I don't like on the nose things, so sorry, chief, but not with you on that. All of the pals look so uninspired and even more "plush bait" than Pokemon is, yet it's going to go nowhere, I almost guarantee it. This isn't going to make GF change a thing and these devs are not going to put much more effort.
Cool that you can use this guy for ice grenades. In fact a lot of the pals have neat uses like that.
SO WHY THE FRICK CANT WE HAVE THAT IN POKEMON!
Foxsparks flamethrower is op and you can catch those at the start of the game ffs.
The innate field moves are half the fun of that game tbh, ore/dungeon scanning, special attacks, healing, mining, riding, flying, even the passives like lifesteal are cool and have uses
I can buy that it's a different genre from mainline pkmn but Palworld is LITERALLY what Arceus should've been and you cannot prove me wrong, it's inexcusable >YWNNA
Because Pokemon is about the turn based combat system.
What I'm seeing is that Palworld has exposed that the people in Ganker who claim they want Pokemon to be better are just shitters who got filtered by the combat system and want to turn the games into something else.
No wonder this place unironically thinks PLA is good.

Arceus shouldn't have existed, period, it's yet another spinoff that all it does is take the mainline Pokemons, butcher the combat system and call it a day.
Very glad it flopped.

You are missing the forest for the trees. The slogan "gotta catch em all" doesn't imply turn-based combat, but rather finding and catching magical creature friends. Besides, don't you think it's possible to have turn based combat and have more interactivity with the pokemon?

And what does "I wanna be the very best" imply?
The best at spamming Pokeballs?
>don't you think it's possible to have turn based combat and have more interactivity with the pokemon?
It is, I just don't want it because it attracts casuals who then start seething about the combat system.
If it was up to me I'd roll back Pokemon to where you couldn't let them off your Pokeball and the only character customization was picking your sex and name, everything else is filler.

Pokemon was never about le turn based combat, it's about going on your own personal adventure with your bros. The whole appeal is that your Pokemon are your buddies, not just weapons you use for battling

Exploring what? Exploration in Pokemon has always been "go back to this route you already went through to remove HM obstacles and get a Nugger or a TM while spamming max repels".
>the games were at their shittiest when they became linear railroading sludge in gen 4-7
The reason they became shit is because they started making them easier to pander to the "wholesome cute Pokemon" audience with trash like Amie or the picnics.
Though I'll say that the beginning of this trend started all the way back in Gen 3 with the Contests.

The main reason the games got easier has little to do with the actual design of the game, and more because the Pokemon got better stats and movepools.

I was able to do that when I was eight years old playing Pokemon Blue. >bubble beam >bubble beam >bubble beam >bubble beam >mega punch >bubble beam >bubble beam >bubble beam
For just the entire game.
I think I had to catch a Dugtrio to kill Lt. Surge at one point, and after that, there was just no reason to bother until I caught Mewtwo.
At least now with free, universal EXP SHARE it feels halfway worthwhile to use anything else on occasion.

Yes, and the people who've always done that are the same that then claim the combat system is boring, and it's not because of the combat, it's because the low difficulty allowing you the equivalent of just winning Street Fighter matches by smashing X.

I dunno. That's, again, what I did as a kid, and I just got into competitive recently. Started grinding metamons like a week or two ago, and I'm already at Great Ball Level 9 or something, which is the third highest in the game. I usually run the same three Pokemon every match with the three other slots filled for niche situations when I see a certain mon I have a hard time with in the lobby.
Gholdenglo is good; don't have one yet, and I fricking hate them on my opponents' teams. Toxapex is one of my main three, along with Dragonite and Flutter Mane.
Others don't really scare me.
My prediction of how a match would go: >you open with Gligar >Dragonite, use Dragon Dance >Gliscor uses Spikes >Dragonite, use Dragon Dance >Spikes again >Dragonite, use Dragon Claw >You switched to Gholdenglo >Dragonite, Fire Tera type, use Fire Punch >Gholdengay dies >You switch back to Gliscor >Dragonite, use Dragon Claw >OHKO >You switch to Amoongus >Dragonite, use Fire Punch >OHKO
(S/V singles is ass because it's only 3v3, but Smogon is even more ass for banning and nerfing everything that made the combat varied and interesting.)
I do wish there was a hard mode or a postgame where you actually did face those sorts of teams single player.

The combat is perfectly fine, the problem is the games don't force you to learn anything about them beyond how type advantage works.
If gym leaders had teams like this, focused on a battle style, instead of a type that's just begging for the casuals to just bring a Pokemon with a single super effective STAB, then people would be forced to learn how to build teams.

