Probably could have emulated it still, i'm not sure how well switch could emulate PS2 but square does have the advantage of a close relationship with Nintendo that the public making a ps2 emulator for switch wouldn't have access tot he same information

I was kinda sad that all these 3rd party Switch ports didn't get Android releases with their frame rate, resolution and settings adjustable now that there are handhelds / consoles powerful enough to play them.
I think if a big company had early on around 17/18 pulled a Valve and capitalized on Android with their own store and line of devices the ARM gaming market could have really heated up.
the problem is that the biggest market for these devices and the biggest developers of those games are chinese companies and they don't do things to benefit us. I have an old chinese gaming phone i bought from aliexpress and its pretty decent on its own merits but the hardware was rebranded with like four different bizarre chinese shell companies with custom firmwares and their own app stores, literally one model of phone that has been sold under multiple brands and im not sure if the company just reorganized or if they are marketing ploys to partner with a mobile game developer
i really hate to say that this market is shit because there is no pressure on the chinese to make a good product but it's true, the Steam Deck doesn't compete with their shitty gatcha game ecosystem and quite frankly most of those games don't work with buttons anyways. i wouldn't even be surprised if they completely gave up on mobile games with physical button controls so they can focus on selling people phones with big 4k screens
That's why I wanted to see a big American company with lots of money get involved in creating a store, liaisoning with devs to get ports, commissioning a line of devices.

I played the main story on switch and had a great time. The ability to transfer your save to and from PC is nice, I played the two expansions maxed out.
By transfering my save from the switch version to the PC version I own on GOG. It works for Steam, too. You have to log into the relevant account on your switch, and transfer any save you want. It works both ways, too.
This game is actually shit why do people like it. I'm not trolling. I tried to play it twice, and that dumb Black person kept putting his feet in my face so I turned it off...
I really don't understand the appeal of handhelds. Why would you want to play a video game when you're at the beach? Do zoomers really feel the need to distract themselves with entertainment at all times?
I wouldn't take something like that to the beach just for fear of getting sand in it, but just being able to walk out to your patio with a beer in one hand and a handheld in the other playing some kind of multiplat is a unique experience a PC cannot provide (until now).

I played the main story on switch and had a great time. The ability to transfer your save to and from PC is nice, I played the two expansions maxed out.

By transfering my save from the switch version to the PC version I own on GOG. It works for Steam, too. You have to log into the relevant account on your switch, and transfer any save you want. It works both ways, too.

Massive relative to PC, I don't have much hard drive space, i'm gonna have to just give up managing it and buy more space for Starfield though, both for my piles of mods and so I am actually working off an SSD since games are now made with them in mind this gen
