Honestly, this is the real reason I haven't bought a game console.
I'll admit they are stronger than my computer but it doesn't sound like they can even hit 1080p on some of these games, even some of the fidelity is turned down for the consoles themselves. And yet they dare to put that they are '8K' capable. I suppose the entire game has to be practically 2D blocks for that to be technically true.
It sounds like they need to release a Pro series already for both consoles.
I can understand early on in the introduction of the RTX meme that they stuffed these 2070ish(?) cards in the machines but feels like they need something stronger. Same with whatever CPU they have stuffed in these machines.

There should AT LEAST be the option to play the game in 1080p and get a consistent frame rate. Why do devs hate giving consolefriends options? I remember, in MH World, if you were on the base PS4, you couldn't toggle between the modes: resolution, performance, and ... beauty? I can't remember what it was called. It sure would have been nice, though, to disable the volumetric rendering and get at least a locked 30 on console. This is why I'm a PCgay now.

They really did though. They couldn't handle open world games at 60fps, and the Xbone famously struggled with titles like Dead Rising 3 at launch. The PS5 and Series X have good CPUs thankfully, but now that we're leaving the cross-gen era we'll definitely see how they won't be enough for the shit that some devs have cooking up.
