That is literally the defining feature of Sun Wukong, Infernape's inspiration.
So yeah, removing it would make it uninspired, because it would just be a fire monkey.
Actually there is a lot of regard for how it fits in with other Pokemon and it's not just a 1 to 1 copy of Sun Wukong.
Most notably the circlet and armor is turned into more naturalistic spiral shapes around his body that are still evocative but are distinctly Pokemon, reminiscent of Pokemon like Meowth, Ampharos, Slowking with their various not-quite-manufactured adornments.
The noodle limbs also help make him look more like, you know, a creature rather than a naked human with a mask like in the OP
>Actually there is a lot of regard for how it fits in with other Pokemon and it's not just a 1 to 1 copy of Sun Wukong.
Nope. They just lazily drew an animal and slapped shit onto it.

Again, as opposed to the OP pic?
What motivated the use of shackles? for this Infernape redesign other than throwing shit onto him?
I've already explained that the "shit" they threw onto the original design actually serves a purpose of being evocative of something else while not directly lifting from it, so what are the shackles meant to represent here?
Is he like a prisoner? How does that relate with the game that's all about deities and myths?

>Again, as opposed to the OP pic?
Yes.
>What motivated the use of shackles?
The fact that it's a fighting type that would usew weight training and preestablished Pokemon such as Primeape and Entei are shown to have shackles, which makes it more cohesive with the rest of the series. Which is much smarter than "hurr sun wu kong has tacky gold shit so lets just slap tacky gold shit on the most generic looking animal possible"

So your idea is to just take the idea of another Pokemon and slapping it on a different one?
That's literally the definition of uninspired.

Pokemon don't look like anything you moron.
Primeape and Misdreavus have nothing in common.

they’re both very simple creatures that don’t resemble animals unlike infernape which is a generic cartoon monkey with overdesigned shit tacked on

Yeah man for sure if there's one thing Pokemon's known for not doing it's using real animals as a basis.

Yep, Pokemon definitely never just takes an animal and adds some shit onto it.

Yeah he looked like a Digimon or something it was fricking weird.
At least now with the trademark Pokemon eyes and iconic Pokemon shackles he can finally look like a Pokemon.
>Yeah he looked like a Digimon
nope, it looked like a pokemon since it was simple (unlike infernape) and isn't just a recolored animal (unlike infernape)
you need to try harder with your bad false equivalence.
looks worse
Yeah.
Looks the same to me
>he
>blatantly post a naked female infernape
It's just a worse Primape. You ruined it.
Samurott if he competently designed
Thanks for objectively ruining them
I think Im gonna be sick
would frick
would kill
Excadrill is your trash design but good.
Cope harder
Excrement. I've never seen a fakemon design this bad.
>Samurott
Samurott should have been a fricking water/fighting Giant Otter
Just wait for a Floatzel evo instead
>hur dur we have Floatzel
We have multiple alligator pokemon, we have multiple dragon pokemon, we have multiple sauropod pokemon but God forbid if we have another otter pokemon
Infernape if it was the most uninspired Pokemon of all time.
>it's uninspired because there isn't tacky shit stapled to it
That is literally the defining feature of Sun Wukong, Infernape's inspiration.
So yeah, removing it would make it uninspired, because it would just be a fire monkey.

You mean like how the redesign lazily copies primeape?
It doesn't though.

Meowth has a real coin attached to the head. Not natural at all.
>extruded primape
no
Raging Bolt if he competently designed
u make this in ms paint homie?
5000 hours of it yes
Very impressive. Good job, anon.
primeape if he fire
>Infernape if he gay bara shit
nah
infernape if he KINOOOOO
Frick you, leave perfection alone
Don't use best boy for your genwar-homosexualry
Hey guys so here's my shot at a Pikachu redesign he just didn't look enough like a Pokemon before but I think I really nailed it with this redesign.
base pikachu wasn't a generic animal like infernape so your argument doesn't work
Yeah he looked like a Digimon or something it was fricking weird.
At least now with the trademark Pokemon eyes and iconic Pokemon shackles he can finally look like a Pokemon.

How could he look like a Pokemon without the eyes and shackles?
You're not making any sense dude.
no one in this thread is arguing that pokemon need triangle eyes and shackles to look like pokemon. You aight schizo?
What?
No dude a Pokemon needs shackles like it's the only thing they can possibly have that's not like, tacky or overdesigned dude.
Stop being dumb.
