Adding romance options in the current year means you have to do more work since you need to add homosex options. And more work as we know is an anathema to modern GF
>Adding romance options in the current year means you have to do more work since you need to add homosex options
Quite the opposite tbh. Pick boy or girl and go romance a boy or girl. Persona did it in the 90s without even having a gender select
But I agree it would still be too much for gf
>"hehe I pick the female character because I don't like looking at man ass all day, you're the gay one here" >Female character is dating a man and you're at her POV
lol
I get this type of shit is popular with weebs, but honestly pokemon games don’t need this shit at all. It’s cringe considering the only people who want this in the games are grown men who are probably virgins
>It’s cringe considering the only people who want this in the games are grown men who are probably virgins
First of all, that’s not true.
Secondly, there’s literally nothing wrong with being a virgin, redditor-kun.
It’s not. It’s the reasons every gen works for new generations of children. Y’all just have autism and sexualize the Pokémon franchise because you’re sexless virgins
You shouldn’t rely to bait, anon.
You don’t even have to look at the newest games to confirm this, look at Misty and Sabrina and Lorelei in Gen 1, and the pervy old man outside Erika’s gym. Sex appeal and sexuality has been there since the start.
It's hidden behind a wall of tedious bullshit, probably because they knew that a dating sim in pokemon would be a hard sell. Buy hey at the end of it you get a pretty sweet HA Spiritomb.
>probably because they knew that a dating sim in pokemon would be a hard sell
It definitely has a sizeable niche, but normalfags outnumber that audience.
>probably because they knew that a dating sim in pokemon would be a hard sell
Absolute fucking horseshit. You want to know why the Persona series is vastly more popular than its parent Shin Megami Tensei series? Because it's a dating sim. Include a dating sim in a modern Pokemon game and it will sell like hotcakes.
I don’t ENTIRELY disagree, but Persona and SMT aren’t marketed towards literal children. Pokemon as a brand could get hurt if they try to put dating sim stuff front and centre in a mainline game, so they’d rather not take that risk.
The dating sim aspects need not have explicit scenes or anything, even just repeating Yancy's activity of "spend some time together doing an activity, then trade Pokemon" would work. SV already has pseudo-social links with the three friends and the teachers, so it wouldn't be that much of a stretch.
You can touch Jynx's and Nidoqueen's boobs in the 3DS titles, I don't know how a dating sim where you get to trade Pokemon with somebody is even sexual at all especially in comparison to that.
I feel like they've been testing the water a bit again with the friend NPCs and the teachers in SV.
You get a male and a female friend/rival that grow very close to you. I feel like they are written and presented in a way that the player is supposed to develop a crush on them.
Then there's also Carmine and Kieran which are also a pair of male and female NPCs that get close to the MC. And both are kinda popular romance archetype as well (Carmine is the tsun girl that warms up to you and Kieran is a shy guy that gets strangely obsessed with you? something straight of an otome game).
And with the teachers have you have an "affection system" that you can raise and unlock new scenes.
We've always had characters like Shauna and Lillie but they might be steering a bit more into it while pandering more to female players as well. Which is great if you're a bifag, it doubles your options.
Leave the choice of character to the player. You first get introduced to them over a voice-only call correct?
Hand out a prompt to select between Yancy or Curtis: >This a boy? >You're a girl, correct?
>moles
AWFUL TASTE
Beauty marks are great, you have shit taste.
homosexual
Yeah, it’s never coming back though.
I'm surprised, because they really have cashed in more on the waifu market in the following years
They are cutting it somewhat close with Masters but not nearly enough.
Adding romance options in the current year means you have to do more work since you need to add homosex options. And more work as we know is an anathema to modern GF

