>Who created Arceus, then?
In the beginning, there was only a churning turmoil of chaos.
At the heart of chaos, where all things became one, appeared an Egg.
Having tumbled from the vortex, the Egg gave rise to the Original One.
From itself, two beings the Original One did make.
Time started to spin. Space began to expand.
From itself again, three living things the Original One did make.
The two beings wished, and from them, matter came to be.
The three living things wished, and from them, spirit came to be.
The world created, the Original One took to unyielding sleep...
"The Original One breathed alone before the universe came."
"When the universe was created, its shards became this Plate."
"The power of defeated giants infuses this Plate."
"Two beings of time and space set free from the Original One."
"Three beings were born to bind time and space."
"Two make matter, and three make spirit, shaping the world."
"The powers of Plates are shared among Pokémon."
"The rightful bearer of a Plate draws from the Plate it holds."
"From all creations, over all creations, does the Original One watch over all."
This is all pretty blatantly lifted from the Chinese creation myth:
In the beginning was a huge egg containing chaos, a mixture of yin and yang —
female-male, aggressive-passive, cold-hot, dark-light, and wet-dry.
Within this yin and yang was Pan Gu, who broke forth from the egg as the giant
Who separated chaos into the many opposites, including Earth and sky.
Pan Gu stood in the middle, his head touching the sky, his feet planted on Earth.
The heavens and the Earth began to grow at a rate of 10 feet a day, and Pan Gu grew along with them.
After another 18,000 years the sky was higher and Earth was thicker.
Pan Gu stood between them like a pillar 30,000 miles in height, so they would never again join.
When Pan Gu died, his skull became the top of the sky, his breath became the wind and clouds, his voice the rolling thunder. One eye became the Sun and the other the Moon.
His body and limbs turned into five big mountains, and his blood formed the roaring water.
His veins became roads and his muscles turned to fertile land.
The innumerable stars in the sky came from his hair and beard, and flowers and trees from his skin.
His marrow turned to jade and pearls.
His sweat flowed like the good rain and the sweet dew that nurtures all things on Earth.
Some people say that the fleas and the lice on his body became the ancestors of humanity.
>female-male >aggressive-passive >cold-hot
Hmm... you consider women aggressive and cold, yet you consider men hot... hm, anon, are you a homosexual?

i don't think they meant that every left word matches every other left word, and right for right, i think they just meant female/male are opposites, aggressive/passive are opposites, etc, with no direct connection between the groups.

Quick rundown? Ndver played Legends Arceus. What do they say about him?

What came first.... The chicke- I mean... Mew, The Egg, or Arceus?
Arceus isnt a god, it's an avatar of the real deal of whatever made the egg. There are multiple arceus too. No pokemon is unique regardless of legendary/mythical status. This anon explained it the best.
That's what I always figured was meant by "it shaped the world with its 1,000 arms" part in the Pokedex. Idiots may have taken it literally, but it's made especially clear in PLA that the Arceus you battle and tame is one of those many "arms." Which would give credence to the idea that Arceus itself is not a god, but rather 1/1,000th of a higher god, or more comparable to an angel. (Also it explains how you can take Arceus with you and not have the whole universe collapse, because you're just borrowing a fragment of god's power).

