Anon of course it is, it's probably his mom having a gaff of how her boy is quirky and smart, she thought she should show his talent to the family group chat.
People that don't understand realistic racing always say that. If you're used to "heckin nitro boost double tap to drift neato bing bing wahoo!" arcade racers it's hard to wrap your brain around the concept of actual racing line, braking, etc.
What used to really cook my grits was when the same people that would call Gran Turismo boring would then go grind to level 99 in a fricking RPG. RPGs are literally painful to play, it's almost as bad as watching someone else play a game on Twitch. You aren't fighting anything, you're shouting suggestions at the actual characters and hoping they do it.
Try installing powertools via decky loader, then within powertools while you're playing GT4, disable SMT and see if that helps. That probably sound like gibberish but give it a google. Helped me with GT3 on Deck.
in advanced graphics settings, set hardware download mode to 'disabled (ignore transfers)'.
you'll lose minor effects such as the vehicle sprites on the stopwatches as well as sunflare effects, but the game will run at full speed.
GT4 IS a snooze fest. The races are rolling "catch the rabbit" starts and the menu soundtrack literally put you to sleep. If it wasn't for all the beautiful PS2 car models this game would be pretty terrible.
I'd say use the prize randomizer mod and try not to buy cars. Only issue is that that fat brit tard fricked some turbo sounds for his actual mod and is too lazy to fix it so occasionally you need to de-equip turbos to load the event. You can re-equip it when the event is loaded (if you don't get the rare set-up menu freeze). Also you'll have to use a dump of the online test version, but that's easy to find.
I know this one is technically better but Gran Turismo 3 looks more like a cross over betweena vintage arcade racer and a sim, it really just has more soulful graphics overall, especially on the menus.
Play GT 3. 1-3 has that arcade feeling to it. GT4 is obsolete if you ask me. 4 is just worse version of latest GT. It tries a bit too much to be realistic that cars feel like a boat. Kinda reminds me of GTA IV. Car sounds are boring. Menus are the only thing good about GT4 at this point.
Any GT or Forza came after (or before) it. GT4 has terrible physics. Might as well play a better sim.
NTA but GT6 was the series' peak to me.
I know it's an unpopular opinion, but I stand by it.
It's a fair opinion. GT went on that weird online DLC shit. GT6 was the last GT game in a way.
Forza 4 also holds a similar place for many people. Honestly by that point, simulation aspect was mostly achieved for both series.
>It's a fair opinion. GT went on that weird online DLC shit. GT6 was the last GT game in a way.
This is what settles it for me really, GT Sport was a literal insult to classic offline fans, even on the commercials about how older GT's direction was bad (youtube.com/watch?v=LnJtRYZ9-ZA) and it killed my interest in the series, GT7 was better I guess, but not by a whole lot, the campaign's so linear and boring compared to even GT5 and GT6.
People frequently say how GT5 and GT6 were letdowns back in the day but I honestly enjoy them, they have pretty solid career modes, best graphics and physics in the series. The only "complaint" I see about them is about the "muh premium cars" which is so stupid honestly.
Indeed, and speaking as someone who uses the bumper camera most of the time... I didn't even notice the difference between Premim ones or not, so that wasn't much of an issue. All I cared then was that both had over 1000 cars and that Ferrari and Lamborghini finally got more love... It's a shame how GT5 and GT6 get so much hate.

Right? GT6 is perfect, my only issue with it is not having endurance races or even races that last a bit longer than 30 minutes, but you are covered by 5 anyway, so completely fine.

I'd say that's why I prefer GT6 over GT5 really, the Endurance Races were always too much for me, so I never finished it, GT6 reducing them made finishing the campaign more manageable for me, but to each their own, it's good that the PS3 got GT5 being more traditional, and GT6 being more streamlined, for both sets of fans to enjoy, PS3's GTs were really underrated and overlooked then.
Go right ahead man, best entry in the series. Gotta love the Toyota Minolta
My zoomer gf asked to play some racing and gt4 was the only one I had. Her reaction: "this is such a snoozefest"
Zoomers need constant extreme stimuli. It takes only a second for something to lose their attention
wtf this kid's brain is ruined. hope this is staged

Sorry, I can't tell what's going on. I'm too old.
>multitasking might possibly be a sign potential braindamage
part of me wants to give you shit for your comment but.. the dread is too much.
might possibly be a sign potential braindamage
??? Who are you quoting, anon? It's clear the video is just satirical in some weird cringe way
>alt+F4s every movie after 5 seconds
look mom I'm multitasking! I'm smart!

And she is right. Simgays ruined racing games.
Let me know if you can get it to run smoothly on the Steam Deck.

look up a mod that implements GT3 style camera, makes gameplay a lot more fun
Gt4 was too stiff and bloated
yeah I guess
Nothing you can do to stop you either?
OK and?

My annual playthrough of Gran Turismo 4 is in november-december.

GT3 was always one of my least favorites
Well GT4's physics feels boring to me. For retro sim, GT2 is my favorite. Otherwise I just play the latest one for sim games.
Obsolete to what? GT5?

I hope you're using Driving Force Pro input API.