Literally no Pokemon or Digimon or Pal could exist except Wingull and Poochyena.
Think about how a bow works. That is a terrible idea to make it biological. Decidueye has ghostly energy used instead of bending like a bow to fire for a reason.
I'm posting on an anime image board for Pokemon, I assume that's a given.
I don't understand how this pertains to the Deer Palmon not "stealing" Cobalion's design because they are both blue deer.
Anyone have the Primarina hair thing being completely ripped and copied onto a Pal? That shit is actual plagerism. The rest can be passed as parody/ inspirtation but an actual model rip is a lawsuit.
I dont think you understand just how unlikely it is to completely "copy" an entire part of a 3D model especially something as complex and free form as hair.
>Fusion >Has different hands, arms, eyes, markings, colours, chest, and details.
The only thing it shares it's humanoid as in walks on two legs. Fix your eyes and brain rot.
Just so you guys know, in case you were not aware, the company is known to modify assets from other games. In fact, they have reused BOTW assets to create Craftopia.
I don't think they are hiding the fact they took Pokemon models and slightly changed them. If they are pretending it's OC, that's a load of bullshit.
IF a company can steal from another company, they can steal from you. Imagine you pitch your idea to a company, and they turn you down but make your idea anyway.
>These morons couldn't even bother ripping other versions of Moblin and Bokoblin >Even Nintendo almost always changes their designs except in the case of sequels
lol, lmao
Intellectual property is not real.
Me using the same character/idea as you doesn't stop you from using said character/idea, IP is a literal israeli meme used by the big corps to make money forever by gatekeeping the industry and forcing people to pay off copyright.
If I draw my own fanfic using pokemon characters, Nintendo has no right to sue me because they still can write their own characters, I'm not stealing an object or a piece of land, imagine thinking some homosexual ass pokemon design is being """"stolen"""" LOL
The Pals are 50% original, 45% inspired by Pokemon, 5% dodgy probably-stolen-almost-parody??? stuff.
Just saw the rape lizard in-game for the first time, those homies put in some lewd-ass animations too. Seeing it in-game doesn't really set off any Salazzle vibes, but getting a raid of the rape lizards made my dick twitch.
It's subjectively a theft, because while the model is completely original but is instead heavily "traced" over existing models, then kitbashed together into something entirely new.
PalBlack folk will literally defend this shit and come up with shitty excuses, than to admit that their devs are literally hacks for cheaply kitbashing models in otherwise original game. Game would literally be without any drama if devs weren't moronic.
I'm a PalBlack person and I agree it is heavily traced. I just don't care because it was such a a shit design in the first place. And either way, Pokemon deserves to be ripped off of it means they'll have to actually work to make good games and Pokemon designs again. Palworld is the tough love Game Freak needed. It can either drown slowly with it's poor business model, being outcompeted by fun "knock-offs" or swim and make better games.
the reason i don't like it isn't "plagiarism", it's that for all of gamefreak's faults, they make a lot of cool monster designs, and i don't see that creativity with palworld, just copy/paste ai generation. imagine if gamefreak died off to a company that doesn't know the first thing about monster design, no more new pokemon ever again.
I know, I agree. Most of them are extremely ugly, uninspired, and even copied. That's why Pokemon needs to be doing a better job with at games with fun gameplay and interesting content. The lazy, greedy practices they've relied on for years now trump any quality their monster designs have. And from what I've seen, It doesn't seem like the goyslop ingesting masses who play Palworld care if the designs are shit, just that the game is interesting and fun. If the monsters were Pokemon quality, it'd only be a bonus. I'm a palworld fan because of what Palworld can do for Pokemon IF, and only IF, Game Freak learns it's lesson.
but what lesson would that be? they can't change the gameplay of the mainline games to something as vastly different as palworld's, that would alienate everyone who plays competitive or not even competitive, just players who've built up a collection that they've transferred from game to game.
>but what lesson would that be?
For one, to stop churning out buggy games with dog shit graphics. They can get them BOTW quality if they would just work on them for longer than 2 years and with more people. Add the type of riding mechanics the fans have wanting for years, not the SV shit. Make competitive even easier to get into by fine-tuning the mechanics in one generation and not over a thousand games like they have been doing. Implement more in-depth crafting and camping mechanics than what was even in Legends. You could even have a feature that lets you manually control your Pokemon on the battle field like Pokepark, and their stats could correlate to how fast they move when you control them- Add the fast and strong styles in there from legends of you want to. Add ALL Pokemon to a game. There's a ton of ideas people have had that they could draw from.

i feel like that's a very obvious lesson with or without palworld. it just depends on whether or not they are given the development time they need.

It may be palworld that makes them see that they need to make more time. It's up to them. Give yourself extra time to make an actual game or fade away. I'd hate to see my favorite videogame franchise get any lower because they hate their fans, but if that's how it's gotta be then frick them I guess.

