>say word
>disc still works
Sorry but you need to authenticate to an online server that shut down in 2016.
The only safe bet is piracy. Always has been, always will be.
happened to my ac2 dvd. drm servers were shutdown. support also denied transfering the key to my uplay account.
Valve shills coping hard lately
what the frick is so confusing about putting a disk in your disk drive
>Blu-Ray XL disks have a 128 GB of space
>no video game has an excuse for being more than that, it's just bloat or sloppy coding if you it's over 100GB
>perfect medium for holding modern games, with room for DLC if you have writeable drive
Physical media should become the norm again
>>Blu-Ray XL disks have a 128 GB of space
>72MB/s at 13 fricking thousand rpm
lmao no
You'd have to install the game regardless. Refinement of the read speed of physical media took a backseat to faster internal storage methods.
>have to install
Not on Switch
>access Google
kys
>I pretend to know, but I make shit up
kys
>goalpost moving
Switch cards hold a lot less data.
>less data
Not an argument.
Also 32 GB are more than enough.
When a game is larger than that, then the developer fricked up, unless it's a live service game with more and more and more and more content and those are download only, which makes sense.
>steam users think they own their games
>steam users think steam isn't anti piracy DRM
No, very few people know how it works actually
Steamworks is DRM. you can find games on Steam without any DRM. I have a copy of FTL on my laptop that I just copied and pasted and it works fine without steam being installed.
>without any
>requires the garbage Steam client to download
choose one
>steam users think steam isn't anti piracy DRM
Stop making shit up, Tim. Nobody thinks that.
Steam itself isnt DRM, and steamworks is so easy to crack its a joke.
>it's a joke
so why is it there in the first place then, Gabe?
Why are you fricking people, Gabe?
Why do you force them onto shitty OS, Gabe?
Steam itself isn't DRM, it's a distribution platform like GOG but with a fancy pants (slow and bloated) client instead of a website.
STEAMWORKS is the actual DRM and it can be clearly seen with the lack of it in DRM free releases on Steam like Super Meat Boy, FTL, Witcher 3, ETG and even a frickton of old games like quake (including the remasters) 1-3 and every single Double Fine game. Games with Steamworks are usually DRM controlled but a handful of these games might also be DRM free since all you need to do to get them started without steam is to create a .txt file with the games SteamID number in it or delete all of the steam .dll files in the games directory to get it too run
>isn't DRM
>can't download anything without garbage DRM client
CHOOSE ONE, YOU moronic FRICK
Fricking EGS has a FRICKING open source implementation at the very least
But you CAN download these DRM free games without the client moron-kun, all you need is the login credentials of an account that can access these games, knowledge of the commands needed to download directly from Valves repositories and said games SteamID.
See this: https://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=873543244
You don't need the client for this to work, only a web browser and an account
>don't need the client
Console Tab in the Steam client
are you fricking moronic, moron?
And why can't I just download via web browser without jumping through hoops, moron?
https://developer.valvesoftware.com/wiki/SteamCMD
https://developer.valvesoftware.com/wiki/Steam_browser_protocol
>no client
>download a client
you are moronic
>I want options!
>N-NO! not like that...
lol, lmao even
I don't want shitty DRM clients, that even block operating systems, YOUFRICKING moron
>Sucks Timmys Dick based on "open sauce"
>Doesnt realise that ESG works the exact same way and so does EVERY distribution platform
homie, the only difference is that GOG and Humble clients are accessed by web browsers
and web browsers are available for all sorts of operating systems, plus open source so you could even port them to even more OS.
meanwhile with shitty garbage Steam you are blocked and games stop working.
So yeah, GOG great. 100% DRM FREE
Steam shit.
What modern operating system does the steam (graphical or CMD) client not run on? It even runs on ARM architecture. By your own definition, GOG isn't even DRM free either since you still need to download the games from THEIR site
If you're going to argue that a web browser counts as DRM then you're a homosexual.
Steamiggers are moronic, that explains that.
I think these posters are even bots, because the so called arguments are always the same lies.