Yeah, they were fun.
I'd never expect them to go full romance but I'm surprised you dont get more options to hang out with your friends in these games
Yes.
Sad shit indeed.
Yes.
>"hehe I pick the female character because I don't like looking at man ass all day, you're the gay one here"
>Female character is dating a man and you're at her POV
lol
BW2 is the one game where i always choose the male character for exactly this reason
also the better giant woman script
>also the better giant woman script
What are the differences
iirc the main difference is your relation to the giant woman: big sister if you're Rosa and gf if you're Nate
also she stays giant if you play as nate which is based as fuck
>Nate
>Becomes champion
>Gets gf
>Becomes a famous actor
>Gets the best version of the game
This dude is basically Ethan 2.0.
Nate is the single most accomplished Pokemon protagonist
Ethan was a cuck though
That's why he is 2.0.
He is better, and improved.
How so?
Too bad his design is awful
The date thing is buried behind the most tedious mechanic in the game. You can play the entire game and basically never get any phone calls
I had no idea it existed until right now
It’s too bad Nate has THE worst male design in the series. He’d be a no-brainer to pick, otherwise
Shit taste, Nate looks awesome.
I'd like him if he didn't have the hat
SEXO!
I dont mind the hat, I think the hair just needs to not stick out as much. It looks better in some fan stuff like here
it's also a sport visor. which is kinda cheating. Not a real hat either.
Yancy and Curtis in Masters when?
I already liked Nate, but damn if I didn't like him more without the hat.
Many of the protags would look better without the hats.
there's a mod on romhacking.net that swaps the love interests for the MCs for both black 2 and white 2
>it's real
I want to impregnate Yancy so bad
>Curtis is improved in his idol form
>Yancy is downgraded in her idol form
What does it mean
It means you're gay
I get this type of shit is popular with weebs, but honestly pokemon games don’t need this shit at all. It’s cringe considering the only people who want this in the games are grown men who are probably virgins

Secondly, there’s literally nothing wrong with being a virgin, redditor-kun.
>nothing wrong with being a virgin
Only if it's a woman, otherwise you're coping
You’re either underage or retarded.
>THE worst male design in the series
The male SV protag has usurped him in my book.
Are you sure about that? I’d take a generic school uniform over THIS shit any day
Both are shit but Nate at least looks like a trainer, Florian looks like a shitty background NPC.
Nate (and Rosa) are sporty. He wears compression suit.
he cute
I never understood the problem with this design. Is /vp/ just crazy?
I agree with these but it's not like you can't make some tasteful romance shit without it being sexual or desperate for weeb cash
Not inherently but these characters suck
They’re never going to make Pokémon a dating sim. The games are never sexualized. Stop rotting your brain with porn and being creeps.
>The games are never sexualized
That’s just blatantly false.
It’s not. It’s the reasons every gen works for new generations of children. Y’all just have autism and sexualize the Pokémon franchise because you’re sexless virgins
Lopunny is based on playboy bunny that is a fact, it’s mega literally has ripped pantyhose.
Salazzle is also very sexual in design.
>feminine Pokémon
Normal people don’t look at those designs and get a boner you incel.
Normal people don't play these games long-term, dumbass.
Yes they do. Again you’re just autistic and can’t fathom people not being degenerates and fans of the series. Fuck off creep
And even before this everyone said Lopunny made them uncomfortable.
You shouldn’t rely to bait, anon.
You don’t even have to look at the newest games to confirm this, look at Misty and Sabrina and Lorelei in Gen 1, and the pervy old man outside Erika’s gym. Sex appeal and sexuality has been there since the start.
>They’re never going to make Pokémon a dating sim.
Masters.
I'm always tempted to give that a shot, but I really hate that they didn't make it turn based.
>BW2 is the only one I haven't played
>it has love interests
What the fuck, why have I just heard about this now. Picked up
It has two. One for Nate and one for Hilda.
It’s not a focus but it’s there.
>Hilda
Rosa, my bad.
>why have I just heard about this now.
Good luck with the side quest for it
No one really cares about them since being able to talk to them is a tile hunt. I imagine most players never saw them and don't know they exist
Stop being creepy. Pokémon doesn’t need a dating sim ever
How am I creepy?
>probably because they knew that a dating sim in pokemon would be a hard sell
Absolute fucking horseshit. You want to know why the Persona series is vastly more popular than its parent Shin Megami Tensei series? Because it's a dating sim. Include a dating sim in a modern Pokemon game and it will sell like hotcakes.

Children are absolutely not the largest % of the fanbase playing the modern games so that means very little
Yes, they should bring them back
I feel like they've been testing the water a bit again with the friend NPCs and the teachers in SV.

>can't be with Curtis if you play as the boy
It's just not fucking fair
Yeah shauna was a good idea
she was
problem was they didn't follow through
>Were they a good idea?
yes
Gen 5 was such a surreal thing. It feels like it's from a different series.
Leave the choice of character to the player. You first get introduced to them over a voice-only call correct?
Hand out a prompt to select between Yancy or Curtis:
>This a boy?
>You're a girl, correct?
The idea was neat, but they're too out of the way and there's not enough to do with them. You can't even figure out their secret identity in-game.