So I can just rip models from a game, import them into Blender or whatever, "trace" the general outline, and it becomes legally completely original, and I don't have to pay expensive furry autists or flip generic mass-produced assets to make money off my own game?
That's genius, honestly. Going to go torrent a few Blender classes right now.
palworld mogs pokemon so badly and it hilarious seeing tendies mald and seethe. holy shit white knighting for a company that thinks you are a joke and takes advantage of your nostalgia?? what a bunch of cucks.
We are being raided. OP and people making "gamefreak didn't invent X" arguments are not honestly expressing an opinion, they are pretending to be moronic. There are three different rabbit lines in Pokemon and while they're all clearly based on rabbits they have their own themes and silhouettes that make them look different. None of them look like Bugs Bunny, another character based on a rabbit. OP's image is literally Cinderace, but green, with a random fox tail, and you'd honestly have to be too stupid to use a computer to honestly believe it's not. The real scary thing is that there's an entire community of pantshitters dedicated to... whatever this is supposed to be.
> I haven't bought a pokemon game since xy
I love how this has nothing to do with anything in the thread but you’re so eternally assblasted about XY shitting on your favorite games that you felt the need to mention it anyway. I wish I could live free of rent like that.
>someone takes a pokemon changes its type and design to fit said type >WOW SO COOL >someone else does it >UH, AKSHUALLY YOU SHOULDN'T DO THAT BECAUSE IT'S LITERALLY STEALING
The question is, if you are going to copy Pokemon, why would you copy the shitty Pokemons?
This is what I don't understand of Palworld, you have four gens of great designs and most of the not-Pokemons are copies of the last 4, where all Pokemons are ugly and look like something out of a 3D cartoon for kids.
Because Palworld is meant to pander to the nuPokemon fans who want to go on wholesome adventures with your hecking cute Pikachu, not to the actual fans, and these people joined in with 6th gen, with XY.
>because pokemon is popular for the designs
Yeah, for the designs of the first three gens, not the Pokemons Palworld rips off which are all nuPokemons.
>playing palworld >find two of the wolf pals actually attacking and KOing some bunny pals nearby in the wild
it's kind of sad how this fricking indie dev who came out of nowhere has a better understanding of how to integrate monsters naturally into the world than game freak has for 20+ years.
Literally every successful company does this, even Nintendo. You really think Nintendo invented video games? They started making games because they were chasing a trend, and they continue to chase trends to this day just like everyone else does
Nintendo has a majority share in Game Freak, and Game Freak owns 33% of Pokemon, while Nintendo owns another 33%
So basically, Nintendo is the majority shareholder of Pokemon.
Why would they release Pokemon on PC?
>release Pokemon on PC >sell at the same rate as even a broken, buggy mess like SV does >while getting rid of one of the biggest reasons people buy your console
No one would buy a game for $350.
Face it, there's no reason for Nintendo to allow Pokemon, or any of their exclusives on PC, it would lose them money.
Ah yes PC games. My favorite. Unoptimized games that require me to keep upgrading my graphics card because they don't care to do compression. Say what you will but at least console games have to actually work.
>buy the game because everyone said it was Pokemon for adults >Pals designs seem a bit too cute for my taste, but at least you can kill them >lmao you can even enslave them >then they start interacting with you >hugs, holding hands and petting
It was going so well but it's like these type of games need a quota of homosexualry to fullfill.
But that's the thing, what I want out of an adult Pokemon is serious game that acknowledges these creatures are basically bears and dinosaurs on steroids who could obliterate you within a second.
This isn't adult Pokemon, it's mid-teen Pokemon.
But that's the thing, what I want out of an adult Pokemon is serious game that acknowledges these creatures are basically bears and dinosaurs on steroids who could obliterate you within a second.

>mid-teen Pokemon >NOOOOO! STOP TRYING TO MAKE ME FEEEEEEEEL! I WANNA BE EEEEEEDGE
the fact that a game that isn't an RPG is still a better pokemon game than official pokemon games should tell you something about gamefreaks recent trajectory
i don't care if it's AI (this was debunked). i don't care if they ripped models (they didn't, the moronic who opened them in blender literally admitted to lying+editing the images). the og pokemon literally ripped monster designs from DQ in a far less imaginative and direct way and nobody is sperging out about it.
all I've seen so far is developers of far worse games seething and acting like crabs in a bucket. palword is, at absolute worst, a lite survival mon game that in directly acting as competition with gamefreak will force them to do better.
>the og pokemon literally ripped monster designs from DQ in a far less imaginative and direct way and nobody is sperging out about it.
Nobody is sperging about it because you've been told a hundred times today that your dumb image is bullshit.
if you really think the pokemon designs are as close to the dragon quest designs as the palworld designs are to pokemon, you're just a delusional shithead.
if pokemon autists are going to cherry pick a handful of monsters that look vaguely similar to claim it as an outright copy, then DQ falls under that same category. But pokemon fans, we know, are ok taking from other games, but if you attempt to tred their ground, it is sacrilege.
congrats, gold star... defend the multi BILLION dollar company that shits on your plate and you gobble it up every time...

I can hope that gamefreak gets off their ass and makes a good pokemon game. Play to their strengths, and put time into making it good. but they have shown they would rather cut content to sell it back to you later, all wrapped in a AAA price tag, Palworld may not last past the week, but what it accomplished can't be denied. It exacerbates what we already know, Gamefreak doesn't want to take the steps to make the game good, they just need to make a product. And somehow, pokemon fans can't step back and realize how far behind it is in the gaming landscape, yet has infinitely more resources that they CAN use, but won't, for whatever reason they may give, they really don't seem competent in the 3d era on a "home" console. And that is what truly bothers me.

there's varying degrees of copying. making a monster design off a general concept like an early dungeon bat or a generic dragon is different than actually taking literal chunks of models and frankensteining them together.
You're wasting your time. The idea that someone said to two different artists from two different companies "hey we need a bat monster," and both artists came up with monsters recognizably based on bats but also completely different from one another is too advanced for these ESLs.
>has collectable creatures you have to catch in a ball >store them in a box >they have moves that can be customized and learn new moves as they level. >customizable "team" >stats that can be buffed. >breeding mechanics to get stronger creatures. >types that have advantages and disadvantages, despite not really telling you that well visually.
The only real difference is one is turn based and one is real time...
The irony truly is that it isn't JUST pokemon influenced gameplay, it has MORE, and looks better than and runs buttery smooth. I hope Gamefreak actually learns something from palworlds success...
>The irony truly is that it isn't JUST pokemon influenced gameplay, it has MORE
in that the gameplay is a completely different genre. do you think gamefreak should "learn" to completely change genres? that's not gonna happen and gamefreak would be stupid to do so. you're stupid. if you had your way you would bankrupt the world's wealthiest franchise, that's how dumb your ideas are.
you fail to see the actual point.
Pokemon CAN be ANYTHING, but it refuses to innovate in any way, it adds a gimmick, then removes it, and as of late, takes content (ie the pokemon) to sell them back as dlc.
Gamefreak don't need to change the genre, they just need to actually care about the BILLION DOLLAR juggernaut it is, yet it continues to pump out subpar slop. Because it just has to exist, the only role the games have is to shit out a new region with new mons, to then churn the wheel of merchandise. The cards, the anime, the toys, etc... If any other dev made something like what pokemon CURRENTLY is, it would be wiped off the map asap. because people like you allow Gamefreak to be complacent..
what do you want out of pokemon then? just be specific, no one's gonna know what you want when you don't say what you want.
if you're fine with the core gameplay the same, what exactly are you looking for beyond performance and graphic improvements?
they won't change the core gameplay because that would alienate the dedicated competitive scene + anyone who's built up and transferred their mons from previous games.

