haven’t even been able to shill or shitpost about it on v til now cuz I’m too busy playing
playin the game straight and coming back to empty ass towns feels frickin eerie. i think im going to help minthara next time because this shits gonna empty out anyway
is the companiom quest for playing as Gale bugged for other people as well? I can't consume any magic items (with the label for consumption) and the quest is stuck at arcane hunger I think.
Do I need to wait for a patch that fixes this before finishing Act 1 so I can progress the quest or can I continue and not miss out on future content?
what do i give my hand crossbow 6/3 thief/fighter for the fighter part? trip and frighten?
Menacing, riposte (put short swords in other slot since the game auto swaps for counters), disarm, and eventually accurate shot or whatever it's called for monsters with high defense
shit aight i have to respec anyway. at the end of act 2 and got the grandma to replace the homosexual
withers wont let me respec until he's back at the camp but its late as frick and i am sleepy.
>Story seems good
The story is alright for now, but I'm not very far, yet. If it's gonna be some shit about muh gods my ass I'm gonna drop it to trash tier real quick.
>world feels real
The world looked completely moronic at first because I used to consider freak races as "I want to be the unique one" so a world filled with these seemed dumb. But I'm starting to realize Faerun is just a freak world where they all live together and demons walking down the street is normal. I still think it's bad because it makes it harder to have special things and forces them to escalate into gods and cosmic forces which is boring.
I don't know how to explain it but no, the world feels very fake, like a kid playing with different toy sets mashed together. I'll see when I'm further into the story.
>characters seem well written
The characters steal the spotlight and all the writing efforts from your story and your character which annoys me because I hate most of them.
>Game lets you saveb***h way too much
It does and I like it. Unfortunately saving and loading is very long even on a SSD so it makes it annoying.
>combat
I agree.
I also feel like rogue is pretty useless outside of opening chests, doors and disarming traps. They have no toolset and stealth attacks are shit.
>There seem to be a lot of paths you can take, so that's cool
It's true sometimes but some other times the dialogue choices are really lacking some obvious options.
I'd give it a 7/10 for now
>why does everyone on Ganker hate it and every reviewer suck it's dick so much?
Culture war
i just hate how my character has voice lines outside dialogue "events" but during those he just stares and makes stupid frickin faces while crossing his arms
It looks like it was planned to have a voiced protagonist but they cut it out mid-dev because these silent camera shots on your character moving saying nothing are really strange.
yeah i dont know what its like with a more normie race but its too frickin comical with dorf
Your dorf looks like he's just really disappointed in Ketheric.
the arms crossed gesture and the tilted head "is this homie for real?" look i can try and capture later but its by far the most baffling.
should i play pathfinder wotr or dos2 after this?
DOS 2 if you liked blowing up barrels and want more.
I didn't play pathfinder so idk
My human has a constant look of disdain on his face which I find pretty funny
shadowc**t really made me think cleric was dogshit. maybe they are early on but god damn do they pick up when you start fighting dead shit and have more spells than sacred flame/guidance bolt
Light cleric is where it's at. Her subclass sucks donkey dick.
A big moment for me was realizing sanctuary and magic weapon summons are a bonus action spell.
magic weapon is so versatile. the summon range is insane and works as a decoy in itself.
i haven't fricked with sanctuary yet but i can see its purpose.
Sanctuary is insanely op because it also has huge fricking range. Imagine running karlach in to go ape shit then just casting sanctuary on her and all the enemies just stand around and can't do anything. Better yet they blew their turns running up to her. It's a level one spell too, it never falls off it's 100% immunity basically as a bonus action long range level 1 spell.
>It's a level one spell too
ah FRICK ive been missing out. i hardly ever use level 1 spells now
Clerics are great because of sanctuary alone, it's a fricking busted spell.
>get downed near Avatar of Myrkul
>can't heal/raise because chill aura
>sanctuary up, run up to the body in his melee range
>next round dimension door out with the character in tow, heal character to full in safety, back in action at near full hp because of amulet that maximizes healing
>amulet that maximizes healing
damn do tell? all i have on mc is the auto rez one
I don't remember where I got it, but I think I bought it from one of the merchants in act 2? Maybe the one that asks you to get the git egg? Or maybe in Underdark? But it's a very powerful item that completely changes how you interact with potions and allows you to very easily top up out of combat without having to rely on rest.
oh what the frick maybe i am using that. i would have to double check.
but yeah i gave the c**t the egg and she stopped selling to me anyway. oh well
Love this item like you wouldn't believe, I try it to abuse it by passing it around but it's a legendary item passing as blue.
Yeah, same thing, it's probably one of the strongest amulets in the game along with the amulet of misty step that I've been using ever since I got it early in the game. Boots that I got from the drow that got trapped in a cave-in are another item that is pretty much never unequipped.
It maximizes the healing done on wearer, so bear that in mind, its use in combat is limited, so best to keep it on your biggest tank that takes the blows. It's much more useful out of combat when you can freely swap between who wears it when they chug potions.
>It maximizes the healing done on wearer, so bear that in mind, its use in combat is limited, so best to keep it on your biggest tank that takes the blows. It's much more useful out of combat when you can freely swap between who wears it when they chug potions.
ah okay. was thinkin of the auto rez being good since that shit saved my ass on the skele boss fight when the mindflayer decided to frick my ass when we rushed to save the nightsong b***h.
Autorez is also not bad, but dying isn't so terrible in this game anyway given how abundant the scrolls of revival are.
>rage doesn't remove frightened
This is the shittiest game in existence.
Blame 5e, but don't worry. You just need to pick the shittiest subclass and hit level 6 to suspend (but not end) frightened on yourself when you rage 🙂
>shittiest subclass
lmao lern2throw
In tabletop. I have no clue how barbs differ in BG3.
The enraged throw and attack are bg3 only I think. Great subclass in game
Magic barb?
Magic barb is awful outside of playing second fiddle as support for casters because he can replenish spellslots of another caster. Berserker is superior to it in every way.
do barbs get anything useful 9-12? might just start going into fighter multi-class now
>Gale wants to talk about his 'task'
>it's a gay as frick scene again
god fricking dammit Larian holy fricking shit
