I remember getting stuck on Part 2 a while ago. At this point after freebies and newer dresses (including event dresses), Part 2 should be doable. And even aside from PvE content having a difficulty ceiling with you being able to auto everything eventually, the story gets to the point where it is like one battle after like 5 cutscenes. JP barely even has battles anymore in the main story.

Technically yes, but I meant in the sense that the event is basically an extended dress story rather than having the girls be transported to an alternate universe. Usually, the two girls for the event get the dresses added to the app due to a nebulous connection to the event.

weird perspective in this scene, Seira looks way bigger than Dia
Her and Hanabi constantly have the ballooned up bust size issue. Even when the scene doesn't seem to be reusing an earlier model rig like this one does (I think this reuses Xeno Mari's scene). Then again, Aced is on the receiving end like Mari was and she has a smaller bust compared to Mari's model in the scene.
This is a currently scrapped scene. The outfit is available in the shop, so the assumption goes that it was originally a Mari dress that got dropped for whatever reason.
Vampire Cocoa I believe was in limbo until they released her, but the situation isn't quite the same since they didn't really retool those assets.
I mentioned reused rigs, and this scene here looks similar to New Year Cocoa's scene. Don't know which would've been first production wise though. Either way, they may release it as part of the DX club. Would make sense to me anyway.

Next event looks to be race queen themed and features Mari and Seira. Thought it was sports festival themed, but they have already done that and with Seira too.
Here is a preview of Seira's scene with Aced. Aside from Mei and Iko, this is the first time one of the demon girls had a scene with the magical girl they are supposed to be close with.
Also, I'm not keeping count, but Seira has a surprising amount of yuri scenes.

I'm finally catching up on some of the dress stories, and I sort of wonder about Xeno Ao. Even if the Takeraho girls got it relatively easier, I'm confused as to how Ao fits the theme.

Akisa turned out to be twisted in Xeno Ao's story, so maybe it was about misplaced trust or something?

Events are meant to be nebulous as to when they happen, or even if they are in the main continuity (Hakuri and Kokuri's whole deal seem to confirm they are in alternate timelines.) Also, given a newbie will probably go to events, it makes sense to have default stuff to not "spoil".

Yeah, they've been asking in most surveys recently. Ira is next for the premiere dreeses. Looks avian ans surprisingly more covered up than the others. There is a lot of variation in what animals are associated with whatever deadly sin in actual theology along with the princes of hell being something a dude came up with, but I still do wonder what the logic behind this choice is.
Invi and Gula are the most obvious. Gula is associated with both pigs and flies with flies being the symbol of Beelzebub who is the demon of gluttony. Invi, Leviathan is the demon associated with envy, and I think I'd say that connection to Invi has been the most obvious and prominent so far.
Also, there are a bunch of upcoming fire units over at JP. Quite a few recent ones too.

tl;dr: You'll enjoy this game's h-scenes more if you approach it as wanting more scenes of your favorites over requiring certain scenarios to happen.
On the other hand, you'd probably like Tenkei Paradox better. Two animated scenes at the highest rarity, they kinda copied the high shadow contrast look for them too, and all with the MC.

Someone brought it up in the Discord, but it is really wild how so many of the Demon Kings are pretty short. Even more so how Invi and Aced seemed to be bigger sized but they are both shorter than Lux (which actually does look immediately petite).
Weirder how Ava is technically one of the taller ones due to everyone else barring Gula, Superbia, and maybe Ira being pretty short. Really stands out with the varied body types and heights of the magical girls.

Her attitude and personality. She always ends her sentences with 'tbh ka' and seems like a good girl yet she's a huge pervert and her demon costume is kinda hardcore (like most demon costumes I guess). I wish I had access to her character profile image.
Her default outfit is by far the most punk. I think Lux amd maybe Invi have looks like what you'd expect from a demon. Aced (who I'm looking forwward to since she seems chill) and Ava have more modern outfits and Superbia looks like a knight.
And yeah, I do appreciate the layers of Ira since she can come off as a diva, but it is also obvious that she isn't totally terrible. She is very much like Iko in that regard.
Now that I think about it, Ira does seem to be the most obviously perverted demon. Lust does not always mean sexual attraction since it can be more about obsession in general so I don't hold that against Lux, but the others are about the same as most of the magical girls. That entails getting lucky enough to get one, and this year I've barely been able to get much more than a "may as well" 10-roll in.
As an aside, managed to get lucky rolling Burlesque Aka. Really liked the event story and her dress story. Haven't got around to Ao's dress story yet, but it should be similar considering where the event scene ended up.