Not the browser itself homosexual the website, the only difference between it and a stand alone client is that it is written entirely in HTML and probably a bit of JS
>W7
So you havent even tried running it? It still runs fine (for the moment) and the CMD client will keep working on it for quite some time since it lacks the chrome integration
ok so how do I download steam games without using the stand alone client
Read the thread gayula, it has already been posted in the very same reply chain your having a melty in. You can also STILL use the same old client and if you have been too moronic to try then you'll be too moronic to play any new vidya at all
games without using the CLIENT
>just use the same old client
>you are moronic
You are actually. And you are ESL or just stupid.
>Gets proven wrong and that shit still works just like it has done in the last decade
>ESL
LMAO, not my problem, if you had actually used fricking Google or even just followed the links posted you'd been playing vidya right now. Also, the CMD client and the standard client are not the same
>>HOW DO I DOWNLOAD GAMES *WITHOUT CLIENT*
>JUST USE CLIENT
>hurr proven wrong
ESL, just go away
>CMD client is not Steam
kys, you fricking moron
>>HOW DO I DOWNLOAD GAMES *WITHOUT CLIENT*
>>HOW DO I DOWNLOAD GAMES *WITHOUT CLIENT*
>>HOW DO I DOWNLOAD GAMES *WITHOUT CLIENT*
How do I download any other software off the internet?
I USE A FRICKING WEB BROWSER.
Not so with shitty Steam.
Go on anon, what else do you want to get off your chest?
You are moronic.
Now dilate.
You are all around an embarrassing sort of person and I can't imagine your life has any redeeming qualities to it
Sorry j don't care if you do or don't use steam but reading your posts shows pretty clearly that you got some fricked up priorities and personal issues, just wanted to let you know
>blah blah blah
kys
>I don't care, but I just have to defend shit Steam, because idk
you are a paid shill / bot. A low life. pathetic.
You are like a moron defending Amazon or Google, both also shitty corporations.
>it still keeps running
>still
kys
>CMD client
>that's not Steam
kys
Windows 7, frick you
It's not open source.
You are hookedand have to eat shit that Gabe gives you. You are an NPC, I am not.
So frick you.
You will get a Windows 12 subscription, to keep playing your subscriptiong ames, fricking cuck.

>modern
frick you
>browserworking on XP
factually incorrect, dumbfrick troony
>install
no, frick you
>mentally ill Linux
no
homie, you can barely access Google on web browsers that are dated 2012 and older anymore, even GOG doesn't work on any browsers still functioning on XP
>So yeah, GOG great. 100% DRM FREE
lol
lmao
https://www.gog.com/forum/general/drm_on_gog_list_of_singleplayer_games_with_drm/page1
that's a thread of a mentally ill moron.
>it's only drm when it fits my narrative
>it's DRM when the software downloads a highscore table from a server (optionally)
>it's DRM when the software downloads daily random challenges from a server (optionally)
>this is like Steam DRM
>wait, Steam is actually not DRM
>btw.when there are youtube videos included/linked to, that's actually not DRM, because I'm mentally ill
you are mentally ill and fricking moronic
>some games are
>some games aren't
>you figure it out
>we will just grab 30%, thanks, idiots
what the frick is this shit?
The devs themselves can choose not to use steamworks if they want. Theres a bunch of games on steam that you can open even with steam closed.
>the devs
THE FRICKING STEAM *GARBAGE* STORE doesn't show you which is which, despite that info being known to Valve.
Plus devs can add any DRM they want at any time on top of that
And you can't download anything "without DRM", which means there is not a single DRM free game on Steam
>you can't download anything "without DRM"
https://www.pcgamingwiki.com/wiki/The_big_list_of_DRM-free_games_on_Steam
I don't care about troony wikis
WHY IS THIS SHIT NOT IN THE FRICKING STORE?
>GOG users think they own their internet
>GOG users think that internet isnt anti piracy DRM
According to EU laws I own all my steam games, too bad you're an NA cuck not protected by your own institutions.
>the US is the only advanced economy that has no federal laws that protect worker's rights
Holy kek imagine being an americuck.
