Explain how a stealth game like Thief can be put under the same umbrella category as an RPG game like Deus Ex? this term is nonsensical bullshit and it always has been. None of you will ever explain something like that with a reasonable answer. Guess what? he was right
It does not exist.
Deus Ex is a stealth game. It has tons of options and RPG progression and stealth is not one of the options, it's integral to every single level and punished wildly with horrible gunplay when failed at.
>Deus Ex is a stealth game
It's not stealth focused primarily, no. It's as much as a stealth game as any game that allows for stealth approach. Do you call Far Cry 3,4, 5 or 6 stealth?
No? the enemies know where you are in those games. Proving you haven't played them.

Stealth is completely broken and the AI have pretty much superhuman abilities to detect you, only certain types of vegetation will conceal you like bushes or leaves. For some reason grass doesn't work, It was a major design oversight. It's not much different in 2 of where they can always find you wherever you are. To even suggest any of them have a viable approach to stealth is not true. You may as well just play the first two games as shooters.
A game with hyper detailed maps where the gameplay is primarily defined by the player's interaction with the map and the gameplay mechanics designed to simulate real life systems. Multiple ways to solve problems through real-life adjacent problem solving is encouraged through the game design. This style of game can be used to serve multiple purposes, whether it's roleplaying, action-adventure, stealth, or puzzle.
Meme category that doesn't exist.
FPS RPG is the term you are looking for
This, incredibly forced term
>Fallout 3 is an immersive sim
LOLOLOLOLOLOLOLOL
No, but all """immersive sims""" are FPSRPGs
MGS3 and Psy-Ops are 3rd person Immsims. It's a design philosophy with meaning behind it.
>MGS
>immersive sim
Horrible bait.
Lol, by this logic any rpg with stats is an "immersive sim".
Prey and Thief aren't RPGs.
Also, Halo and Half-Life are immersive sims. No I will not elaborate.
Prey isn't an RPG? What the frick are you on about?
Prey is a first-person shooter with role-playing game elements
Just because you can "level up" doesn't mean it's an RPG. Is Dead Space an RPG? lol
Yeah, upgrading weapons is the same as a character build tree with new perks and abilities.

Why would you exclude Far Cry 1 and 2 from your list when, in relation to the current topic, they are exactly like the Ubishit ones?
No? the enemies know where you are in those games. Proving you haven't played them.

they've been shit for about a decade now
maybe Shadows of Doubt won't suck. I'm not buying it in EA though.
Marketing buzzword. Not a real genre.
>thief
>immersive sim
kys
I miss that Arx Fatalis feeling.
Third person RPGs are better cause you can see your character
>Immersive Sim
define this, what does it mean?

bioshock and dishonored is total dogshit.
>RPGs are now Immersive Sims
what went wrong?
>immersive sim
>doesnt simulate anything that can be done in real life
explain yourself, troony
>dishonored
>bioshock

I guess any stealth/FPS fits the bill nowadays, might as well include MGS and Hitman while you're at it
