morons
replayability comes from the game being good, not from superficial differences between playthroughs. Different "builds" are nothing more than a convoluted difficulty slider, the game isn't actually different.
Replayability is mainly defined by games that reward skills and mastery of the mechanics with flashy animations or hidden ways to maneuver or overcome challenges that aren’t linearly defined by one answer (like all of fricking Dark souls and some of ER) Sekiro has numerous ways to approach the enemies movesets besides “le L1 to deflect”
You’re moronic and shit at the game have a nice day LOL

nah it's fromsoft they'll make sequels until you're absolutely fricking sick of it. their secret to keeping people interested is making different games on a rotation.
The combat and boss fights are so good because it has no build variety, prosthetics were a nice way of spicing variety up a bit but it all works because the lack of the lack of build variety.
Generally the less build variety the better the balance and all, it's why nearly everything is glasscannon in Elden Ring and two shots you but in return so can you half the time.
Exactly. They made a core gameplay based around two buttons and explored that concept fully. Prosthetics add some spice, but are not integral to the experience. I wish more AAA games went this route, but I guess most big studios are afraid of intentionally limiting their design like this.
>AAA games went this route
It's to pure for big big studios to design games this way, you can't push DLC and microtransactions in a tightly designed game. Thats why every big game nowadays is open world with a mess of concepts and systems. It's easy to add shit to something that's inherently messy.
Elden Ring 2 should shamelessly copypaste Sekiro's mechanics.
If you two-hand a sword and block at the right time then you get 100% damage negation and the enemy takes a small amount of posture damage.
The attack moveset is better in ninja gaiden 3, but the enemies and bosses are fricking aids

So? Blocking is still a thing in ng on to of dodge while sekiro pigeonholes you into l1 being your primary defense tool.
If you don't back off you don't have the distance to observe and react to the next attack.
I have tried to use the spear as a crowd control, but it takes too long to activate it within such a limited time. Raven could also work but it is too expensive and activates only when you are about to be attacked. You can poison me to activate it at any time but the status effect doesn't last long.
Oh you know, you can use invisible candy and kill a non boss version of the enemy instead of that embarrassment you posted.

Many 3D action games do anon... Fromsoft can't design a good combat for shit. All their combat is designed around millenial game dev mindset. Instead of carefully crafting attack reach, hitstuns, i-frames, cancels etc. they just want you counter X with Y. It's far more appearent in Sekiro than any of their other games. The fact that many devs copy their combat and fail at making a single good game is more than enough of an indicator why it's not good. Souls games are good despite their combat, not because of it.

I also think this would be cool. Only potential issue is balancing with regards to player weapon range vs enemy range. You'd probably have to rework enemy weapons more than you'd think, if the player outranges half the enemies in the game it'll throw off the sekiro system. Though, you could maybe just replace every swordsman enemy with a spearman or something

I just played through it up until I got bored at fountainhead. Very overrated, still a good game, but it's not From's best. I was expecting a lot more.
Gameplay is very fun and difficult at first, but once I learned how it works it got very boring. Only one weapon and tools/styles don't differentiate combat enough. Combat is mashing R1 until the enemy deflects, deflecting back, and usually just spamming R1 again. This seems to break the AI for most enemies, where they'll get deflected on their counter and block a few hits, then deflect and throw the same counter, then repeat until getting posture broken.
Bosses are just pattern and deflect timing memorization, and without keeping the pressure up they take ages to kill because of how fast posture on bosses drains when they have a lot of HP, and taking down boss HP takes way too long. AKA, just use the R1 spam strat and bulldoze everything.
For honor?
Parrying in For Honor is more forgiving so it has moronic guard breaks. It's main problem though, is the lock on system.
