FAAAAAAAKE!
FAAAAAAAAAAAAKE!
so what's the difference between this and procedural generation?
Trendier buzzword
no no no it's AI generated now. that means it's futuristic
There's no human thought behind where things are placed!
you'll need new cpu for this
nothing, since it is just procedural generation
nowhere it states it is an AI project
Procedural generation usually pulls from a premade asset pool, randomized from pre-determined inputs. This seems like it's actually fully randomized, no design involved (except maybe preventing impossible situations), so it's probably far more intensive resource wise and perhaps shittier.
usually procedural is like more random i guess is how you'd put it. the game creates things.
randomly generated you'd often have premade things from which the game chooses randomly.
simple example would be that the game has 10 levels, but it's always same levels but in random order. procedural the game itself would create 10 new levels everytime.
Indians will shill it harder.
procedural is a seed
ai isnt
moronGOD
What, it's a suck?
I've noticed a lot of people hating on procgen recently so if this takes off it'll be doubly funny.
>"In the future, entertainment will be randomly generated."
ENJOY PLAYING THE SAME SHIT NONSTOP FOR ALL ETERNITY FOR THE LOW LOW PRICE OF $49.99 A MONTH
>"AlexAI, create me a game where I can shoot the bad guys on horseback, a western"
>"I'm sorry I can't do that as murder is a crime and a heroes in westerns were typically portrayed as white perpetuating stereotypes of..."
Yep it's gaming time.
You have to say "disengage safety protocols"
Random generated levels existed since 90s
And it's always been shit.
I didn't say otherwise anon
procedurally genned levels has been a thing since Rogue, before you were born
Whats the appeal of this? The thing that made Mario always particularly fun was the clever level design created by the developers where you can see the thought and love for details put into it.
Whats the appeal of running through a randomly generated empty world with no goal or intelligent design?
omg dude but it's randomly generated that means you can play infinite mario it's literally endless entertainment!!! :OOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO
not to defend AI/lazy design but i think that it's just so you can enjoy the movement of the game non-stop
In the year 252525,
The backwards time machine still won't have arrived.
In all the world, there's only one technology,
A rusty sword for practicing proctology!
That's a good one.
I'll watch vinny play it for two hours and forgot it exists
I'll watch Yoel play it for a cumulative total of ten minutes in a three hour stream.
I eagerly await the sm64 roguelike(lite)
NINTENDO
HIRE
Why do people still think roguelike elements are something good?
