Imagine if pokemon could have 3 types. Also imagine instead of x2 damage from super effective, it was only x1.5. So a rock/ground/water pokemon would receive x4 damage. Would pokemon be better like this?

Also every response here. /vp/ has dropped in quality

welcome newfriend 🙂
Please continue joining threads to be insufferable and useless. Remember back when /vp/ wasn't so shit? But you saw the other newbies show up and act like morons, so you joined them, partaking in the devolving of this board. Maybe if you didn't jerk off to aggron so much, you'd be a more valuable human being.
Then there's
who is attempting to falseflag as OP. I think. I'm not really sure, but you need to take your meds, you hyper autist.
You guys are pawns, dragged down by the other tards, resulting in the destruction of this board. Never change. You will live on this board, making nothing of your lives.
seeing a kaiju mon and first instinct is wanting to frick it is peak brainrot.

1.5*1.5*1.5= 3.3 and some change
doo doo faeces shitposter
It's closer to 3.4 mathlet, we round up in a 1st world country.
imagine Pokemon if all fairy types dropped dead on the spot.
Imagine a world where Clefable (whom I used to like in glorious Gen 1) was brutally executed for its crimes of being an annoying c**t with Magic Guard and the garbage Fairy typing.
Imagine imagine imagine
Magic Guard is the fun version of Clefable
Unaware is the obnoxious stall
don't kid yourself
all non-Cute Charm Clefable's are stall
in fact, there's probably never been a point where it was viable without being used as a stallmon
Sad that this devolved into a schizo thread. I think having a couple Pokémon have triple types could be interesting, as well as Pokémon having two times the same type (all weaknesses/resists are *4 and gets double stab)
they also should’ve done more dual type moves than just Flying Press
ARGHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH THIS FRICKINGPOSTS ISIS INFURIATING!!!!! SO WHAT IF IM OP?! I CAN FRICKING SAY WHAT I WANT?!!? I WILL HUNT ALLL FO FYOU FRICKIERA DOWN AND KILLL YOU ALL FUORR PISSSING ME OFF AND ANNMYOING MED D JUST JDIFRICKNIG DIEIEIEIEIEIEIEIIEIEIEIIEEUIIE
i will need to organize a campaign for OP rights so OPs like me get the freedom to say what they want.
THIS THREAD WILL DIE, AND I WILL NOT LET IT SURVIVE.
I have a pretty good concept for a 3rd Type system that I've had for a while. Disclaimer: I don't support the idea of 3rd Types at all, this is just how I think it should work if we have to live with it.
>3rd Type DOES NOT effect Type effectiveness whatsoever, it's a sort of "hidden" or recessive Type that does little to effect gameplay. It doesn't function like a normal Type, it just sort of vaguely suggestive of it. It's a way of suggesting "this Pokemon clearly has vague ties to this Type" but without going through the headache of having them effect Type matchups
>most pokemon have no hidden Type by default
>hidden Types determine a Pokemon's Hidden Power, they provide a small STAB bonus, and they provide a small Type resistance to themselves.....which I guess is a small exception to my first bullet rule, but whatever
>Pokemon which do not have a hidden Type by default can acquire one and change it to any of the Types
>Pokemon that DO have a hidden Type by default cannot change theirs, but the boost they give is bigger
So for example
>mankey has no hidden Type by default, you can later train Mankey to acquire a Grass hidden Type. This grants it 10% STAB on Grass Moves and a +1/8th Grass resistance
>Salazzle does have a hidden Type by default, they always have Dark innately. Which of course functions to suggest that Dark is essentially Salazzle's "3rd Type" in a sense. Since Salazzle cannot change their hidden Type, it gets a stronger boost. It grants a x1.3 STAB boost and a +1/4th resistance to Dark Type moves
oh yeah also Hidden Power is a base 90 attack if you're a Pokemon that has a hidden Type by default
>gyarados has dragon
>sudowoodo has grass
>lurantis has bug
>corviknight has dark
>Blissey has fairy
>malamar has water
The point is that this is a way of suggesting "this pokemon has adapted to have traits reminiscent of this Type, but not quite enough that it actually IS this Type"
has grass
23 years later and people still miss the point of Sudowoodo
>this pokemon has adapted to have traits reminiscent of this Type, but not quite enough that it actually IS this Type
I know reading comprehension is not high among zoom zooms but c'mon. Sudowoodo isn't Grass and SHOULDN'T be Grass, but it has naturally adapted to resemble a tree and therefore Grass is its Hidden Type because that is what it is intentionally adapting to resemble
You literally contradict yourself in your own post. Hidden types are a stupid concept, but if they were implemented, normal would make more sense for Sudowoodo.
oh yeah well you're gay
That's actually pretty cool. I would not mind if this was implemented into pokemon.
I agree. Also I wouldn't mind more moves similar to freeze-dry, where it also does super effective damage on some of the other higher tier types, like fairy and steel. (I absolutely love the steel type but honestly I like balance in pokemon more)
I appreciate the sympathy anon. But hey, at least there's a bit of discussion so far. I've thought about pokemon with 2 of the same type before. I wonder if there are any busted combinations, when applied to current pokemon
You're not OP but okay.
Instead do the following
>Remove super effective and resistance from typings
>Make number of known moves from 4 to 12
>Change format from 1v1 with a team of 6 to 4v4 with a team of 8
>Make number of known moves from 4 to 12
Oh cool even more filler to pad out Typhlosion's and Meganium's movepools.

Why not just play another monster game?
Mad because no dad
>Also imagine instead of x2 damage from super effective, it was only x1.5. So a rock/ground/water pokemon would receive x4 damage.
the number you're looking for is the cube root of 4. so, ~1.587
>Imagine if pokemon could have 3 types. Also imagine instead of x2 damage from super effective, it was only x1.5. So a rock/ground/water pokemon would receive x4 damage. Would pokemon be better like this?
Every time you all get it into your head that adding complexity/depth to Pokemon is desirable, you should remind yourselves that Pokemon is for children, first and foremost.
The most you can hope for is a sidegame / spinoff for an older audience.