I would not be surprised if they do stick with the demons since it makes thematic sense and it is a way to let them to make the balance of content slightly more even (the magical girls will probably always be the main focus given other things like not being able to put the demons on the home screen), but I want to see Seira get an outfit.

Honestly me too. It seems super dead. I mostly just play for the new story chapters since I find the writing fairly engaging.
If I had to guess, even if it is said jokingly, I would not be surprised if costs are cut down by have a very small team of localizers that handle multiple projects. It would certainly explain some of the typos.
I don't have access to the internal numbers, but even with this being a high production game that is significantly more high effort in terms of actual game and story, the cost of keeping the thing running may not be that high considering global is an offshoot of JP.
And with Nutaku at least, I think the game is one of the highest rated ones. I sometimes wonder how much bigger the game would be globally if global also had the SFW version. Or maybe even being on other platforms since even Steam is allowing eroge and sometimes nukige now.
Man, I'm still holding out hope for this to spin off into other media.

This game has always occupied a strange space since the NSFW elements are not executed incompetently like for the original Fate/stay night (can't compare it to other eroge since I don't really play them), but as I have said before, it also feels like some on the dev team do not care that much.
Like, sure. I can imagine that there was also a financial aspect when part 2 of the main story did not have h scenes, but even within part 1, it feels like they tried aping edgy magical girl things like Puella but then got bored midway through. Which I am actually grateful for since the game has its own identity.
There were myriad problems with part two such as the pacing and how the mini-character arcs became incredibly repetitive. However, they used a decent chunk of it to break away from the self contained part 1 to set up the world moving forward so I can forgive some of the issues. I thoroughly enjoyed part 3 though in spite of Envy's redemption being completely unearned.
Yeah, I still like part 2, but it is jumbled. They really needed that half a year break to get things sorted out.

Depends on what you consider to be "a few girls". Instead of introducing new playable characters all the time, the game essentially releases variants. They are skins as well, but those dresses have their own stories and skills.
And no, each girl does not only get one or two scenes. You may be thinking strictly about the scenes from the bond stories since those do have two scenes spread across the entire bond story.

Ira really does have a nice figure. Her body type isn't dissimilar to Seira and Iroha(though looking at Iroha's measurements, she is very close to Ao aside from height). I already like what I've seen from her in the story, so I think she'll be one of my favorites. I do wonder why they felt the need to give her sort of random red highlights.

There are also the two light novels that were written, but I got those already digitally. I didn't poke around too much more than that since I don't have space for certain kinds of merchandise, and things like body pillows were never my thing even aside from me not wanting that out in the open.
The first art book looks to be out of print/stock from Kadokawa themselves, but there were plenty of other sellers on both Amazon and eBay. I still haven't seen the full contents, but I didn't feel like spending around the same if not more for a product that has been used compared to the newer book.

Also the underlying structure and navigation around these sorts of games are all the same, so language shouldn't be an issue outside of story interest if you've played one before.

I haven't played TenkafuMA, but from what I have seen, the similarities would be above average production values (as in the graphics and characters have effort put into them along with the h scenes being animated somewhat), but aside from that and both being turn based, I would not say that there are too many similarities since it is a very different tone.
For starters, the MC in TenkafuMA has the express purpose of boning and is an uber powerful demon lord dude guy.
Art book came real early. It is a lot bigger than I thought, both physically and with how much is in it. The first few pages seem to be a recap of the story (I'm using my phone's live translate).
Lots of comments for the characters and specific dresses too. A random one would be that Lux's weapon is made from blood along with her being able to change the size and presumably shape.
Invi and Ira have a lot more face portraits compared to the other demon kings, and I'm not entirely sure we have seen some of those portraits.
Also, this book opens from the right and seems to be read left to right. Is it only some books that are right to left in Japan? Or are specific books done in this way?

Interesting comments on the Magica Evo series and design philosophies the creative team had and, wait. They only did them for the Arihane girls and Eliza for some random reason? Well, that's disappointing. Still, some interesting facts would be that Seira's R2 Evo dress was influenced by Odile from Swan Lake. Eliza's is meant to invoke a wizard more than a magical girl as well as there being strong European influences. Iroha's was the only new design, and I never noticed that her in game outfit is different than the one we see in the original opening and the key visual until I paid more attention to both.

