>incredibly forgettable combat
>stamina system is fricking horrible
>horse controls are fricking atrocious (yes even when tamed)
sooo when does this game start getting good
i'll admit the world is kind of charming

just do the shrine puzzles and ignore the rest
you need to do shrines if you want to have any kind of mobility across the world though, they're tied to the fast travel system
>horse controls are fricking atrocious
huh?
>incredibly forgettable combat
I disagree.
>stamina system is fricking horrible
It's meant to be a soft restriction in an open world game, rather than a full on no access allowed zone.
>horse controls are fricking atrocious (yes even when tamed)
Granted, DLC fixed this though and BOTW2 will most likely learn from this.
you can beat the entire game with the base stamina, it's just there to annoy you honestly
Not really. Without stamine you could just brute-force any mountain without thinking about your environment.
What are you talking about, its literally the perfect difficulty balance.
If you're skilled enough at the game, you can beat it without spending too much time increasing your available stamina. If you're not skilled, then you will have to play a bit more, collecting items and maxing out your stamina.
>incredibly forgettable combat
As someone who hates actions games or open world style games (I often find the combat in these games to be super boring an repetitive), I thought the combat was actually really engaging. In most action games, the attacks feel weightless (for lack of a better term). Just feels like Im button mashing much of the time. In BOTW, combined with the physics systems, there were a bunch of ways to approach fights that I felt were interesting and fun.
I dont understand this board sometimes.

The kind of gameplay challenge gamers like nowadays is a rather short gaming segment that is very difficult but can be repeated many times. A particularly hard boss like Vergil or Isshin from Sekiro is a good example.
BoTW doesn't have many elements like that so it's not popular in these parts. If there were hard as balls optional bosses in the wild the game would have much better rep.
Basically "combat is forgettable" means that there aren't many encounters that really push you to your limits. Since this is what makes combat memorable to many people here.

I don't think you have tried a good combat system in your life my brother.
And yet still better than Oot. Funny how things work huh?
And yet it’s still better than your precious dragons dogma.

Will defend what? This is high level archer bokoblin. These aren't a threat when up close and alone.
>*ruins your game*
Cook and shoot apples from trees
How the frick do I beat the thunder centaur above the mountain in Zora's domain?
The b***h one shot hits me everytime.
1. You don't need to beat him, and the main quest to go there slightly discourages it.
2. Shoot him in the face allows you to run up and mount him, getting a bunch of free hits that don't hurt your weapon.
3. You can't be one shot at full health. As long as you have enough food, you can keep going as long as you want.
Thank you
He one ko me because I only have 4 hearts right now.

I'm granted very early in the game but does your movement become slightly faster or something later on? Both the horse and Link are slow as molasses and I don't know if I can endure the entire game with such a massive map moving this fricking slowly.
Cook up some food it will give you strength to go on
The fully upgraded stamina meter is 3x the starting, letting you run for significantly longer.
The harder to catch horses are faster and have more stamina for galloping.
Also fast travel is always available.
You don't get faster per se but you unlock more quick travel points and become much more efficient at traveling through the world. Walking across large distances always take a long time but in late-game you can just warp to a high point and glide most of the way to wherever you need to go.
Why was this shit overrated game with zero replayability so hyped up?
It's pretty fun and it's Zelda.
>fun
Fighting the same 3 enemies over and over again while having to find a new weapon every 10 swings isn't fun
Dragons Dogma seems to be Ganker's game of choice. And, it's definitely a fun game. But, there is so much less content in it than BoTW, and you fight the same 3 enemies over and over. The only reason so many people here hate on BoTW is because it's a really great Nintendo game.
I was going to ask how long until the webms are posted but BoTW schizo is going hard today. I wonder what set him off now.
It’s the best Zelda and does the original justice. Fock you
