I'm having a really hard time getting into Final Fantasy XIV
The game is super slow, boring and tedious
For an "MM"O no one ever talks and it's even more lonely, the entire reason I'm playing is for interactions with other players
The combat feels really weird and awkward
The quests are incredibly annoying with the constant running back and forth
Does it get better or is it not for me?

14 is shit, play 11 on horizon or something old 11 is actually a good mmo
Is 11 actually better than 14. 14 threads seem very weird with weird players.
11 is very dated, the best way to grind is still to go out and kill random mobs as opposed to questing.
The UI is clunky, the map is clunky and devs were still really trying to figure out what the frick an MMO should be until WoW came along.
It isn't bad at all, it's still pretty lively and people do actually talk to one another (I joined a random world and managed to find a Linkshell for English speakers)
One really cool thing though, becuase the game is so old you get this feeling of exploring ancient ruins, running around a world knowing it was formally populated but it now barren.
I looked on the marketboard and saw listings from 2002 and people with their searching reading stuff like "[Cleared X raid 2011]"
Its like stepping into a time portal.
It's not better at all though, I would even pick OSRS over FF11 it is fun to possibly check out though.
Will I have to join a discord?
I played retail, Horizon 11 you might have to but retail was fine.
