diablo 4 because it's simple and moron friendly, path of exile once you realize it's just as simple and moron friendly as diablo 4

Diablo 4 is unironically one of the best ARPGs ever made.

Path of Exile. Anyone who says Daiblo 4 is a blizztroon.

i have 700 hours in poe already and counting but anyone who has to ask this question in the first place will get filtered by it in the first 5 hours.

It takes way more than 5 hours to get filtered. By the time you've screwed up enough to have a bad character that's preventing you from killing a boss it's way way later than 5 hours. Probably late campaign after 20+ hours or something

PoE, its free, if you enjoy the leveling and hate all the deep systems on PoE than you can try out D4.

    don't give blizzard money.
    PoE is better anyway.

if you like something casual try "V Rising".

I really have no idea why poe is so popular. It feels and plays like korea mmo, its in the same category as something like cabal online.

There are no other games with even similar complexity level or feeling of progression
Weirdly enough grand strategy games and football manager are the only games that scratch that itch for me. Everything else seems like a theme park to me

The difference is that if you are good at the game you can do all the game content in 400 hours against 40000 hours in korea mmos, the problem is that trade leagues gives the wrong expectation of what you should do in PoE, if you are a SSFchad you have more enjoyment of the game because you don't need to interact with any other player.

it gets good after the initial slog but they force you to slog through the slog over and over

        Anonymous

This. There is that transition period where you start just *getting it* and the whole game opens up for you
Obviously it only happens once but god damn learning PoE was such a beaut

I might actually give it an another go, but i understood that the endgame involves mandatory trading.

          Anonymous

          It involves trading sure.
Seems weird tho to straight up refuse playing games with trade. Is that common?

            Anonymous

I don't know if its common, but i refuse to play games wich force interaction with other players.

Then PoE is not for you unless you’re willing to play solo self found which blocks trading

the only real way to enjoy poe is ssf hc I am sick and tired of pretending its not.

I normally get 40/40 every league with 4~6 days played on my character, that's not much

and you can move with WASD

V Rising is not better than both.
Straight up dogshit game with time wasting mechanics and "muh crafting" bullshit, no real progression.

These games have gone in completely different directions and don't really compete with each other. Diablo is for the casual players and PoE is the opposite.

poe if you want to think maybe once per hour, d4 if you want to never think at all

diablo 4 is not an arpg, think of it more like lost ark but without any endgame or any real multiplayer interaction

  14. 10 months ago

Diablo 3 would be a better place to start D4 is actually just not as good and very boring in comparison

I don't get why so many prefer 3 over 4. Campaign of 3 is horrendous, nobody is going to deny that. I guess people prefer the endgame of 3, but in terms of activities 4 is just the better version of that. Maybe the skills and gear in 4 is lacking.

NTA but 3 is probably just more accessible in general for someone new to the genre and isn't a thinly veiled skinnerbox like D4