>it's just contaminate the world period
thanks for the update ESLkun
>you will own nothing and you will like it
false flag gayging?
your digital downloads are WORSE to the envronment, than physical media
cope,you dumb steamigger
Ticktok digital gay the day the server going down is coming. Steam daddy can ban games they don't like too lmao.
the whole comparison of digital games vs digital videos doesnt work.
There's actually legit reasons to own physical videos. Audio/picture fidelity, making of featurettes, etc. This just isn't the same as games. For something like anime.... dude just pirate the FuniDub off of nyaa if you need the Funimation version of an anime that badly.
Games are always exactly the same, whether physical or digital. Except you could have the same game installed on multiple devices through Steam, like having Tekken installed on your desktop, your laptop and Deck all at once. Great for games you would want to play anywhere. And you could of course tone down the settings for each. With games we are now reaching a point where more and more major game releases are not being cracked. Or take several months to crack. And one last point, Steam has an extremely reliable record and is the only digital storefront that has lasted almost 20 years. And you can still redownload the copy of Half-Life 2 you bought in 2004.
Idk, long story short I have been waiting 18 years for Steam to take my games away. It has never happened. When I was a child, my parents took my games away. I trust Steam more than I trust my own parents.
This is the only good and best response. No need to post anymore end thread
>And you can still redownload the copy of Half-Life 2 you bought in 2004.
You can't. If you want to install HL2 you can only get the version valve has messed around with for 20 years. If you want to install HL2 with the original DVD you also can't, steam will run a check during the install and start downloading the newer one.
You can't even use the steam console to install the original version because it pre-dates the existence of depots.

>durr owning the things you buy is le bad
Ok moron. Enjoy your subscription service full of troony and Black person games
>steam games can't have drm or require third party launchers
Nice bait
>it's just contaminate the world period
Digital and physical media both contaminate the world. Steam has a library of nearly 93,000 games(plus their community hubs that have forums, screenshots, videos, streams, reviews, etcetera). That's a shitload of servers to manufacture and maintain.
that is some great cable management porn
you are just moronic esl-tard
anti-steam esl homosexuals can't be so moronic lol
>No physical
fine, I will pirate
>but you need to beat denuvo
ok, i did beat it
>NOOO YOU ALSO NEED TO AUTHENTICATE IT WITH THE OFFICIAL SERVER 😉
ok, i will emulate the authentication server then
>NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO YOU ALSO NEED TO PLAY ONLINE ;))
ok, i will emulate the online player service then
choose wisely gaybenboi
>i did beat it
sure you did
sure I did it gaybencuckyboi
>only thing available from the fan server is access to the Hero Editor
>no updates for the past couple years
again, sure you did
uga buga steam bad
twomad just DIED and all you can fricking talk about is some ancient PC retro shit???
what the FRICK is wrong with you??? Have some respect???
With Steam it's the same shit:
>Does the game have DRM? Which one? Does the game require a new account?
Steam only takes care of installing additional dependencies - except when it does not.
good goy, veery goood
Yes physical media is worthless.
I can just pirate the games.
>Physical media is bad bad I'm glad it died! I love digital games
>haha you FOOL, they can take away your games at any moment! YOU DON'T OWN ANYTHING!
>Y-you're wrong they would never do that!
>OOOOOOOOOOOOOOH SCREEEEECH SCREEEECH
>mfw
Thanks to the Steam marketplace, a raspberry pi, and a bot, I haven't had to pay for a game with real money in years.
I get anywhere between $-10 to $40 a month (Averages out to about $25) for doing absolutely nothing.
Thanks Valve!
What type of bot? The ones who buy low and sell high or the ones who farm items like CS boxes?
I would still buy the physical ones if they would produce them. It feels like the OP is a moron with his moronic pic. MUH CONTAMINATED, then go ahead and kys, would be the first step for a better world homosexual
Can't wait for a house fire to burn that shit down.
>ABLOOO BLOOOO ME FEES FEES HURT ABLOO BLLOOO HOPEFULLY SOMETHING BAD HAPPENS TO YOU ABLOO BLLOOO
Gawd damn brah go suck on some dick homosexual
can't wait for you to get dementia and forget your passwords and / or Steam shutting down and / or going streaming only lmao