I am like 83% sure that Seira does do that in the story.
Being able to see these dresses side by side and the more in-depth breakdown of the design makes some things a lot more obvious, like how all the Arihane girls have that sailor fuku back flap on their Xeno dresses. The St. Charles girls all have ties.
As for the commentary for the Xeno series, there are two translations that are slightly different, but what I can glean would be that the initial concept was that of "magical girls coming from a place other than here/other than the second world line". I am assuming that it is related to how many of the scenarios were either literal nightmares or from alternative universes that are inherently corrupted and removed from the more familiar alt universes. Part of me also wonders if there was another theme of mixing demon powers with their regular powers given the aforementioned corruption and how that relates to mind-breaking and demons, but that is mostly just speculation.
Another thing mentioned would be that the creators wanted to "not destroy the basic image of a magical girl" while wanting to "emphasize the goodness of each girl". Honestly not sure if that is just a complete mistranslation since, y'know, the Xeno series are among the darker dress stories. I say that, but to be fair, their positive attributes can be indirectly shown through the torment. Still is a bit weird.

That's the bug. If your orb storage is full at 500, it'll crash because it's trying to dump orb rewards directly in there instead of sending excess to your present box. Haven't checked if they fixed it yet.

I think it is easy for her to come off as dumb given how she speaks and her single minded focus on food, but when looking at some of her choice of words and other things, I get the impression that she isn't exactly oblivious.

Don't have the art book with me at the moment, but there was a comment about the Fallen dress series being about each girl's darkness along with a thirst for power.
That last one is hinted at when viewing Iroha's dress, but it is that first part that we actually see in the stories. I snarked about the Xeno series, but they were more about their fears and how their positive or at least ambivalent traits can get then screwed over if transplanted into an entirely different context.
In Fallen Iroha's story, you see her get jealous. I honestly can't say what how it directly relates to her, but from what I understand from Fallen Iko's story, her deal may be issues with attachment and abandonment. Somewhat similar case with Seira, though her deal is more related to a loved one dying versus someone losing interest in you.

Like Acedia, Ava's profile does not have any surprising info since you get the overall feel of Ava pretty easily. She is pretty much the demon version of Eliza which is why they end up getting along. There is mention of her liking "Omnis research, but I am not sure if it is referring to the Omnis avatar or something else.
Looking closer at the outfit along with the commentary pointing out the giant capsules do I recognize that she is wearing a lab coat. I still say that she and Dia have a lot more modern designs when looking at Lux (whose motif is a vampire), Invi (who is wearing a military outfit), and Superbia.
I will say that with the exception of Gula and Aced, the writing does a good job of not defaulting to the stereotypical depictions of the 7 deadly sins.

I always like to remind people that she was a literal no name and no face bit character from Iko's bond story who then got an actual portrait later on in R2/Magica 2020 Iko, and then appeared randomly in those 1.5 anniversary special episodes, and then got a tower scene. All before getting a name. Clearly, someone on the dev team really liked her.
I really like her myself and already watched the first half of her dress story. The range of her voice actress reminds me of Tobio, and I can envision her being the de facto main girl of this were a different story. Can't wait to see her bounce off the others more.

Closest thing i know of in the porn gacha genre is Beat Wars Escalation Heroines (the alicesoft gacha). The global version died so it's only playable on Fanza.
It doesnt have a small fixed cast like mgcm (none do except the grisaia gacha and it died). But it does have magical high-school girls and a LOT of non-vanilla scenes.

Since her new dress was just released, here is Superbia's entry in the art book. She is loyal to Beatrice and seems to be the leader of a group of knights. Straightforward overall and dislikes dishonesty. So, she is basically demon Ao. And unlike Invi being only sort of like Akisa & Hanabi and Ava being in the same vein as Eliza, Superbia looks like a blonde Ao and even has a very similar body type. And y'know, knight theme.
I'm thinking back to how only the Arihane girls and Eliza had entries and commentary for their Magica 2020 series, and a stray thought is if most of the other designs were done hastily and thus there isn't that much talk about.
Not really based on fact, but it is also worth noting the very early concepts of the game where it was five girls instead of twelve. Maybe Superbia was based on an earlier version of Ao. Who knows.
After Beatrice is made playable the witches will probably come next.

We tried but we didn't have enough autism to see it through. The way the game handles its 3D models isn't conventional and to have an accurate rip of the character you'd need to extract it from the memory with something like ninjaripper. There are official VRChat models linked in the thread but all they're paid (except for Kamisaman) and there's only one for each girl, the demons don't have any.

Finally got a dedicated graphics card for my relatively new PC. I can now start playing on JP again after mobile devices stopped working for me.

