I still don't get why that remake is held in such high regard. It's mostly fine to me, which beats expectations, but it hardly improves on the original, which shouldn't have been hard to do. That's not a dig at the original, it's just old. The shooting sucks in the remake.

I would say the way they handled the reticle to prevent you from mag dumping was cleverly implemented and builds tension which is what RE is supposed to be like.

people were against cheap shitty DLCs, not full-on expansions.
Because in the mid 2000s we got full games. Now we get "Full games" that are no better than an early access title, where they add in features with DLC. However EVERY single Resident Evil DLC has sucked so I don't really know why anyone was expecting otherwise.

RE8 will seriously be way better in third person. RE7 was made for first person as it's much more horror focused, but 8 is mostly a wacky action game like 4. The only part the first person shines is Donna's basement. All of the combat and exploration will feel better in third person.

What were they thinking with "mercenaries mode" in RE8? It's weird and shockingly linear for something that was supposed to be roguelite (I guess). How hard was it to just copy exactly what RE4 did? Maybe with a few extra modes with the random powerups.

I feel like it would be easy to do the classic add a few crates and barrels and pallets to block exits to certain areas and then add a few extra doors in-between to create more routes. Idk I can't imagine it would be that much more work than what we got.
