It was more replayable because there was the legendary hunting minigame. But there hasn't been any evidence of SV doing that again, so who knows?

It was only really a thing in gen 4, and then for later games that had marks that were used to filter out transferred mons from VGC. Such marks don't matter in SV anymore and transfers are allowed in VGC this gen. With Sword/Shield already existing and having every legendary, I wouldn't be surprised if they skipped over it this gen. They would have mentioned it by now anyway.
It's a pretty big part of every Pokemon game, aside from the original Gen 2 because it was just the roamers and the box legendaries.
Gen 3 relegated most of its legendary hunts to side games. Unless you really wanted to play through FRLG several times for each beast and were able to go to an event for Navel Rock. Gen 5 didn't have every legendary either, it expected you to transfer them from gen 4.
They only remained a thing in gens 6-8 because Pokemon needed to be sourced from that specific region in order to compete. Now that Home wipes movesets on transfer, they no longer use origin marks for competition.

Even if you were to include the Sinjoh event and the other Lati event that would only bring it up to 14 per game. If you're saying black and white 2 didn't have it then it started with ORAS and not gen 4.

Crown Tundra was basically 90% of the DLC in terms of content, but Teal Mask was much bigger than Isle of Armor, so it might be more balanced this time around.

A good bit, it added another form of raid battling with Dynamax Adventures dungeons (the ability to capture a lot of past legebdaries), The Galarian Star Tournament which added some more intresting dialouge between the Gen 8 characters, a good bit of new clothes and new legendaries, Calyrex, Regieleki, Regidrago, Galarian Articuno, Galarian Zapdos, Galarian Moltres, Glastrier and Spectrier. So yeah it added alot in comparison to Isle of Armor, especially for replayability, it got a solid couple of weeks out of me.

I had a lot of fun with the SWSH DLC and with SV as a whole so far so I can't wait.
Hope they do another batch of DLC for 2024 instead of another game but it probably won't happen.
It's hard for me to predict what they're going to do. Maybe we'll have a repeat of gen 6 where the side games come out in 20x4 and 20x5 is a dead year while they wait for another milestone anniversary for gen 10.

Legends was Game Freak's DP remake, because they themselves knew they couldn't, with moving the series to fully 3d, free-camera open-world environments make an ascended port of a previous Gen. And as it was a DP remake, it didn't launch until the appropriate time for remake releases, after the first pair and rehash content for a new system got released. Game Freak may do somethink concerning Unova under the Legends marque. but that's not happening until Gen 10's lead pair and DLC get released on the next new system. We're more likely to get some kind of revisit to Johto (and KANTOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO) first, seeing as they didn't skip a revisit to Kanto in the middle of remaking both RS and DP (both the whobies version and their own Legends take).

Gen 10 is almost guaranteed to do another Kanto game to capitalize on Pokemon's 30th Anniversary in 2026, so whatever game is in line for a remake will have to wait for the next gen. And then in Gen 12, they'll do Johto as the "retro" remake, which gives breathing room for the "recent" remake to properly settle itself in Gen 13.
