so realistically what will the raids from FFXI include? they have already used salvage in one of the EW dungeons, sky stone and sea are already wasted, ultimate and omega are already being used, sky gods like byakko/suzaku are already used, promyvion enemies are already on the moon in endwalker, dynamis already means something completely different in xiv, absolute virtue is already basically used as well. personally, too bad we will probably never get Corsair and Puppetmaster

I am probably in the minority but I found even mainline MSQ Endwalker to be extremely terrible. Not-India was awful, Elpis was awful, Garlemald was ok except for that one mission where you got to play as a rando soldier after getting soul swapped which was awesome, the Moon was pretty meh, and Ultima Thule was awesome but then they killed it with how they treated the scions during it.
Don't get me wrong, post-Endwalker's story was awful too, but Endwalker needs to catch more flak for how stupid everything else was, too.
Only 4 things I didn't like about EW MSQ.

He said having every step be 1500 tomestones was a mistake. While incredibly likely, there's no proof it will be tied to the new Eureka at all.

Haven't played much throughout EW but I generally just did dailies and story quests.
I did join a static and do savage for the first two tiers but I don't feel like I really befriended those people, we never hung out outside of savage times. I guess I lied about never meeting anyone though I did meet them.

You can do every dungeon with NPC parties, but 90% of trials, and all raids, require human players.
As long as the mainline stuff is ok with NPCs, I'll do that. I'm sick of scheduling Turn runs or Crystal Palace parties. I'm sure that shit is irrelevant now but it's too much of a hassle, I'm too old to do that.
You can just use the duty finder and clear anything that isn't (extreme) or (savage) with a group that never speaks and only has half their skills on their bars.
Was the last time you played ARR? All normal content can just be queued and done in like one attempt.

Even as a BLU player, I'd be fine with the mount not being from BLU raids if it was ANYTHING other than cash shop. It is really disgusting how bad it's gotten, they did a lot of good completionist-reward type stuff in Shadowbringers with the card mount, morbol, pterodon etc. but we got none of that in Endwalker. Huge disappointment, and it only stings more when they create cool mounts only for paypiggies.

Complexity in other games is shit like in FFXI where you're playing BLU and you want to debuff the bird enemy but you know it's fire elemental so you can't hit it with INT down or STR down and because it's a bird you also can't reliably hit it with a fish ability but it's weak to amorph abilities. There are lots of little bits of knowledge you need to play optimally.
XIV doesn't have that. It's a hotbar action game. So yes, input strings are a level of complexity. We had other layers too until stupid homosexuals like you said "well TP is just one thing, it's not real skill so remove it", "well cross class skills aren't real skill and it's just one thing so remove it", "well CC abilities aren't real skill and it's just one thing so remove it" and on and on. Callouts are the most powerful third party tool in the entire game, and will carry more parties through all content than any amount of modding cheat codes could even conceive of. """Harder""" jobs only result in a degree of lost DPS, but no mechanics cannot be resolved with basic callout magic. The only skill floor increase with overly clunky jobs is the fact that people who are better at fighting the clunk (or are just memorizing one specific linear action plan) will parse higher.

There was never any "thinking" when it came to TP in XIV, lmao don't fricking fool yourself. The most engaging aspect of it was begging for your NIN (in ARR/HW) or your melees (in SB) to Goad you when you're spamming AoEs during dungeons or running some super high SkS build on SAM. The removal of TP hurt absolutely nobody, and in fact buffed all melees. Remember how sprint cost TP and was 100% free at all times for casters? Remember how 90% of melees just didn't use Goad at all even though it was an oGCD that was helpful because it allowed party members to continue doing damage? Yeah, I do.

They like Dragoons from other games and it carries them through the entire class experience. It's by far the dullest melee class with the fewest decisions to make. Leveling it was so insanely boring I honestly had to stop and only play it in pvp to finish it. The PvE iteration was just so garbage I can't even figure out how people stand it.
Being dogshit is the dragoon experience from other games. Its consistently one of the worst jobs in every game it appears in. 14 is actually the exception since dragoon is one of the stronger melees and has been meta more often than not.
It kinda boggles my mind that DRG in its current state is still more popular than MNK. Speaking personally, I really hate the gameplay of DRG. Maybe people have different tastes or maybe the aesthetic is more important to a lot of people and more appealing, I dunno
What salvages MNK is that at least the gameplay loop feels fast and fun. Yes, you are sticking to a pretty samey DPS flowchart, but at least you have high levels of mobility and the GCD is lower than normal, and you can mix up your combos, so it at least *feels* more fun since you're very active and can step out of the flowchart to mix things up if for whatever reason you feel the need to. DRG is just pure flowchart monotony.