It has nothing to do with that. Masuda and Tajiri just think Pokemon are funny pet animals and nothing more. It's the same reason why they also ruined ghost Pokemon. They changed them to completely ordinary animals instead of actual ghosts and spiritual beings because they think Pokemon are just funny animals.
Hush! you may not question the word of the series god masuda. Arceus is not a god, Ghost pokemon are silly animals, The dex cut was made for the animations of finest quality, Charizard is not a shillmon, the nu-pokemon style does not exist.
Same guy who said this despite multiple pokemon in dex entries and lore info saying otherwise. (Diancie/Carbink, Carracosta/any turtlemon, Archeops/any birdmon, Mew being the ancestor of the whole pokemon species, ect)
Ever since day 1, it's been referred to in Japan as "kami to yobareshi Pokemon", ie "a Pokemon referred to as a god", "a Pokemon spoken of as if it's a god" etc. That's preeeeetty blatantly stating that it's not ACTUALLY a god, it's just revered as if it was one. It's localizations that censored out too-overt religious stuff like this that muddied shit a bit too much, which is why westerners never quite caught on.
Goku and Superman overcame deities from their own settings and aren't gods themselves still.
Neither of their fanbases has any issue with this because they have better media literacy than pokemon fans.
>"God" is defined by power, not religion
Not true in japanese culture. You can have a mountain kami that could be any animal, like a bear, a jabali or a fox. Japan dont use the word kami in the same sense that western culture use it for god as a symbol or power or religion. For them is more a representation of a nature deity that could be worshipped.
No, the deity IS Arceus. That's what the actual text says.
You're just trying to force the text into your almost 20 year old cope, but that's simply not what the text says.

is truth and even shows you giant cosmic light Arceus at the start
Whether to call this omnipotent, beyond spacetime, Creator deity pokemon a 'god' - thats up to you
of course you can also keep being in denial and stick your head in the sand
PLA Arceus is literally the pokemon version of DCs Presence - the first ever being that appeared out of nothingness/darkness/chaos and then created everything that is
>If you don't want Pokemon to be the same as your pet dog or cat who you can already just play with in real life, you're a furgay.

Alot of people skipped it for one reason or another.
PLA is not only a fun game but also runs better while also looking better than scarlet and violet. Hell, the attacks have actual animations. Like the pokemon move while doing attacks.
You mean like the whole Izanagi's eyes and nose become three different gods or Izanami births a god that spawns many gods? Because that's not what the image implies
They made Pokemon Legends Arceus to clarify this and people are still debating it to this day
Why are you so butthurt with Arceus being the God of poke-verse that you keep spamming some poorly shopped picture?
in PLA true Arceus is a multiversal nigh-omnipotent/omnipresent Creator God residing outside spacetime
Who created Arceus, then?

bruh
the egg of Arceus
making Arceus the Creator God of all that exists in the pokemon multiverse

proof that true Arceus is multiversal and omnipresent
time for a Deathbattle of true Arceus vs ZeedMillenniummon

I wonder what the original post he's replying to, said
>They made Pokemon Legends Arceus to clarify this and people are still debating it to this day
Quick rundown? Ndver played Legends Arceus. What do they say about him?
nothing, he watches too much fanfic videos on youtube. arceus isn’t a god and Masuda said so
Arceus isnt a god, it's an avatar of the real deal of whatever made the egg. There are multiple arceus too. No pokemon is unique regardless of legendary/mythical status. This anon explained it the best.
>an avatar of the real deal of whatever made the egg
Which is, per the actual text in PLA, Arceus.
>This anon explained it the best.
Your source should be the game, not another coping fan.
>an avatar of the real deal
That's what I always figured was meant by "it shaped the world with its 1,000 arms" part in the Pokedex. I suppose we will never see the real Arceus
>I suppose we will never see the real Arceus
we saw him in the intro of PLA
This is the canon, true form of Arceus (Satoshi Tajiri told me this in a dream)
i believe it
sounds about right
>of a higher god, or more comparable to an angel
No, PLA makes it clear Arceus IS the higher one.
The 1000 arms are the Unowns.
i understood this intuitively for as long as i can remember. like duh
>I coped for as long as I can remember
coped with what
With the fact that the franchise introduced a pokemon that created the universe.
Jesus created him
It has nothing to do with that. Masuda and Tajiri just think Pokemon are funny pet animals and nothing more. It's the same reason why they also ruined ghost Pokemon. They changed them to completely ordinary animals instead of actual ghosts and spiritual beings because they think Pokemon are just funny animals.

isn't this picture fake though.
Yes but no?
True, RKS is just a stupidly powerfull and clunky onahole!
Arceus isnt a god
Arceus is THE God
>Masuda... Are you okay..?

