A glorified art project.
game goes from being amazing to being boring suddenly. until that cliff happens, you're going to have fun.
Imagine a grayscale drawing of a tired, frowning homeless man in a snowy winter. Imagine his desperation. Feel sad. Now listen to melancholic orchestral music. Feel sadder. Now listen to a single blast of a foghorn, distorted. You have now completed the authentic Frostpunk experience simulator (very emotional).
>turn music off
>start playing happy music playlist
>here comes the sun starts playing
>temperature rises
A fun puzzle game. It looks like a city builder, but each of the scenarios are actually puzzles. Every one of them to my knowledge has a no-death solution on the hardest difficulty and your actions are quite deterministic, so there's little random chance.
This is actually a very good summary of the game, minus the puzzle part.
Until you unlock the mechs and game turns into baby mode.
What were they thinking?!
A moderately enjoyable strategy/puzzel hybrid with an emphasis on the campaign instead of sandbox play.
>what am I in for?
Child labour.
>*presses keep working*
>In the 41st millenium, war never stops
Very fun game, little to no replay value. Very much worth a play though, but once you have beaten it there is no reason to play again, which is honestly the only weakness of the game.
A really fun 50-90 hours!
>extincion level scenario
>make people work some extra shifts
>YOU SURVIVED BUT AT WHAT COST YOU FASCIST MONSTER
Lmao, this. Like their other game, this war of mine, it's atmospheric, but it promises to be a much deeper game than it actually is.
Send kids to grab wood
>OH MY GOD THIS IS CHILD LABOUR HOW COULD YOU DO THIS???
Have to eat soup or starve
>OH MY GOD, SOUP? WE'RE ALL GOING TO DIE!!!
A moronic punishing system with no reasons to exist.
Ganker implements new CAPTCHA
>OH MY GOD THIS IS WORSE THAN A NUCLEAR WAR I CAN'T GO ON LIKE THIS
I honestly think that Frostpunk manages to be much smarter than most other city builders by showing that the general populace is very, truly, massively, extremely moronic.
Daily reminder that when the new captcha dropped post quality improved for a period
Remember all the b***hing about it? How long has it been, 2 years now?
>How long has it been, 2 years now?
No way it was more than 6 months ago and I’m being generous
/vst/ hates it because they dont give a frick about anything but gameplay unless theyre writing /misc/ fanfics in EU4
>/vst/ hates it because they dont give a frick about anything but gameplay
All is as it should be, go enjoy storyhomosexualry on the massive pile of shit that is vrpg
Hope you like TNO or Clannad
OP here, I'm loving the game but the drop to -76 degrees filtered me hard. My last saves are the autosave right before it happens and one all the way back on like day 12 right before my scouts get to Winterhome.
Don’t expect to win the first time through, there is a learning curve.
As the others said, a puzzle game that might as well be a visual novel for how it focuses on the art more than the game.
You're not reacting to events so much as learning what happens and hitting reset until you achieve the highscore you desire (number of people and deaths).
You also get told off for enacting survival laws... in an autocratic society fighting extinction... set in an era where humanity was discovering how to be moustache twirlingly heartless.
It does manage to avoid being cogfop but everything is still coloured brown.
11-bit moved on from Siege of Sarajevo in This War of Mine to Siege of Leningrad in Frostpunk.
