boring and gay compared to FFTA and i dont care what anyone else thinks
I really like both. Too different for me to compare. I felt like in ffta though my team would end up stuck in one job forever because it was great. Sniper, assassin, fighter, etc. Not really a complaint.
I absolutely love both
FFT is pretty hard to get into, since its so frickin slow and that early fight with the archers can be bullshit. Its just that grinding takes fricking forever.
But if you stick to it, u can make some broken units and a have a blast. Also the story is frickin phenomenal, possible the best story out of any FF title.

The FFTA story is one of the best stories ever told in a video game, not because of the quality of the writing but because it causes the same divide in real life between people that see the importance of not letting escapism consume you vs. losers like you that think the story sucks because they too wish they could escape their shit life into a video game world instead of dealing with reality.

Just know you should grind one battle before dorter. By then you'll know if it's for you or not. Also, spend your jp as smart as you can.

level up a white mage or two by spamming every single sidequest early on - it will break the game and you will feel like a badass when the cast holy.

Hell on earth if you don't look at the tutorial. I'm serious, look at it. I know it's slow, I know it's boring, the game even lampshades that with one of the skills.
Other than that, one of the best FFs in terms of story and music, and a top notch turn-based strategy game. Like most job system FFs it can be easily broken but that's not a big deal.

Against Elmdore, all you have to do is strip one or two units of all armour to entice the assassins to attack them and ignore Ranpha. It's bullshit, but never unwinnable.

2 hours of decent story and 48 hours of tedious battle gameplay, most of it being grinding. Hope you're playing on an emulator at 4x speed.
I beat it the first time when I was like 8, so if you, As a grown adult, find it too hard, never play games again.
Otherwise, it's the best FF game, and I really like the others.

Which complete mod are you talking about? Celdia's patch supposedly doesn't work on real hardware and even then patched games might cause bugs so save states are preferable.

I enjoy the tactics gameplay, but I've trivialized a good chunk of it by doing random battles to get the skills that I want and unlock the classes that I want. Ramza can just teleport anywhere and dual sword anything to death now.