I want gamefreak to care about their franchise, and do everything they can to make it better. the facts are that a microscopic japanese team that had a budget of 10000 dollarydoos and included such team members as "high school autist animator dropout that worked a at a gas station some of the devs bought soda at and got hired from there" managed to create a game that was less buggy and more fun in an EA state than any pokemon product put out since gen 3

I can buy that it's a different genre from mainline pkmn but Palworld is LITERALLY what Arceus should've been and you cannot prove me wrong, it's inexcusable
>YWNNA
>The slogan "gotta catch em all" doesn't imply turn-based combat
And what does "I wanna be the very best" imply?
The best at spamming Pokeballs?
>don't you think it's possible to have turn based combat and have more interactivity with the pokemon?
It is, I just don't want it because it attracts casuals who then start seething about the combat system.
If it was up to me I'd roll back Pokemon to where you couldn't let them off your Pokeball and the only character customization was picking your sex and name, everything else is filler.
I want to be the very best...at turn based rock, paper, scissors?
Hmmm....
The best at battling, yes.
Not the best at taking in the sights and the best at petting my hecking wholesome Pokemoninos.
If Palworld manages to take all the numales and women who play Pokemon for the "Cute Critters™" and GF loses that audience then this franchise can only improve.
>Pokemon was never about it's main feature
What kind of logic is this?
>not just weapons you use for battling
But the franchise points entirely in the opposite direction, Pokemons are your weapons to fight and beat the game.
>it's about going on your own personal adventure with your bros
You homosexuals really need to frick off already.
That's literally how Pokemon is advertised, numbnuts
And pandering to the "I just love my hecking adventures" is what resulted in garbage like Legends Arceus and Pokemon SV, games more focused on open world distractions than the battling.
Pokemon is not "about" battling, the battling is just one part of it.
>remove open world part of Pokemon
>game is still fun
>remove battling out of Pokemon
>???
open world part of Pokemon
>>game is still fun
lol no
exploring is inherently a huge point of pokemon, the games were at their shittiest when they became linear railroading sludge in gen 4-7
>exploring is inherently a huge point of pokemon
Exploring what? Exploration in Pokemon has always been "go back to this route you already went through to remove HM obstacles and get a Nugger or a TM while spamming max repels".
>the games were at their shittiest when they became linear railroading sludge in gen 4-7
The reason they became shit is because they started making them easier to pander to the "wholesome cute Pokemon" audience with trash like Amie or the picnics.
Though I'll say that the beginning of this trend started all the way back in Gen 3 with the Contests.
"Wholesome cute" has been Pokemon's identity since the first fricking gen
>Exploring what?
The map.
>Exploration in Pokemon has always been "go back to this route you already went through to remove HM obstacles and get a Nugger or a TM while spamming max repels".
The exploration being bad doesn't change the fact that exploration is the large point of the concept and appeal.
>The reason they became shit is because they started making them easier to pander to the "wholesome cute Pokemon" audience with trash like Amie or the picnics.
No. If someone wants challenge they can just hop on PvP.
>If someone wants challenge they can just hop on PvP.
Reminder, these are the same people who then shit on Pokemon because the combat system is too easy.
Again, I hope all of you leave to Palworld and leave Pokemon for the people who want to play videogames and not have a pet simulator.
The main reason the games got easier has little to do with the actual design of the game, and more because the Pokemon got better stats and movepools.
>The main reason the games got easier
Is because casuals floooded the franchise and they get mad whenever they can't OHKO an entire team with their starter's STABs.
I was able to do that when I was eight years old playing Pokemon Blue.
>bubble beam
>bubble beam
>bubble beam
>bubble beam
>mega punch
>bubble beam
>bubble beam
>bubble beam
For just the entire game.
I think I had to catch a Dugtrio to kill Lt. Surge at one point, and after that, there was just no reason to bother until I caught Mewtwo.
At least now with free, universal EXP SHARE it feels halfway worthwhile to use anything else on occasion.
Yes, and the people who've always done that are the same that then claim the combat system is boring, and it's not because of the combat, it's because the low difficulty allowing you the equivalent of just winning Street Fighter matches by smashing X.
Imagine if the kind of player that goes around with just an overleveled starter, the cover Legendary and 4 HM slaves suddenly went up against this.
My prediction of how a match would go:
>you open with Gligar
>Dragonite, use Dragon Dance
>Gliscor uses Spikes
>Dragonite, use Dragon Dance
>Spikes again
>Dragonite, use Dragon Claw
>You switched to Gholdenglo
>Dragonite, Fire Tera type, use Fire Punch
>Gholdengay dies
>You switch back to Gliscor
>Dragonite, use Dragon Claw
>OHKO
>You switch to Amoongus
>Dragonite, use Fire Punch
>OHKO
(S/V singles is ass because it's only 3v3, but Smogon is even more ass for banning and nerfing everything that made the combat varied and interesting.)
I do wish there was a hard mode or a postgame where you actually did face those sorts of teams single player.
Pokemon was made for casuals from day one
>someone makes a Pokemon game that panders to compgays
>results in Showdown
>mogs the entire franchise
>Game Freak goes full on pandering to casuals since XY
>kills the franchise
>le flopped meme
>outsold by the atrocious DP remakes that literally everyone on the internet shat on
That's two games tho, divide that number by two and legends sold more.
That would imply everyone buys the game twice.