Word of wisdom to newcomers is that it can be easy to think you have to chase after the meta to make any sort of headway. Doing well in the PVP modes does result in more rewards, but PVE can still be cleared with even early dreeses.
And the story as it is now has very sparse battles compared to how it was in the beginning, so being gated isn't likely past a certain point. Of course there is an incentive to collect as many dresses as possible for both the story and to play dress up, but since the game revolves around a smaller amount of playable characters compared to other gachas, it isn't like you'll be missing characterization completely.
I'd love to see how much money Magicami is making
I have to go back and pay closer attention to the event story, but it looks like the gist of it is that the Isana looking girl (whose name seems to be Tobisaka or something along those lines) is a transfer student who befriends Akisa. Her and Akisa also get an h scene together.
The game places first on DMM from time to time and global is still alive after a few years and also sometimes is one of the higher rated games on Nutaku. I imagine that while the game doesn't make big bucks like FGO, GBF, or Genshin, it is at least moderately successful.
May have been even more successful if they were allowed to show that promo alongside Demon Slayer as originally planned, but oh well.

Quick correction to an error I made. It may have been the choice of the dev team rather than them being forced to cancel the commercial. Also, the commercial would have been for the Demon Slayer theatrical run.
This video goes into more detail, but the overall point remains that being shown along with Demon Slayer and also being in the broad "demon killing" could have helped.
Either way, it looks like the game will get an actual ending that is not rushed. Over four years is nothing to laugh at, and they can always try their hands at other mediums given the Fate franchise started out as technically being h games. That, and a bunch of other visual novels released on platforms like Steam have NSFW versions.

I literally just finished the tutorial having downloaded the game today. I was looking at the characters and I saw Lilly. I'm a huge sucker for gyaru. I just started. What should I roll for if I care about Lilly? I've never played this game and there is like twenty different banners and I have no idea how any of this stuff works.

To piggy back off of other anon's point, Lilly doesn't have that many meta dreeses anyway even before the advent of how modern dreeses are designed. Not that you can't do well in PVE, but the point is that if you mostly care about her as a character, the meta isn't going to be that important anyway. You'll still get the dress story and the dress itself for aesthetics (though you can play dress up with any outfit you have anyway).
Anyway, here is another page from the art book. It is obvious in hindsight, but the 1995 series goes for the "magical girl warrior" kind of look on top of being based on magical girls from the 90s. Also, I really like the different capes they get.
Follow up question: which of the four demon kings revealed on global does everyone like? Lux is probably my favorite for the development she gets with Ira being a close second (and a lot of people have her as their favorite).
Luxuria. They knew what they were doing when adding new characters was approved. She is legitimately designed to rock you and even make non petite likers question their taste.

What isn't nice is that since Akisa (hers looks cool too with fur accents like Lilly has) looks to be the free unit, Seira is now the only purple haired girl that hasn't been involved with these recurring Taimanin events. SO THATS FUN.
Hopefully someone will get high res versions of what was shown on stream, but in the meantime, the devs look to be doing a fee things with Cocoa's mom. I think they may have used Aka's model as a base. I guess it makes sense since Cocoa herself would have a similar shape to Aka if she were taller (they focus on their breasts mostly, but nothing about them is exactly slim), but it feels weird either way to see a model of any kind for the family members.

Maybe they elaborated on the stream itself, but I didn't watch it. I'm assuming they wanted to do something different since they have been using more poses lately and they probably thought it fit with Taimanin. Which I guess it does, but still looks weird.
You can unlock past events by using episode keys, but maybe you mean that you can't completely limit break them. Still wouldn't worry much about it outside of a handful of event dreeses they do not improve thaf much. You still get the scene and the dress itself.

Not the Taimanin events as far as I'm aware, since I tried it before. But maybe they'll unlock when Taimanin 3 is available.

This series did come out pretty quickly, all things considered. Same deal with the Diabolique Premiere series, too. I'd hope they wouldn't just stop when they have Cocoa and Mari left, and at least their Paradox dresses were the later ones so their 1995 dresses being the last ones wouldn't be too odd.
Still am bitter that they stopped the Magica Fallen series. Didn't mind them dropping the Rebirth series though since those were a bit over designed, and they were pretty much the equivalent to the Ultima Magica series.
Also, someone on the team must really love Iko. I tended to rationalize the St. Charles girls their getting their dreeses first as the team making up for lost time (aside from Lilly, they were the last of the original 12 to join), but even after they started randomizing the order of release is Iko still one of the first. Akisa makes sense since she is one of the most popular girls, but there is also Eliza who gets hers early too.