What came first.... The chicke- I mean... Mew, The Egg, or Arceus?
Rhydon, simple as
bulbasaur.
Everyone is looking at Arceus through the perspective of Western religion when he was 100% meant to be a Shinto creator deity.
Yeah, Pokémon is shinto polytheism.
Ho-oh, Xerneas, Rayquaza and the sinnoh dragon trio are meant to be gods as well though.
Arceus and Gen 4 mythology fricking sucks and ruined pokémon worldbuilding
Bring back scientific darwinism themes from Gen 1. Mew had everyone's DNA and that was perfect
cope Kantohomosexual
Same guy who said this despite multiple pokemon in dex entries and lore info saying otherwise. (Diancie/Carbink, Carracosta/any turtlemon, Archeops/any birdmon, Mew being the ancestor of the whole pokemon species, ect)
Im pretty sure masuda is just completely lost on the own lore of the franchise and is just pulling random shit out of his ass at this point.
Nothing says that, that's a theory.
He barely says anything about the lore and most of the issues people have with him(and GF in general) is him not agreeing with headcanon.
then what do you call the creator of the universe? Jeff?
Why do people spend so much time on Twitter?
Ever since day 1, it's been referred to in Japan as "kami to yobareshi Pokemon", ie "a Pokemon referred to as a god", "a Pokemon spoken of as if it's a god" etc. That's preeeeetty blatantly stating that it's not ACTUALLY a god, it's just revered as if it was one. It's localizations that censored out too-overt religious stuff like this that muddied shit a bit too much, which is why westerners never quite caught on.
"God" is defined by power, not religion
Arceus (especially true, not avatar one) certainly qualifies as God. And is also the literal Creator (God) of the poke-verse
Goku and Superman overcame deities from their own settings and aren't gods themselves still.
Neither of their fanbases has any issue with this because they have better media literacy than pokemon fans.
Goku/Superman arent Creators who formed out of raw prirmordial chaos who thought up the Multiverse into existence
Never said they were.
That's the problem.
Oh my Arceus!
Only morons ever thought Arceus was actually God, when the pokedex makes it clear it's just a myth that it created the world.
> it's just a myth
This was moronic in 2006 already but even more after PLA released.
Let it go anon, for your own sake.
Every dex entry about Arceus literally says "according to mythology...". What proof is there of it being actually God?
The actual game where its shown.
God is the one who created the egg that hatched into Arceus, not Arceus itself
you are a moron
No, the deity IS Arceus. That's what the actual text says.
You're just trying to force the text into your almost 20 year old cope, but that's simply not what the text says.
PLA confirmed that every word here
is truth and even shows you giant cosmic light Arceus at the start
Whether to call this omnipotent, beyond spacetime, Creator deity pokemon a 'god' - thats up to you
of course you can also keep being in denial and stick your head in the sand
PLA Arceus is literally the pokemon version of DCs Presence - the first ever being that appeared out of nothingness/darkness/chaos and then created everything that is
Everything is God and God is Everything, your "fictional" universes included.
Masuda thinks Pokemon are just beasts and pets.
They are, contrary to way furhomosexuals say
you mean contrary to what the anime and games say.
>If you don't want Pokemon to be the same as your pet dog or cat who you can already just play with in real life, you're a furgay.
Why do certain Pokemon fans think like this?
because they don't love their pokemon.
the anime warned us about people like that.
I love and would give my life for my dog, but Pokemon aren't animals.
nice fake tweet
There are way too many morons (or trolls) here who havent played PLA and dont know wtf they're talking about
So a normal lore thread on /vp/.
Alot of people skipped it for one reason or another.
PLA is not only a fun game but also runs better while also looking better than scarlet and violet. Hell, the attacks have actual animations. Like the pokemon move while doing attacks.
Got you guys
like Izanami and Izanagi.
You mean like the whole Izanagi's eyes and nose become three different gods or Izanami births a god that spawns many gods? Because that's not what the image implies
We need to go to Sinjoh
Yes he is
>le thinks dogs are pokemon
We probably shouldn't put too much stock into the words of a dev for a series that's played fast and loose with the lore already.
Pokemon "lore" was a fricking mistake