That was an extreme example, but there's a good amount of people who do. Even then, legends was released some time after bdsp and sold almost as much already.
Arceus won and is the highest rated Pokémon game on the switch
Arceus is the embodiment of everything wrong with Nukemon.
Scarlet/Violet and shield/sword *
Pokemon's combat is rudimentary shit and always has been
The combat is perfectly fine, the problem is the games don't force you to learn anything about them beyond how type advantage works.
If gym leaders had teams like this, focused on a battle style, instead of a type that's just begging for the casuals to just bring a Pokemon with a single super effective STAB, then people would be forced to learn how to build teams.
>Pokemon invented hedgehogs
>Digimon invented hedgehogs
>Electric Hedgehog
DON'T CALL ANYBODY
Let's face it, this is an improvement.
An improvement would be removing Lucario and all furfuragmons.
wtf I love Cinderace now
That homosexual on the right is clearly a ripoff of Super Saiyan Goku. Akira Toriyama lawsuit when?
Its impossible to say its a ripoff since its an anthro bunny
They have the exact same arms with tiny hands and "belt"
Actually shameless.
>left looks like an actual functional creature that could conceivably exist in real life
>right looks like clunky as all hell, feels more like a caricature than an actual animal
no cap frfr +1 xd
Care to actually substantiate your claims?
Congrats you have the worst take in the thread
>left looks like an actual functional creature that could conceivably exist in real life
What the frick are you smoking
Literally no Pokemon or Digimon or Pal could exist except Wingull and Poochyena.
They straight up gave it an actual bow and arrows, Decidueye incorporates the bow into its biology
Think about how a bow works. That is a terrible idea to make it biological. Decidueye has ghostly energy used instead of bending like a bow to fire for a reason.
It’s called parody , and it’s really only 3 or 5 designs, it’s just funny how much you seethe and how Nintendo can do nothing about cry
Defend this.
This is some "Luvdisc was supposed to evolve into Alomomola" type shit.
>same color scheme
>similar animal inspiration
OMG it's a carbon copy!
You are autistic.
I'm posting on an anime image board for Pokemon, I assume that's a given.
I don't understand how this pertains to the Deer Palmon not "stealing" Cobalion's design because they are both blue deer.
cobalion sucks so this is an improvement
just like the robot version
Where are the boots?
Palworld did it better.
Clearly different
Clearly different
Clearly different
Clearly different
its over
Is Luxray actually a Lynx? It seems less than Pyroar (electric) there.
Anyone have the Primarina hair thing being completely ripped and copied onto a Pal? That shit is actual plagerism. The rest can be passed as parody/ inspirtation but an actual model rip is a lawsuit.
It's clearly not ripped, just copied.
https://x.com/IuckyHD/status/1749266070676922479?s=20
I dont think you understand just how unlikely it is to completely "copy" an entire part of a 3D model especially something as complex and free form as hair.
You can clearly see the polygons aren't the same. It wasn't ripped.
Are you blind? Genuinely asking.
https://twitter.com/Sketchie71/status/1749430559225397730
Are you? Completely different topology, proportions aren't even the same either despite the overall similar shape.
>gamefreak invented 3d models
Some of these look like ai generated fusions of pokemons.
>Fusion
>Has different hands, arms, eyes, markings, colours, chest, and details.
The only thing it shares it's humanoid as in walks on two legs. Fix your eyes and brain rot.
left is much better
That's aggron + zekrom
Gamefreak clearly ripped them off, no shame
>Gamefreak invented rabbits
The company literally says that they copy different things from games, paltards continue to deny that the designs are copies
no shit they're copies
there's nothing wrong with copying popular games
Why make a pal knockoff of cinderace? Cinderace is hideous.
the pal looks worse though
improvement
the shillinh campaign going strong
I love both of these twink rabbits
Merely a coincidence...yep....
Left looks better so idc
Bro, that looks more like a digimon than a Pokemon.
Boohoo Nintendo and their tendie army deserve it.
You're on a Nintendo board
IF a company can steal from another company, they can steal from you. Imagine you pitch your idea to a company, and they turn you down but make your idea anyway.
>These morons couldn't even bother ripping other versions of Moblin and Bokoblin
>Even Nintendo almost always changes their designs except in the case of sequels
lol, lmao
this + the company overall is just a crypto scam
people buying palworld are smelly nerds
but i guess that what makes it a real pokeclone
They also abandoned Craftopia. GF are no Saints, but neither are they.
Absolutely shameless. Hope this game burns to the ground, and Pokemon next. It needs to die.
>S-suck it, corpo s-scum
Okay, little Timmy. 🙂
Gen 8 taught me that slightly altered mesh/texture = new model
I wonder if the SHSW sycophants are contradicting themselves now over this.
This looks a thousand times better than Palworld even though it's a BOTW clone, why can't Palworld look like this?
>nintendo invented goblins and technology and rock formations and grass
"No!"
Theft, but I don't care. Cinderace was a poorly designed piece of shit and I'm glad GF is being ripped off. Maybe they'll make better shit.
You have Cinderace hand syndrome
IT IS OBVIOUS that there are designs/models that are absolutely carbon copy/stolen and one of those is this one.
From there if that a good part of the Pal if they are a little better.
Intellectual property is not real.
Me using the same character/idea as you doesn't stop you from using said character/idea, IP is a literal israeli meme used by the big corps to make money forever by gatekeeping the industry and forcing people to pay off copyright.
If I draw my own fanfic using pokemon characters, Nintendo has no right to sue me because they still can write their own characters, I'm not stealing an object or a piece of land, imagine thinking some homosexual ass pokemon design is being """"stolen"""" LOL