We do sometimes get QOL updates early, if that's any sort of consolation.
Also, thinking about making a new thread even the next major update for global comes. It is a bit unfortunate that we don't get story updates every month like we did for part 2, but at least the story segments are a lot longer and better to compensate.
Also, are they just going to skip summer events entirely for JP? I don't mind that much and we did get that Aced dress and an upcoming Gula dress, but summers always seem to be big money makers for gachas. FGO and Granblue Fantasy are also coincidentally doing some non standard things for summer too.

There's plenty, but they're almost all in Japanese. The ones that get an english release usually end up censoring things pretty hard for the first few months and experience a slow death.
That JP platform also recently decided to implement harsher gaijin blocks and the affected anons have to use a vpn to get around the login checks.
Also the gameplay in a lot of these is going to be ass, usually centered around team building stat sticks of the latest in power creep, Magicami included. Otherwise there's a few tower defense or map/strategy games.

Lux also got the most development so far in Global. Her design is nice all around, and I love how she is petite rather than something else. Still, it is kind of funny how she is taller than a few of the other demon kings. Even moreso since she looks more obviously short that Invi or Acedia.
Ava at least feels appropriate even if certain outfits like her Taimanin one gives the illusion of her being not that short since they emphasize her legs.

I could believe that the game will be wrapping up soon given the current story and a few oddities, but considering that the date given was apparently the 23rd of this month, I highly doubt it.

Future plans and content existing doesn't disprove a premature termination of services, but this supposed leak still feels off.
Also, not sure how often a livestream is used to announce end of services. If a livestream does happen (don't they usually announce them like a week or more in advance) and is related to EOS, maybe there will be more left of the series.

Don't know where from exactly. Some people are claiming that they saw some assets from datamining that explicit states both the broadcast and something alluding to a farewell of sorts.
The group of people who I know also datamine and also leak things like banners and other assets early have not said anything as far as I can tell, so this is all up in the air.
I will say that the last producer letter did not hint to this whatsoever (as in the letter was talking about future implementation), so if it is true, it is probably a shock to the team as well.
This all just feels weird since I could have sworn the game got an award for browser games of something like that. And it seems like a waste to let the team whose game you are giving the axe a livestream that was not too long ago.

Same here. The only reason I even started humoring the rumor was because the background used for the two leaks in question are ostensibly in the data, but they both looked sort of generic and oddly low-resolution.
And I still have not seen too many others comment on the veracity of the claims. I do have faith that the series won't die anyway and branch out into different things.

trying to make loras for the mgcm girls. I've been having a hard time finding decent images. Any additional resources? One guy got a Siera one down pretty well. I could do a lot better if i had like 10-20 more images, but the results are already decent.

Yea, tried that with another game/character and that was absolutely a no go. Scrapping through pixev is a nightmare with the conflicting styles and fricked anatomy too.

These are the requirements for training. I think you can see how this might turn out to be an issue for the girls as the content of art simply doesn't match these specs. At least the stuff that I have seen. Seira was the exception due to her rather simpler design.
Scanning and uploading the art to the mega would be cool as I have yet to find an easily accessible art database for them. Im going to be ordering the art books just for the collection so if you don't have time, ill get around to it eventually. Not gonna lie, the news really put a damper on the mood.

The EOS rumor is finally circulating in the official Discord. The supposed broadcast should be happening in a few hours from the time of this comment, and it is looking more and more like this was a false rumor.
I may end up being wrong, but the chance of them doing a live broadcast out of the blue seems unlikely at this point since this sort of thing is usually announced. Someone did think that it may have been the SFW version that is getting terminated, and that would make sense.
But right now, there is not much to show the rumors to be true since there is no kind of official acknowledgment whatsoever. Does not help that some of the people who believe the rumors do not seem to understand how development works or at least are making assumptions that don't seem wild on the surface but still shows a lack of knowledge.

Ok this is my copium: Studio MGCM acquired the IP from DMM/Fanza and one of the requirements is for the current product to cease production, which means we'll get something in the future entirely by them. Please, I can't exist in a world without Iroha and the girls

That's correct. The 2chan thread (http://img.2chan.net/b/res/1093676687.htm) mentioned that CyberAgent is in financial trouble and is the most likely cause of the shutdown, but we won't know for another couple of hours.
This is pretty rough. I've been playing the game since it launched in Japan and I'm really hoping the franchise will have some sort of life beyond its current form. The art and characters are too good to just let them disappear.

