I'm not too out of touch, I used to use my internet time to watch twitch streams. halfway through my sentence, our institute banned it and we could only watch youtube

there's good news and bad news about the vaccine, bad news is the side effects are sci-fi movie tier but the good news is they probably won't happen to you OR you can get potentially sue for a settlement
The "vaccine" just gives you a temporary boost to your immune system. Once it wears off (like a month or two) your immune system is weaker. It doesn't actually fight Covid specifically. Regardless, Covid is supernaturally contagious, but it's not actually that dangerous. It's like a super flu, but just like the flu, it only really kills people with serious health complications (like 80-year olds).
I'm not a conspiracy theorist normally, but it's obvious by looking at the paper trail that the governments around the world created Covid and knew the outbreak was coming. But I don't know if it was intentional, and if so, what the purpose could possibly be. It made certain people a ton of money, but I kinda' doubt it was worth tanking the global economy for it. And I don't buy people who say shit like, "This is all about control," because that's a cop-out answer you can throw at anything.

Past 9 years have been crazy. PC is by far the dominant platform for gaming, but GPU prices are still crazy. Though you can build a pretty respectable machine by buying used parts, so that's a bonus. I'd definitely recommend doing that.
There are a lot of games on PC that I wouldn't call "underrated" but are well worth checking out to see what might have flown under your radar.

It was ok. the first few months was very rough. Nothing really changed to make it better, i just accepted my circumstances. good behaviour went a long way and it helped that I'm white (no offense)
We had our little gangs that were racially separated. If you were latino or black and didn't associate with the racial gangs, you would be a target. Our racial gang didn't really care for outsiders. i did my own thing and they left me alone, thank god for that. But overall, where i was placed was pretty non-violent

PS4 won last gen and comes into this one with a serious headstart, but the wind is blowing in Xbox's direction. Microsoft is doing a much better job of making an appealing offering to consumers and has been making some really high profile acquisitions (they now own Activision and Bethesda, for example - the next Elder Scrolls will be PC + Xbox exclusive). Also, their backwards compatibility feature is pretty great and might be useful for you if you've got lots of games lying around from 9+ years ago, and the Series X is easier to find in stock than the PS5.
I don't have a lot of old xbox games but it sounds like having a PC is enough right? Microsoft exclusives will be PC too i assume? I'll probably just stick with a switch and PC for now. Maybe get a PS5 down the road when i make more money.

I didn't say OP was evil, I'm saying from a law perspective there's many way he could still end up in jail.
Its not that OP isn't based and acted in self defense, its the laws surrounding it. He got kicked out of the house, threatened, then time passed (probably brief), and he shot his stepdad thru a window from outside (rest in piss).
Prosecutors could argue it wasn't self defense in the same way that its not self defense when someone attacks you and you shoot them when then run away. Nevertheless if OP didn't sperg out he could very easily have gotten it dropped down to a "crime of passion" manslaughter which would've been lower than 22 years, I don't think he would have strictly gotten out with self defense in our shitty justice system.

The difference here is that the father said he would track him down an kill him and his mother, that makes it a long term threat. He isn't only dangerous in the moment after saying something like that.
It still isn't self defense. The threat has to be imminent. Otherwise it's expected that you get the authorities involved. If he did it when the father was waving a gun around/pointing it at him, he'd be fine. But he didn't, so it's pretty much clear cut second degree murder. Probably could have gotten it reduced if he handled the court better, though.

If you're unsentenced, your status is just 'remand'. If conditions allow, there will be a remand unit you will placed in until sentencing. Currently, conditions are overcrowded, and remands are mixed with the general population

"Prison" is typically for incarceration sentences lasting longer than one year. A lot of judges will purposely sentence someone to like 366 days just so they have to serve in prison and not a jail.

Pretty much all Fromsoft stuff is worth playing. Demon Souls, Dark Souls 1-3, Bloodborne, Sekiro and Elden Ring. If people say otherwise in this thread is because these games got so massive so of course Ganker contrarian engine kicked in.
Also Hollow Knight, Rabi Ribi, Metroid Dread and Ori 2 are some of the best metroidvanias ever made and they were all released while your were doing time. If everything you said it's true, I wish you the best and I hope you can put your life back together.

I'd say just go play Elden Ring right now, its the most recent release so you won't feel late to the party + its a seriously fricking phenomenal game. You won't regret it.

That game is not underrated by any stretch. Its massively popular and successful by every metric.
You should definitely play it, but play Dark Souls first. Elden Ring is effectively Dark Souls 4 and there's a serious progression in difficulty and actiony-ness. All of them are definitely worth your time, so I really recommend you play through the Dark Souls trilogy in order before you play Elden Ring.

Carrion is one of my favorite games, you play as The Thing basically, a tentacle monster and you escape a facility and gore and smash everything in sight, 2d pixel art style with really fluid controls
