Most card games.
I feel like OP means infinite damage in 1 hit, otherwise any game with an enemy that is immune fits the bill.
>any game with an enemy that is immune
? explain
Recently had a daily climb run with defect with both defect and ironclad cards and both classes power cards in my deck, that shit was the most obscenely powerful thing I've ever had, echo form demon form limit break heavy blade nuking shit from orbit
So sad that without these kind of gimmicks defect feels like shit to play unless you get god cards and relics very early on
You would have to have only this card in your deck to do that.
This is a better example of a card that scales infinitely
How the hell do you even reach that, there's not enough rest stops and upgrade events in the game to go like this
if you had prismatic shard you could lesson learned and dual wield to get an upgrade from every random enemy you encounter, which can mean as many as +5 from a single fight.
endless mode can also get a large number of upgrades but since that run ends in victory that's not the case here.
Not saying it wouldnt be a funny gimmick, but there's probably more broken shit you could pull with a prismatic shard
There are a lot of combinations in Isaac that let you stack into infinity, until the game runs out of items and the only thing you can find is HP ups.
>until the game runs out of items and the only thing you can find is HP ups.
Can't that be bypassed with Spindown Dice now?
yeah but breakfast rolls down into another hp up, and you'd need to roll quite a few times to get anything worthwhile. even then you're limited to a variety of like 15 items, because if you try to spindown the sad onion you'll just get a broken item.
Pic not related, right? It'll always deal finite damage.
It can do an infinitely high amount of finite damage.
It can be scaled infinitely, but yes it does finite damage.
paper mario and mother 3,
as long as you keep hitting the combo button on time
Mother 3 combos end after 16 hits, and the damage done on each subsequent hit after the first decreases. I think you can only end up doing maybe ~2-3x damage compared to just hitting the first attack.
Tree of Savior had some hilarious bugs which caused damage formulas to divide by zero. It was pretty hilarious when done to bosses which required an entire guild to bring down.
>in theory
You are like little babby. Watch this
The official rulings for this card are a fun read.
>If you give it lifelink and hit with it, you gain infinite life. Even if your opponent hits you with their own Infinity Elemental (or two of them, or three, or even an infinite number of them), you'll still have infinite life
>If you control Darien, King of Kjeldor (whenever you're dealt damage, create that many 1/1 soldier tokens) at that time, you'll create infinite tokens
>On the next attack, if you block Infinity Elemental with all your tokens, an infinite number of them will die and an infinite number will survive
>If your opponent controls a Blood Artist (whenever another creature dies, gain 1 life and opponent loses 1 life) at that time, the game will end in a draw because an infinite number of triggers will be placed on the stack, and no matter how many triggers you shortcut there will always be an infinite amount of triggers left to resolve
Infinity is a hell of a drug.
For me, it's Lovestruck Beast's ruling
>If Lovestruck Beast's power and toughness are reduced to 1/1, it learns that loving oneself is the first step on the true path to happiness, and it can attack even if you control no other 1/1 creatures. (2019-10-04)
That's good. Jadelight ranger has a pretty good one too
For me, it's Apex Devastator
Honestly, credit to them for even bothering to make official rulings for the joke sets.
inscryption
You can't deal infinite damage in any game.
Infinity can't be expressed or stored in any games memory.
A game can't run long enough to generate infinite damage from finite damage as the device running it will fail first either due to memory constraints or the device simply ceasing to function due for any number of reasons like power loss, age, cosmic rays, etc.
What part of "in theory" do you not understand?
The theory doesn't allow it either and my post explained why.
What you likely meant was
>in a hypothetical case where the rules of reality don't apply
That's not what in theory means.
Unfortunately you're wrong idiot, see
>Infinity can't be expressed or stored in any games memory.
Yes it can, since IEEE 754-1985 half a century ago.
That font is fricking atrocious holy shit
What font is it?
Inscription has Ouroboros who gets permanently stronger each time it dies and it persists between runs so you can have a 100/100 Ouroboros and keep making it stronger
none, I would guess. Don't most games store HP and damage as an 8/16/32 bit integer?
IIRC diablo 2 shipped with the barbarian thorns aura able to reflect and amplify damage from everything, including the barbarians thorns aura so whenever one of these guys would strike the other in PVP the damage would bounce back and forth building infinitely until someone died.
None of them
Don't be pedantic.
There was one dota patch where they glitched blademail and would cause a loop doing infinite damage
None, but if you are talking about hitting numbers so high the game isn't able to keep track of it. Dragon's Dogma. With the Act of Vengeance oversight the only limit is how many healing items you carry. Although it is just fricking around, a single Exequy is enough to kill everything except if you miss the heart on a dragon
