Not in all, or at least not as close friends as they are in T or 30. The Boomer trio is relatively recent thing.
Although they usually are aware of the existence of the others but they just know of "the mazinger/getter/gundam pilot".
Hopefully never.
What's this?
A shitty getter manga
in which getter does ryo start looking cool?
In anime, Armaggedon. In manga, getter gets good in Go. Once Ishikawa starts drawing in a more style of his own (instead of being a Faux Nagai) the saga gets so much better.
>style of his own (instead of being a Faux Nagai)
is whatever happened in volume 2 that or that's just tailoring it to the anime I liked his nagai more than real nagai
>is whatever happened in volume 2 that or that's just tailoring it to the anime
The version we got translated is from a re-edition where he added extra chapters and redrew many pages.
Also Getter Robo G was originally part of the original Getter manga instead of its own series and was separated years later.
>is this a just watch the anime kind of series?
The anime is completely different and is more like your typical monster of the week mecha anime. I'd recommend reading the manga regardless of those changes. You can get the raw version and compare them if you want the most purist experience.

And here is a link for the raw original series by the way:

thanks
I though it would turn into an anime commercial like mazinger when I saw the anime style chapter, I'll continue both then
I kinda suck on SWR lore but some games are a sequel to other previous SWR games so some characters might have met up previously. They kind of have their own extended universe or something like that.
>Hey it's you >Yeah it's me. >How do you guys know each other? >We've teamed up on someones else's main story because the writer shoehorned us into this game
Ah now I remember.
It's just a nod to the original SRW being purely Gundam/Mazinger/Getter, don't think they ever made a game properly fleshing out that kind of backstory
>games start getting translated >games start getting pc releases >games start getting worldwide releases >series goes to gacha hell
So this is the power of despair...
sad that they implied this great war at the beginning of 30, involving SGR-Armaggeddon, The end of Toeizinger and Great Mazinger, Chars counterattack and Gaogaigar FINAL. all happening around the same time, but we didnt got to see it. and anyone who saw at least SGR and GGGF, knows how fricked shit got out there.
>All that shit happened in a ten year time frame >Somehow the characters think the universe IBO comes from is worse
30's lore is nuts and I'd pay to have a manga or LN that would go more into it.
SRW D universe is pretty fricked >The Invaders >Getter Ray Armageddon >Then the Various Zeon Conflicts >Plus Dr. Hell's Bullshit >Char was about to WIN but he got chucked by the OG Villains who sealed the Earth
>all the human factions ally themselves with the protagonists >except Zanscare because they are just that much of a bunch of buttholes
You can recruit Chronicle and Katejina during their final battle but I never did because they deserved their fate.
SRW D also has the Gundam ZZ cast, with the exception of Judeau and Roux, being nom-nom'd by the Invaders from Getter Robo Armageddon
Char also won the war from CCA, and it has the hijinks of The Big O (although it is missing elements from the second season), God Mars and Macross 7.
Doesn't matter, 30 has an unusual (for this series) structure that lets you do nearly every stage anyways. Keep in mind for your opinions on the series that 30 was kind of a big departure from the norm.
I kind of get the jist that this series has been going since the snes era, so I'm perfectly fine with whatever jank the series might have, I'm just a tourist when it comes to giant robot stuff. The only other SRW's I played was the one on the GBA, Endless Frontier, and one on the PSP. But I figured now that the series has an english game I'd try it again.
Staring on Earth gets you Super Robots faster while space gets you Real Robots faster but you'll be doing most missions the game offers you so there's little you'll miss.
>What's the difference between the robots?
Super = high hp, high armor, lower mobility, lower movement, lower accuracy, attack have more base power but also higher energy costs or lower ammo reserves
Reals = high mobility, high accuracy, higher movement, attacks don't have as high base power but lower energy costs or more ammo reserves.
This is a generalization mind you. Units tend to blur the lines, main series units are usually good in every area regardless, and after you start upgrading your mechs it's even more meaningless. SRW is a fanservice game first and foremost so you should always pick whatever is your favorite.

>Still no announcement for the next game
I hope this means they're taking their time to make sure it's good now that they can capitalize on releasing it globally instead of using the SEA loophole
When?

that's an even bigger mess than I thought

I don't entirely disagree, but I'd still say the original Getter Robo is worth reading if only for the last chatper.
Frick you, Dino Getter in SRW when?
Obviously not the ones where one or more of them aren't present.
I kinda suck on SWR lore but some games are a sequel to other previous SWR games so some characters might have met up previously. They kind of have their own extended universe or something like that.
They usually do a "they served together off screen"
>Hey it's you
>Yeah it's me.
>How do you guys know each other?
>We've teamed up on someones else's main story because the writer shoehorned us into this game
Ah now I remember.
Don't they all usually hangout on whatever battleship the gundam series is using?
It's just a nod to the original SRW being purely Gundam/Mazinger/Getter, don't think they ever made a game properly fleshing out that kind of backstory
I don't think they knew each other in V.
Have they starter officially translating this game series yet?
Which ones let you self insert as MC and preferably with most routes?
Have you been living under a rock? They have been translating them since T
that's quite recent
>since T
More like since Moon Dwellers
Ahahaha!
Post the picture! It's fricking golden!
Such words...even I could...!
>einst
>zwei
>dry
>games start getting translated
>games start getting pc releases

So this is the power of despair...
Breed
>impregnanting a natural to avoid having infertile offsprings
So it was all part of her plan?
Indeed.

Honestly frick Victory and everyone related to it
SRW D also has the Gundam ZZ cast, with the exception of Judeau and Roux, being nom-nom'd by the Invaders from Getter Robo Armageddon

in which getter does ryo start looking cool?
Z2 translation WHEN?
>wanting a Z series translation... when the alpha series only has Gaiden.
we dont even have Alpha 1, for christ sake!
Give me K or Z1.
God, I would kill for a Z1 translation. For my money that's still the overall best SRW game.
Never. But I want it so bad.
>we got shitty VTX30 games in English instead
it's not fair
>Getter Rays are alive and is using life in the universe to wage war with itself
FACE IT! GETTER RAYS ARE EVIL!
The only thing I know about Go Nagai is those absurd sideburns, and I love them
Where to start with his works?

>Getter thread on Ganker earlier this morning
>Now Ganker
Just a reminder that Musashi died for our sins
I just picked up SRW30 and know nothing about the series, should I start on earth or in space?
Doesn't matter, 30 has an unusual (for this series) structure that lets you do nearly every stage anyways. Keep in mind for your opinions on the series that 30 was kind of a big departure from the norm.

What's the difference between the robots?
supers are big tanky punchy types while reals are fast fragile shooty types.

Space shits you full of victory gundam units you won't ever use, so I prefer earth route
Reminder that Getter Rays are your friends and you shouldn't believe the creepy bug aliens
this line gets me every fricking time I rewatch Armageddon
Which SRW game has those particular turbo bawd pilots?
X-Omega
Hey, Excellen isn't a Turbo bawd!
>Still no announcement for the next game
I hope this means they're taking their time to make sure it's good now that they can capitalize on releasing it globally instead of using the SEA loophole
Hopefully it means they're hard at work getting the license to use Pacific Rim for the next one.
Rim's died in 1, let it rest.
No. It's really just a thing they've been throwing in since SRWV since they never want to do any of those series plots anymore.
I just wish we got the manga Getter crew for once instead of Armageddon.
Manga Shin Getter could have some fricking sick attacks.
No. Armageddon is eternal.
Trust the plan anon, the Getter Arc anime was just SRW fodder for the next decade.
