In the grand scheme of things, did GF make the right decision when guns were removed from the pokemon universe?

No, but the franchise is intended for toddlers now so who cares
It always was though, ESPECIALLY as it was being made with home market in mind and wasn't meant for exportation.
It was always for children, but now it's for literal babies.
interesting narrative, i'll be stealing this.
Not even babies, it's for mentally deficient morons that were raised on mommy's iPad.
>the games made for gameboys are actually for iPad kids
What a moronic post
>but i saw the author, and she seemed really nice
BASED TAJIRI DABBING ON TRANNIES WITH HIS PRO-TERF VIEWS!
This was before that
But she's an even better person now 🙂
>toddlers now
>now
fricks sake
I wrote a long diatribe but deleted it all
Yeah. Guns just seem off in the setting. A lot of military stuff feels out of place for the Pokemon world
>A lot of military stuff feels out of place for the Pokemon world
Frick you, I want to know all about this "war" Surge and others spoke of.
Obviously World War II.
Gulf war
>universe populated by living weapons of mass destruction
>burgercuck triggered by the removal of his power wands
Shut your fricking mou
Bros... Tajiri's laughing at us....
>when guns were removed from the pokemon universe?
explain this then
That's a fish.
remoraid's design is clearly evocative of a revolver, but subtle in a way that people with no imagination are unable to notice it without it being blatantly in your face obvious
thing is, if you look at its stripes it's obviously a revolver, but the overall design is so fricking boring that most people don't even bother, i used to just quickly scan it's appearance and thought "oh, another fish"
No one ever thought that Remoraid was based on a gun, it was just some fish evolving into a octopus. It was confirmed with the Spaceworld prototype but before then it was mostly a fan theory, they heavily reworked the original design in order to delete all the guns elements on its design, making him just another boring fish that no one wants to train because it has nothing special.
>No one ever thought that Remoraid was based on a gun
Speak for yourself. Most of my friends and I noticed it when we were kids but weren't sure it was real. We thought it was like some tyot schoolyard rumor type of thing.
Why do you need guns, where does it fit in?
Why would you need guns anyway when Pokemon are generally more powerful than them?
>pick up gun and shoot someone, they're dead
>pick up pokeball, wait for pokemon to leave pokeball, yell at pokemon to use move, have pokemon use move, hope said pokemon is fast enough, hope said pokemon is strong enough to significantly hurt who you're attacking (given a random thug survived the strongest attack from the most powerful trainer in the region in one game, it's doubtful pokemon are even that strong compared to humans), they're dead
Pokemon are more varied overall than guns, but guns are more efficient at killing.
>it's doubtful pokemon are that strong
moron pikachu is constantly fricking team rocket up. A charizard could kill you if it wanted
Name one person Pikachu has ever killed or significantly injured with shocks.
>b-but Pikachu is le nice!
Pikachu has gone through mood swings, mind control, blind rage dozens of times and has never done shit. Its always treated as a gag people easily walk off in a few seconds.
Lance's Dragonite is literally the most powerful Pokemon in all of Johto and using its most powerful move it only knocked out some random guy. Pokemon in general killing people is extremely rare, the few instances of it happening are mostly ghost types allegedly dragging people to hell or legendaries
It lost it's grimy post-war Japan 90s aesthetic and made the Pokemon world an idealized setting.
Pokemon was always utopic, it just used to have a bit more grim in the crevices
If someone was robbing your house in Pokemon earth you wouldn't shoot them with your rifle you'd throw a Pokeball at em instead
They weren't even in anon. Nor RG or the Zukan suggested their existence.
They weren't removed.
Heck, there's literally the mention of a cannon in Genesect's entry so weapons do exist in some form.
Guns make almost every fictional setting worse. They’re just no fun. Too lethal, too fast, too easy to use, too impersonal.
You have no imagination. Guns don't fit in Pokémon but there's plenty of other settings where they perfectly fit in
I didn’t say they don’t fit, I say they make things worse.
Wow, I actually agree with this. I never thought about it before, but there are very few times I've seen guns done well (in anime). And whenever they're added, they have to turn up the fantasy settings super high and make shit like "gunkatta" or magic bullets or something to make it work. Regular guns are just boring.
I was going to say Trigun until I actually read what you said.
>they have to turn up the fantasy settings super high and make shit like "gunkatta" or magic bullets or something to make it work.
How is that different to super special magic swords and giant slabs of meta on someone's back
>How is that different to super special magic swords and giant slabs of meta on someone's back
What do you mean?
Made-up guns(gunkatta) and magical guns(magic bullets) aren't different than magical swords that return to you, or talk, or made up fantasy weapons, like Gut's or Cloud's giant swords. I do not see the difference.
That's nice, but what does that have to do with my post...?
Get fricked in the ass Obi-Wan
Yes. You'd be surprised just how many Pokemon resist or flat out immune to guns.
While there's little reason to show or mention guns in the franchise, claiming they don't even exist just feels even more off
explain remoraid and octillery then.
Why was this episode banned but not the one with electabuzz and scyther when the towns people aimed at ash or when Officer Jenny aimed at Ash in the saferi zone?
The Safari Zone warden actually shot his gun instead of there being a quick gag.