>imagine thinking some homosexual ass pokemon design is being
Even more ironic considering GF themselves """""steal"""" designs too.
>Delta Species Cinderace
I'd hate to see my favorite videogame franchise get any lower because they hate their fans, but if that's how it's gotta be then frick them I guess.
they really should've never went into 3D. I knew back then they couldn't handle it.
People hated the simplest way to get to competitive
I don't know what exactly you're talking about.
And all the critics on the gen 5 pokemons designs?
So I can just rip models from a game, import them into Blender or whatever, "trace" the general outline, and it becomes legally completely original, and I don't have to pay expensive furry autists or flip generic mass-produced assets to make money off my own game?
That's genius, honestly. Going to go torrent a few Blender classes right now.
Don't be surprised if people literally call you out for this shit when you can just literally make original designs to avoid drama.
Gamefreak getting a taste of their own medicine.
well at last you didn't cite Dragon Quest.
palworld mogs pokemon so badly and it hilarious seeing tendies mald and seethe. holy shit white knighting for a company that thinks you are a joke and takes advantage of your nostalgia?? what a bunch of cucks.
It's sad that alot of these designs are better than the original but maybe it'll give gamefreak the push needed to prioritise quality
What's more frightening: people genuinely not noticing the similarities, or people pretending there are none?
the latter since it sets a really bad precedent.
there are similarities but the assets are different so there’s literally no reason I should care
MERIKKU! WHY DISU PARU WARUDO SHITO KEPU SERINGU? SUREE MIRION KOPISU SORU OREDY. SENDO MOA KAPIRAITO KURAIMU FASTO!
I haven't bought a pokemon game since xy and I won't buy palworld, but my bet is that its playerbase will drop very soon after it stops being fotm
> I haven't bought a pokemon game since xy
I love how this has nothing to do with anything in the thread but you’re so eternally assblasted about XY shitting on your favorite games that you felt the need to mention it anyway. I wish I could live free of rent like that.
This is literally Corviknight with Talonlame's color scheme
>Gamefreak invented ravens
>Gamefreak invented red, black and yellow colors
And it looks better than both!
This could ALMOST be given the benefit of the doubt, but the Arceus-like ring makes it pretty obvious that it's ripping off Type: Null/Silvally
>Steals worst design in the whole franchise
& Nothing of value was lost
>C-CINDERBROS WTF
These are pretty obviously based on Armarouge and Ceruledge, the armor and faces are just too similar to be a coincidence
>Gamefreak invented armor
>Gamefreak invented weapons
>Gamefreak invented black face
Palworld has a sambo pal?
>Real Centaurs, not a severed dragon or a dinosaur mushroom
Was this too much to ask, GF? I hope one day they give it a similar evolution to Pawniard
And I hope one day people who think centaurs make for good designs die out.
Having four feet and two arms will never not look stupid as frick.
Does anyone have the Goodra/Meganium fusion?
oh wow that's basically just meganium's face, I hadn't seen this one
goodra lilligant meganium?
Lucario but with human hands
>they actually gave him real pants
Based thank fricking christ the flesh pants were the fricking worst
>flesh pants
it's called "Fur" mongoloid
You're moronic and mentally ill, furry
Anubis but Anubis
And no random spikes
Inkay with Espurr's eyes
Decidueye minus the owl
Blatant AI copypasta, although whether there will be any way to actually prove that in court is another question.
They outright admit that they're trendchasers who just copy whatever's popular
>someone takes a pokemon changes its type and design to fit said type
>WOW SO COOL
>someone else does it
>UH, AKSHUALLY YOU SHOULDN'T DO THAT BECAUSE IT'S LITERALLY STEALING
Fan-made typeswaps don't pretend to be a different Pokemon.
Verdash is supposed to be a different creature from a different game, yet it looks almost identical to Cinderace
Unlike some of the ones in the fakemon thread that is up right now, right?
The question is, if you are going to copy Pokemon, why would you copy the shitty Pokemons?
This is what I don't understand of Palworld, you have four gens of great designs and most of the not-Pokemons are copies of the last 4, where all Pokemons are ugly and look like something out of a 3D cartoon for kids.
Because Palworld is meant to pander to the nuPokemon fans who want to go on wholesome adventures with your hecking cute Pikachu, not to the actual fans, and these people joined in with 6th gen, with XY.
>fans who want to go on wholesome adventures
That's the entire appeal of Pokemon, going on an adventure with your monster pals
See?
They are all numales and women who don't want a Pokemon game, they just want an open world Nintendogs.
PC normies are only familiar with early gens, by copying later ones they are less likely to notice.
Also easier to copy assets from later games.
because pokemon is popular for the designs
that has always been the case. nobody originally got into it for the gameplay.
>because pokemon is popular for the designs
Yeah, for the designs of the first three gens, not the Pokemons Palworld rips off which are all nuPokemons.
You can't fool me - that's one of those recolored Pokemon "OCs" from deviantArt
Unless palworld was literally claiming to have created Scorbunny then it's not theft.
Are you a moron? I'm genuinely asking. I need to know how mean I'm allowed to be to you. Do you not understand how plagiarism works?
>playing palworld
>find two of the wolf pals actually attacking and KOing some bunny pals nearby in the wild
it's kind of sad how this fricking indie dev who came out of nowhere has a better understanding of how to integrate monsters naturally into the world than game freak has for 20+ years.
Aggron if he bug
ASURA MODE!!
instant team bro
