It has nothing to do with sunken cost fallacy. OP didn't say he wants to quit the game. He said he's tired of doing dailies i.e he want to stop doing dailies which just mean he's losing the equivalent of 75 cents a day
>do daily commissions >barely get any resource for pulls
Playing this shit as a f2p is terrible. Only have 3 SSRs and 2 of them only because I hit the 50% pity and then the actual pity.
I unironically play the game for the story and exploration. Not that the story is any good, mind, but I need the distraction sometimes and every nuGame is 10000x worse than genshin. As for old games, they require more time investment to get going and I have too much work to do for that these days.
Not him but it gets very boring very fast, even if it's only a few minutes total. Then after the commissions you have to do your resin grind, and your card grind now.
>resin grind, and your card grind now.
i literally do not spend any resin anymore after the battle pass hits max level, theres literally nothing i want to build or prefarm.
and even if there was, i hav like 200 resin things just sitting there from battle passes and updates.
It's just a dead fricking game. There barely ever anything to do. Blows my mind how it makes so much money when there's absolutely nothing to use power on, and nothing to work towards.
They're pretty core to how live service games work. Otherwise you have people who grind 24/7 til they max out and quit and other people who can't grind 24/7, fall massively behind and quit >wahhh I don't like live service games
cool then don't play them
There are tons of MMOs that operated without daily quest-style features and still managed to be successful. Some are even still running and enjoying millions of subscribers to this day.
so you're talking about OSRS? It's a cool game but I don't know why you would want every game to be like that, my argument still stands, you either have timegating or an infinite grind simulator that only NEETs can enjoy.

>OSRS aka nuRS with an old skin >also somehow the only game in existence because... it just is OK?
Holy shit you're not even trying, zoomzoom.
At least you're getting closer to the crux of the matter though. Ultimately the point is that grinding, when well designed, can be fun, especially with friends. Thus, you don't actually need muh dailies or other artificial ways to get players coming back: they will come back for the fun, and the fun is from their friends.
A similar scheme exists for singleplayer games: see the likes of rune factory/harvest moon series or animal crossing, etc.

You can grind all day in any game with dailies, and in most of them, you will even get some diminishing rewards for it. What you're missing is that when you get close to maxing out, your time just feels wasted grinding hours for 1/5th of a level or whatever. With dailies you can still play the game and feel rewarded for it, with an infinite grind the only rewarding thing is to quit.
Honestly you just sound like a fotm zoomer who doesn't like games that reward you for sticking with them.

yea, its knowing I can do some fun dailies and maybe even roll an upgrade when I wake up tomorrow, also a big pizza
Or people can just do the content when it comes out and stop playing in between. You're defending a gameplay model that is shitty and whose goal is monetization and engagement not fun. I have no idea why you're doing that. >b-b-but dailies are fun!!!!!
Or the dev could just design a system where playing itself is fun and not tie it to arbitrary progression systems and lockouts. We've had decades of games where people played them daily just because they were fun, not because of progression or in-game rewards, but that can't be monetized like a live service game.
>You're defending a gameplay model that is shitty and whose goal is monetization
You realize it can make the company money and also be fun? Look at what thread were in. Gambling makes the company more money, gambling is also fun. Don't believe me? Then why are wow, xiv, AND osrs filled to the brim with RNG loot drops. It doesn't directly make them any more money, but it's a fricking gacha system right there. >a system where playing itself is fun and not tie it to arbitrary progression system
Outside of esports, games without progression systems aren't fun, period. You're entitled to your own opinion of course. >We've had decades of games where people played them daily just because they were fun
Yeah and they're still there and they're still coming out with new ones. Go play them.
Yeah I feel you but it does only take 10 min at most and another 10 if you want to spend your resin but if you've been playing since the start you don't really need anything from the resin system.
You always have to grind new sets to outfit your new chars, either because your other sets are in use or because of things like new elements or mechanics.
Yeah but I'm not worried since I don't mind it taking longer to gear up a character since my other characters can make up for their shortcomings at the beginning.
stupid question but is the lore world bigger than the game world?
like people said it takes weeks to travel from here to there in liyue or make inazuma out to be massive with millions of youkai and races even where people go missing and shit, but the actual inazuma just isn't that big.
Frick, i didn't know there was a limit to this. I set an alarm 2 minutes before the pruchase resets to get some, guess i got too many.
When i can i reset my purchase limit?
Same, recently I just do my dailies, collect my primos and log out, I have fragile resin sitting in my inventory and I have not used any condensed resin in almost a week, I think I am burning out, I am not even looking forward to this new patch as I am sure the story will be some lame dogshit like it has been since the start of Inazuma.
Then don't.
Sunken cost fallacy and all that
It has nothing to do with sunken cost fallacy. OP didn't say he wants to quit the game. He said he's tired of doing dailies i.e he want to stop doing dailies which just mean he's losing the equivalent of 75 cents a day
How about daily doses
then why play a game thats nothing but dailies
>me spending 30h doing nothing but forest exploration along the Aranara quest
Is it?
i stopped playing for liek a month and jus tgo back into it in time for the next update
take a break and come back, no rush and its not going anywhere. the whole daily grind isnt required to enjoy it.
but my primos
you can pay like 5 bucks for the monthly pass and get way more that way
5 bucks and mental sanity> being burned out for 10 cents a day grind
>5 bucks
homie thats a McBurger right there. You wamt me to starve for 1 day?
>do daily commissions
>barely get any resource for pulls
Playing this shit as a f2p is terrible. Only have 3 SSRs and 2 of them only because I hit the 50% pity and then the actual pity.
I would rather just do dailies while listening to listening to music than induce nerve damage to my right hand doing Guild War in Granblue
You have it easy
Or grinding 6h a day in Love Live Festival to reach a good rank...
It's worse when you're trying to get achievements from the dailies and you go 3 days without getting a single npc commission.
there's literally zero reason to play the game, just enjoy the porn.
You can't fap everyday
anon...
You don't shoot out the same amount
But i would then need to log in every day for the primos anaon
buy it the month you come back...
But i bought it 2 weeks ago
I'm tired.
Take the uninstallpill

What story?
The one where half the cast is aliens and where papa john lee is everywhere and does everything every time.
What are you b***hing about? Daily Commissions take like 10 -15 min to complete all 4.

My wifes.
>bros
well you could just have a nice day instead
when does the next patch with the latern rite shit come out? i need to know how much more leisure time i have left before i have to get back to work
It's just a dead fricking game. There barely ever anything to do. Blows my mind how it makes so much money when there's absolutely nothing to use power on, and nothing to work towards.
Dallies are the worst thing to happen in video games. Literally turning fun into a job.

Take your meds

So stop. I just login every few months when the returner bonuses kick in and play until I get bored before repeating.
I am having a better time with Honkai Impact right now.