I've been reading the thread, I said mumbling because someone hadn't posted anything that seemed like direct evidence.
They were trying to get more content made for outside of the game. It's something a lot of games do but I guess MC Universe didn't go as far as they had hoped.
But unlike most games that end within the month of announcing, they're going all the way to the end of October, and I keep forgetting it's still August. They also had tentative collab plans made for November and December, but nothing can be done about a lull in popularity when the parent company needs to trim.

That's not really an indication of anything, they're all using aliases and quite a few of them are fairly popular. Such as Akisa's VA. I can recognize most of them when I hear them in another game. Though I haven't been able to identify the VAs for Luxuria and Kokoa randomly by ear, or find Riri's old VA in anything.
External content like that does not help a floundering game. Things like Horse Pussy built up their external content long before being able to release a game to a crowd that already loves gambling.

I forgot where it was where people were talking about it, but partly related to this would be that a lot of things that blew up during the pandemic are not bringing in the same numbers due to less free time and saturation of the market.
There are major exceptions and this does not have hard proof as far as I know, but it would make sense that people will eventually focus on a smaller number of games like Genshin and FGO. And even with FGO are there significant lulls until they release new Servants.

A few others were talking about that, too. I am not really well versed in h games, but I wonder if beyond the inherent baggage is that a lot of h games are very shallow if you removed the h content. That, and some h games are not exactly known for their stories and characterization.

That's another thing. The region lock stuff wasn't very smart of them but then again it seems it only affected certain countries since I could still access the game with no issues.
I wonder what their reasoning behind it is. I'm sure there are a few reasonable explanations, but it also feels shortsighted and stubborn when they don't seem to like the idea of a market outside of Japan. Interconnected markets are going to become more of a thing and not less.

The game is apparently still big on Johren, so maybe they will expedite future content to try to drive more purchases and to proactively jump ship.

Because eroge and VN companies are in a stagnant state at best and declining as usual. CN outmarkets them and KR is eating up the hardcore fanbase at whatever opportunity while the SEA is pirating their stuff.

Probably. It is mostly from a legal standpoint given the agencies and presumed contracts involved. Most of the voice actors are ones I have never heard of so I assume they have a bit more attachment and wouldn't mind reprising their roles, but it may not be up to them anyway.
Maybe it's about reusing what they have already recorded, plus the change of VA could also play a part on that. They probably would have to re-record everything.

Even if we don't get that offline mode, it is still reassuring that they still seem happy to work on the game. Looks like this was a matter of them getting the axe and maybe something about their parent company merging or whatever.
I still want to know if they could hypothetically continue in another form, even if it is just the characters and story. Imagine them doing a Persona esque game. It already has some elements of that.

Mostly right. The team was alerted two months earlier that the game could be cancelled, but they didn't get final confirmation until two weeks ago.
If they do a crowfunding hopefully they add voices as a stretchgoal. It sucks that the game got scrapped because it wasn't profitable enough according to the suits, I wish Studio MGCM could break away free and keep the game.

We got Ao lora up and working. I don't know what other artwork the maker is contributing to train, but it's a little more over cooked than Seira one. I couldn't help out much more than I did.

Ok so the publisher cut the funding but Studio MGCM is still allowed to work on the IP with their own money. What I don't understand is if the Studio is a separate entity or they just got freedom.
Studio probably belongs to the publisher and has to pay them "protection money" or whatever corporate royalties or somesuch from their revenue. It'd be cool if they got to keep working on the game forever but we'll have to see how it pans out
I was wondering about them even talking about crowdfunding and I assumed it was a mistranslation, but if only the funding being cut is true, then that is something I have never heard about in this manner. Then again, the game has always been weird when you think about the production values and how the h content is integrated andother things. Maybe the initial investments have something to do with it.

Also, there does seem to be a few on the JP side that are making plans for archival. It may be unnecessary if the offline version comes, but it is still nice either way, especially since it seems like some of them are trying to see how to save the voices as well.

Basically, it is a combination of complicated contracts and resources. Even though sales have gone down, they were still making plans going forward.

Going back to the complications, the team was also talking with various other affiliates since they rely on more than the parent company and DMM. We probably won't ever know all the details of these contracts, but maybe that complication is the reason why there is even a small glimmer. Also, I say they got the axe, buy the team is asking that it was their own decision to end things given the circumstances. So maybe it really was a case of funding getting cut rather than an official end.
No news on global. The admin from the official Discord has said that there are no plans for cancelation right now. It may or may not end early still, but I honestly wonder how much overhead they worry about.