For some reason, it makes me think of medabots.
The CEO of this "company" outright admitted that they're trend chasers who just copy whatever's popular
Literally every successful company does this, even Nintendo. You really think Nintendo invented video games? They started making games because they were chasing a trend, and they continue to chase trends to this day just like everyone else does
Ijust want to remind everyone in this thread that if Game Freak had released a PC Pokemon title none of this would have happened.
Nintendo has a majority share in Game Freak, and Game Freak owns 33% of Pokemon, while Nintendo owns another 33%
So basically, Nintendo is the majority shareholder of Pokemon.
Why would they release Pokemon on PC?
>release Pokemon on PC
>sell at the same rate as even a broken, buggy mess like SV does
>while getting rid of one of the biggest reasons people buy your console
So sell it for $350 and add new Denuvo protection every week. Problem solved.
>sell game for $350
Genius.
You know PokeBlack folk would buy it, and they'd make the same amount of money they would have if the same moron bought a console for $400.
No one would buy a game for $350.
Face it, there's no reason for Nintendo to allow Pokemon, or any of their exclusives on PC, it would lose them money.
$350 would sell. Unironically. People already buy new consoles + online + 2 versions + x2 dlc for both versions.
Ah yes PC games. My favorite. Unoptimized games that require me to keep upgrading my graphics card because they don't care to do compression. Say what you will but at least console games have to actually work.
Full list
yeah feed the algorithm with cheap asset flip scams
the gaming industry deserves to finally be put to rest
I don't care if it's bad for my brain, I want a Lunaris.
This one is very similar to a Smogon Fakemon
makes me think of Chandelure
Meganium gets ripped off twice, but at least this had a little more effort than Dinossom
Conceptually is meganium, but with Aurorus anatomy
That explains why my base smells so good recently
>buy the game because everyone said it was Pokemon for adults
>Pals designs seem a bit too cute for my taste, but at least you can kill them
>lmao you can even enslave them
>then they start interacting with you
>hugs, holding hands and petting
It was going so well but it's like these type of games need a quota of homosexualry to fullfill.
They're just preparing you mentally so they can introduce pal sex later
But that's the thing, what I want out of an adult Pokemon is serious game that acknowledges these creatures are basically bears and dinosaurs on steroids who could obliterate you within a second.
This isn't adult Pokemon, it's mid-teen Pokemon.
>serious game that acknowledges these creatures are basically bears and dinosaurs on steroids who could obliterate you within a second.
That's Monster Hunter
Monster Hunter is close, but there you just kill them, you can't use them.
A Pokemon with Monster Hunter aesthetic, that would be great.
Isn't Monster Hunter Stories basically a Pokemon game? I've never played it but my monhungay friends always say they prefer it over Pokemon
Yeah, and it's still full of homosexualry.
>mid-teen Pokemon
>NOOOOO! STOP TRYING TO MAKE ME FEEEEEEEEL! I WANNA BE EEEEEEDGE
So it's perfect for (You) then.
>STOP TRYING TO MAKE ME FEEEEEEEEL!
The only way it makes me feel is cringe at how hard the devs try to make me like them.
LEGALLY DISTINCT
It's pretty clear, anon
which ones feet stink more, /vp/?
iNsPiRaTiOn Or ThEfT?
I mean, you might as well claim that any caterpillar-based design is a ripoff.
>dude upper and lower cases lmao
Someone post the Palworld artist/s online portfolio(s).
>do pokemon better than gamefreak
>each of the 100+ not-pokemon has unique animations for being pet, working, even being depressed
i have no sympathy for gamefreak, this game that people call slop has more genuine effort put into it than anything since gen 4.
It doesn't even have anything in common with Pokemon. It's an early access crafting survival third person shooter, not an RPG like Pokemon
the fact that a game that isn't an RPG is still a better pokemon game than official pokemon games should tell you something about gamefreaks recent trajectory
i don't care if it's AI (this was debunked). i don't care if they ripped models (they didn't, the moronic who opened them in blender literally admitted to lying+editing the images). the og pokemon literally ripped monster designs from DQ in a far less imaginative and direct way and nobody is sperging out about it.
all I've seen so far is developers of far worse games seething and acting like crabs in a bucket. palword is, at absolute worst, a lite survival mon game that in directly acting as competition with gamefreak will force them to do better.
>the og pokemon literally ripped monster designs from DQ in a far less imaginative and direct way and nobody is sperging out about it.
Nobody is sperging about it because you've been told a hundred times today that your dumb image is bullshit.
if you really think the pokemon designs are as close to the dragon quest designs as the palworld designs are to pokemon, you're just a delusional shithead.
see
if pokemon autists are going to cherry pick a handful of monsters that look vaguely similar to claim it as an outright copy, then DQ falls under that same category. But pokemon fans, we know, are ok taking from other games, but if you attempt to tred their ground, it is sacrilege.
it really doesn't, you're stupid. frick you.
congrats, gold star... defend the multi BILLION dollar company that shits on your plate and you gobble it up every time...
if you truly were a pokemon fan, you would WANT the game to get better, not stagnate more than it has...
again, i just call it like i see it, i don't assume pokemon is in the wrong just because they are rich. i'm just looking at it and calling it like i see it. you're the one with motivated reasoning here. you aren't interested in the truth, only what you think will happen after the dust settles.
Don't blame the vast majority of GF staff, Blame the higher-ups who demand games be produced on ridiculously-tight schedules.
