InFAMOUS 1 Cole or InFAMOUS 2 Cole? I personally like him in 2 better but I did enjoy his edginess and brooding in the first game. I also like the parkour clothes better than the yellow leather jacket.

1 is superior. the evil powers had better colors too
2 isn't bad but he's too clean and his new VA is noticable
black lightning is pretty damn cool
jesus that's awful, he looks middle eastern
You now remember OG Infamous 2 Cole.
1 is better in all ways
the alpha version cole was a black guy with dread locks that flew around on a hoverboard, and then I guess at some point they realized they were just straight up plagiarizing static shock
I'm pretty sure you can unlock him in I2, can't you?
I like his murderhobo design from 1 more but he had more personality in 2
2 is fake news and doesn't exist
1 is the only game in the series and Cole is a time paradox creating his own greatest nemesis; himself
Nah, Beast Cole ending is the canon ending.
Shit made me cry
so here is where the game fricked up
I played hero and then the final choice came, it was either side with the beast and ensure at least some of the humans in the world would survive
or roll the dice and risk everyone being wiped out
the "evil" choice was ethically the correct one, sometimes the kind hand is the one that kills
so I tried to side with the beast and the game didnt let me because my karma wasn't aligned
so whats the point of even giving a choice? the choice should affect the karma, not the other way around
bullshit game
Yahtzee summed it up well, in no game in the series does it ever make sense to choose, you either do all good or all evil run.
The whole point of the inFamous games was to let you choose to either be a comic book superhero or a supervillain. People who b***hed about the morality not being nuanced are morons who missed the point of the game
they forgot about the anti-hero for people that wanted to walk the line, that's as important as the conventional hero and villain archetypes
They didn't forget, they told you you be have superhero or super villian and you asked for anti-hero.
We have that but we packaged it in Prototype.
That's great but the game gives you the "choice" every time something happens in the game when it might as well ask you at the start.
>it might as well ask you at the start.
The player choosing the evil option every time there's a choice makes it feel more like you're the bad guy along with Cole. One option at the start and then everything else being on autopilot takes away that player agency. You feel more like an evil dick when you keep actively choosing to be an evil dick.
Also removing the choices throughout burns the "twist" at the end of 2 where suddenly you
angel/devil waifu is suddenly pushing you to change your ways and you actually have to go and do those things to swap sides.
I'm gonna let you in on a little secret: the good route was only added to Infamous so it would sell. The evil route has cooler powers/main character appearance, a more compelling story activating the ray sphere once vs activating the ray sphere twice, among other things, and the title of the game is fricking Infamous. It's clear the devs loved the idea of a supervillain game and put their soul into it.
However, it is a fact that games where you play as a straight-up villain and not an "anti-hero" don't sell. So, the devs change a few colors and recycle or just cut out parts of the evil narrative to make a good narrative and paste it over the gameplay to trick kids and normalgays into buying it.
The first game had something great for tye good side, you could accidentaly kill civilians if you were not careful.
That forced the player to act smart and conservative. Blowing cars to get the goons near them was a bad move because the blast would kill many innocents.
It was the best part of the game and was neutered in the sequel where Cole's powers magically spared civilians
The bad karma from killing a civillian is very low in all the Infamous games, so low that you would need to farm civilians to make a dent in the good karma you get from story missions and side quests.
Is there any proof that they worked on the evil path first? Interviews? Concept art? Sounds like you're just seeing what you might want to see.
Yes, the director preferred evil Cole and considered his route canon.
This was changed in Infamous Second Son because most players who bought Infamous 2 chose to play good.

Well he's talking about the evil ending for 2 but still, if he thought that for one he could think the same for the previous one. Thanks anon.
I wish they ported this dilogy to something modern
It was glorious kino
CAM ON ENGERLAND
Is there a reason they never bothered porting these games?
nuSony doesn't want you to discover they used to make good games, it's 95+ Metacritic cinematic goyslop or nothing with them
>Big stint of time where Super Hero/Super powers games were coming out.
>OC stuff too like Infamous and Prototype
>2023
>Capeshit is more popular than ever.
>No cool new OC super hero stuff.
>If super hero stuff DOES come out its a Mahvel or DC cash grab.
Fricking
ANGRY
>devs pitch original superhero game with well thought gameplay
Suit: Does it have Spiderman or Batman
Dev: No, only original characters
Suit: What, no Superman either? Stop wasting my time!
Kill suits, maim suits, slam dunk a suit into a trash can, fry suits in a wok.
1's voice actor was better
I don’t remember his character specifically but I liked the first game more than the second overall. The ice jump was useful as frick but I didn’t like some of the other changes to the powers - like your supers being tied to charges. They felt more like “the bug guns” when they just ate a shitload of power, rather than being get out of jail free cards. The weird bat thing seemed kind of silly too.
Haven’t played either game in ages though. Kind of tempted to replay one of them now.
>Infamous 1
>enemies are incredibly zany - meth heads with AKs, murder hobos with drones, future-tech size-changing spooks
>Infamous 2
>ice soldiers are the only truly bizarre foes. most of the game is spent fighting confederate rebel army men, necromorphs, and dinosaurs.
>Infamous Second Son
>enemies are rock-throwing army men and larger army men who can throw bigger rocks. Angels and demons show up for a hot second before you never fight them again.
