I'm just here to say people who say "you can't make use of or experiment with prosthetics because of Spirit Emblems" are out of their mind. I've been actively using them in combat scenarios from the start and still have 60 in storage.

I never got close to running out. Every time I sat at an idol I bought as much as I could. By the time they were 30 a pop I was almost maxed out

I haven't bought a single one yet either, though I most likely should to make use of money before losing it.

As someone who basically just uses shuriken for ranged attacks, axe to break shields and the spear to strip the few enemy's armor where it works, I think they should've made spirit emblems something that just recovers automatically when you rest at a buddha statue. I never felt the absolute need to use them, but especially in the beginning I was afraid I'd run out by the time I actually needed them. Then I basically just got used to handling the game and pretty much every boss without having to use them at all, making them practically useless aside from specific encounters. The fact that they made it a resource that doesn't just recover by itself discouraged experimentation.

Then you should have actually paid attention to how many you get, something that is easily tested and clarified, instead of letting your fears run unfounded. The only issue here is that you tricked yourself into not using them.

It's not about running out overall, it's about running out every run. You have to rest at the buddha to refill which just makes you end up not wanting to use them because you might need them for x reason or another. It's like stockpiling potions in an RPG when you shouldn't really be, the game doesn't really encourage you throwing out prosthetic abilities when your upgrades for it are +1 to your max. So you just end up not feeling like it or thinking you shouldn't and by the time you realize you can you probably already just parry every enemy and boss just fine so they feel like they have limited uses anyway even when they don't.

I wouldn't have gotten that many emblems had I not been getting several despite using them. Practically every other enemy drops emblems and refills you constantly, and the only reason you need them for is to use them.

he's right about one thing though.
The fact you have a limited ammount of emblems in your buddha storage does not make sense and really serves no purpose except anti-fun. It should just always go back to full whenever you rest at an emblem.

I have been replaying sekiro with Randomizer or with mods like the Ressurection overhaul, and every time at the beginning of a playthrough, i cheat in 999 emblems in storage to make sure i never have to grind and buy them, far more fun that way

      >60 in storage

Black I have 999 emblems in storage for most of the late game and I am still reluctant to use them unless absolutely necessary. You aren't autistic enough to understand why finite consumables bother people like us. Sorry.

The problem isn't that they run out, the problem is that they are limited for no good reason. There really is no reason for them to be limited at all. If you're doing well you don't worry about them ever running out. If you're not doing well you're gonna run out and either have to face the enemies without prosthetic tools, or farm spirit emblems, which is ridiculous in a ninja action game.
It's just a puzzling design choice.

My ending was odd. Kuro's soul possessed the rice girl and they were going to travel to the West. I'm still waiting for a Sekiro sequel.

In Japanese, he actually basically says, "I'm returning your shadow".
To put it in context, Great Shinobi Owl is named "Kageotoshi Fukuro" in japanese, which means "The Shadowless Owl", basically saying he's such a great shinobi, he doesn't even cast a shadow. Wolf is using his title to say he's bested him.
Additionally, the first two lines were 5 and 7 syllables. Owl compliments him saying it was beautifully done with a 5 syllable word, forming a haiku with wolf in his last moments.
      It's really kino.