well gamefreak built their house on a fragile foundation, they are past the point where they have any say, they are just a cog in the merchandise wheel now, and I can only Gamefreaks heads for the decisions they made.
i can only blame Gamefreak heads for the decisions they made
messed that up.
i'm one of the people that constantly complained about swsh and scavio and people would tell me to shut up and stop complaining. but palworld is still a ripoff. so if you think i'm uncritical of pokemon because of my opinions of palworld then that just shows you're not a very bright person. you'd be why people don't take criticism of pokemon seriously, you hurt your own case.
>vaguely similar
Yeah no
game freak doesn't own the right to blue serpents
It is highly improbable that two separate designers would come up with two extremely similar-looking pointy-nosed serpents
you're right, it is, which is why they don't look extremely similar
Yeah it's totally coincidence that despite having two entirely different concepts (water spirit and French royalty), they look near identical
>they look near identical
I'm sorry about your crippling blindness
it's not the design, it's the model. and the pose to a lesser extent.
nta but you cannot be serious right now, you're shitposting and doing a bit right?
the hair is the exact same as primarina's, the curvature of the hair is as it is because primarina wears beads in her hair, but the beads aren't on the pal, yet the hair remains curved where there would be beads.
The similar posing really isn't helping things. I can accept it being a coincidence but even then that's being generous.
let me guess, water serperior?
>posting a model made out of kitbashed parts.
there's varying degrees of copying. making a monster design off a general concept like an early dungeon bat or a generic dragon is different than actually taking literal chunks of models and frankensteining them together.
>delusional shithead.
go back to twitter, troony
But Anon, only Dragon Quest is allowed to have a Bat, a Platypus, and a Tiger in the same first game
Yes, Pokemon is very much inspired by media like Dragon Quest.
But you’re not going to look at Psyduch and think “Oh it’s directly lifted from that thing from Dragon Quest”
You’re not going to look at Koffing and think “Oh it’s directly lifted from that thing from Dragon Quest”
Same for Nidoran. Same for Geodude. Why?
Because despite clearly being inspired by Dragon Quest, their designs are given their own wholly unique look and personality.
You're wasting your time. The idea that someone said to two different artists from two different companies "hey we need a bat monster," and both artists came up with monsters recognizably based on bats but also completely different from one another is too advanced for these ESLs.
>has collectable creatures you have to catch in a ball
>store them in a box
>they have moves that can be customized and learn new moves as they level.
>customizable "team"
>stats that can be buffed.
>breeding mechanics to get stronger creatures.
>types that have advantages and disadvantages, despite not really telling you that well visually.
One that can use their vast resources to make the development easier for themselves, and invest in making the game technically competent. Add any form of voice acting, even if it is animal crossing gibberish, anything to breath life into the stagnant franchise it is.
still vague aside from voice acting. you're not very good at this communication thing, are you?
stop and think about it from gamefreak's perspective. "make it better" isn't helpful advice.
Petallia just makes me smile.
>>each of the 100+ not-pokemon has unique animations for being pet, working, even being depressed
XY already did this but with 700+ pokemon but you morons keep whining about how it killed the series
stop pretending you have any standards
>XY
>"animations"
Bro, don't embarrass yourself like this
>maybe if I pretend the game doesn't have animations then the animations will stop existing!
why does nobody ever mention the literally my mom's Serperior?
Because it goes in like 4 different directions. Suicune colors and ribbons and bio is closest to it, hair like Primarina, ball tail like Dragonair. Not really easy to call a Serperior.
Less said about this abomination the better Its' like they kitbashed the Pals together from a Jakk's Pacific lot of Pokemon toys
Why do you need Serperior? Goodra already has a curly tail and the thing it could provide in leaves are shaped differently.
Wouldn't have if I made the meme
Explain this.
>Pokemon invented blue monsters with crystalline horns, flowing purple manes, and ribbon-like appendages
Nice bait but pokemon can't do it to themselves with the shitty paradox suicune
Fricking incredible. This is such a a blatant ripoff in the proportions that you can't even say that it was merely "inspired" by Cinderace.
i haven't even played palworld but I refuse to believe that people on this board (which is maybe the most critical place of gamefreak online) are actively running defense for nintendo and gamefreak and going "my asset flip is better than yours"
like shit man, despite being EA palworld is more functional and less buggy than sword/shield was.
see, you're looking at it as nintendo vs the little guy, so you're biased. you're basing your conclusion on who they are and not the facts presented.
>the facts presented
the facts are that a microscopic japanese team that had a budget of 10000 dollarydoos and included such team members as "high school autist animator dropout that worked a at a gas station some of the devs bought soda at and got hired from there" managed to create a game that was less buggy and more fun in an EA state than any pokemon product put out since gen 3
This is ALMOST distinct enough from Silvally, but then they added the Arceus ring around it
Eevee blanco
I don't care but I think it looks better. It looks more like a monster but it's still too humanoid.
PalWorldWiki has a bit stating what Pokémon was the most-likely inspiration for every single Pal entry, implying they're deliberately stealing designa from GF
