Uematsu also worked/composed with Soken for XIV. They are in the same tier. Guess who won best soundtrack for 2023? And what do you know? Both Uematsu and Soken composed XVI.
Fun fact too, XIV has the Guinness world record for most original tracks.
>Both Uematsu and Soken composed XVI.
Uematsu had nothing to do with XVI. Soken is just a hack that can't come up with original melodies so he randomly decides to use the FF1 Overworld theme for Barnabas, among many others.
kek. this guy is one of the sloppiest composer square ever had. He never did a single good overworld theme, he can't do loops and his boss themes are pure AI slop.
As much as I love Martin O'Donnell's work he's only really known for being the halo/bungie composer. I think Jeremy Soule portfolio shows how versatille he is as a composer.
His soundtracks are some of the best and most original I've heard in games tbh, and always contributed massively to the atmosphere. >C&C >Red Alert >Tiberian Sun >Dune 2000
I wasn't a fan of Mental Omega but I liked how the mod introduced me to the rest of his non-vidya discography. Dude's got some other bangers out there.
Still Nobuo Uematsu. The man's a musical genius.
Yoko Shimomura is a very close second though. Undeniable talent, but I feel like she lacks a magnificent magnum opus like Answers.
Gotta be uematsu, can't think of any other vg composer that has a multi game series that is nothing but tapping buttons while listening to his music. Gotta give a shout out for klepaki, whoever wrote the starcraft (1 and 2), and whoever did the Nero automata soundtracks though
I'd pick Marty. I like how his Halo albums are arranged in sync with the campaigns, but not in a 1:1 way. Makes for a good listening experience, especially 2, ODST, and Reach's soundtrack.
what's his favourite video game?
Name 3 Antonio Banderas games
He composed every JRPG soundtrack that exist and ever will exist.
Paul Romero
Is that the guy who did the Heroes of Might and Magic soundtracks? They're absolutely wonderful.
This is actually true, a lot of jrpg devs ripped off ynvgie riffs for their games.
>A challenger appears
This.
Been a fan since I first heard the Total Annihilation sound track.
not that white homosexual, not that racist white homosexual, not that chinkb***h who got fired lol
>chink
she's human, not chinese
I'm just gonna leave this here
yamaoka
Not a contest
Ganker is already a board notorious for bad or misjudged taste in games, asking them for opinions on music is an even worse gamble.
uematsu
Whoever composed OoT or Streets of Rage 2. Every single track in those two games is amazing. But also probably Nobuo Uematsu, let's be honest.
Alexander Brandon
Obviously not the number one top dog greatest of all time, but he's one of my favorites for sure.
David Wise created more perfect tracks in 2 games than most composers do in their entire career.
Soule is good but he can get really samey. Northern Diaries just seems like an expansion to Skyrim and that came out years and years later
My favorite stuff from his is KOTOR.
jesper kyd!!
Soule or Yoko Shimomura
Soken
14 homosexuals and dicksuckers are truly insufferable, he is a mid composer at best jesus christ
The man still composed even while battling cancer. I can respect that much even when I'm not a 14 troony.
Uematsu already stated that soken is his successor. Cope homosexual.
That doesn't make him better than him

Uematsu is the John Willians of vidyagaem music
Doubt anyone here knows him, but his soundtracks are the ones I listen to the most by far. His music in The Void especially is incredible to me.
Also this track he did for Knock Knock is great as well
FUYCK
Of course I know Mushroomer.
Frank Klepacki
His soundtracks are some of the best and most original I've heard in games tbh, and always contributed massively to the atmosphere.
>C&C
>Red Alert
>Tiberian Sun

Probably him or Mick Gordon
Still Nobuo Uematsu. The man's a musical genius.
Yoko Shimomura is a very close second though. Undeniable talent, but I feel like she lacks a magnificent magnum opus like Answers.
the main final fantasy guy or the one who did lightning's games
Is there a single composer more JUSTed than him?
soule, non-negotiable
Jesper Kyd
What's your favorite of his OSTs?
His Hitman soundtracks were great but I haven't heard any of his other stuff
He has some sleeper hits in lesser known games like this one: https://youtu.be/vHBxHYWsdDo
Jungle theme from the first hitman is one of my favourite tracks.
Michael Salvatori > Marty
Gotta be uematsu, can't think of any other vg composer that has a multi game series that is nothing but tapping buttons while listening to his music. Gotta give a shout out for klepaki, whoever wrote the starcraft (1 and 2), and whoever did the Nero automata soundtracks though
The Souleman
All of Soules music sounds the same
Jeremy Soule is based for being the Harvey Weinstein of videogames
BASED
his compositions + Emi Evans on vocals makes my ears cum every time. literally perfect combo
I'd pick Marty. I like how his Halo albums are arranged in sync with the campaigns, but not in a 1:1 way. Makes for a good listening experience, especially 2, ODST, and Reach's soundtrack.
