>Invited to Monster Hunter themed 5E campaign
>Premise is that essentially some sick frick out there is creating hostile monster human hybrids
>Party is a squad of green trainees that get roped into the whole conflict by chance
>Monstergirl jokes are made despite the monster hybrids being utter nightmare fuel
>Through strategic use of magic and improvised explosives stop a small horde of abominations from wiping out a village
>Get officially inducted into the guild as full members
>Squad 621
>Feels good man
>Start encountering less and less horrific hybrids, some are even capable of rudimentary human communication
>Still hostile to human life though, we're ordered to capture some alive
>We basically have a small zoo of monster/human hybrids several sessions later
>As we rise in level and status the locals start calling us the Elite 621
>We're the E621
>Realization hits while lying in bed after session
>Sit straight up in bed, go to PC, start typing out this post
Anons, is there ANY possible chance that this is just a coincidence?
Has this motherfricker been trolling the group this entire time?
Sounds like he's setting up for a reveal where the higher ups want to use the hybrids and you'll get to destroy all of e621
Might be setting up a twist. What do you know about this GM?
He's an older dude, mid-50s, married, three kids, has never given any indication that he's into magical realms shit.
The group practically strong-armed him into running 5E after wanting a break from like 3 straight years of GURPS play.
>magical realms shit
Maybe he's just being funny. Is there anything about the game that makes it seem like it's specifically made to tittillate, rather than just using furries as a plot element? Yes I know that the website E621 has porn on it, but referencing the name of the website doesn't make the game into porn.
The description of the overall plot doesn't sound like magical realm to me, but if there were specific moments or details that felt too fetishy or made you uncomfortable, then you can either leave now or hang on for Mr Bone's Wild Ride and post back with updates about freak shit from the game. Depends on if you have something better to do with your time.
In recent sessions the descriptions of the hybrids have gone from the session 1 'horrific flesh sloughing abomination' descriptions and more into traditional monster girl territory.
He HAS described them as attractive -- though it's a bit hard to parse due to the more 'tame' way he describes everything.
Like the way you'd imagine an older guy describing stuff, he does it from a kind of old-timey POV of tradition and respect.
The more 'magical realm'-esque comments and content come more from the other players than the DM.
He's inserted funny references into most of his games -- and frankly if it was intentional I would be surprised he even know that website exists.
>GURPS
100000% furry confirmed.
inb4 OP's GM is David Pulver.
>The group practically strong-armed him into running 5E after wanting a break from like 3 straight years of GURPS play.
Oh my man is straight up going to frick your heads and you deserve it. Don't sleep tonight, anon. ...or any night.
The new Armored Core game calls you e621...
not exactly, Raven's (AC6 protagonist) callsign is C4-621
I read that as
>Party is a squad of green trannies that get roped into the whole conflict by chance
It’s too late for me. But you can still save yourselves from this cursed fate. Don’t feed yourself rage-inducing thoughts, even if it feels good to do so.
>The group practically strong-armed him into running 5E
Oh, it's on purpose alright. And you deserve anything you get, you monsters.
Is your handler called Walter
Got a job for you, 621.
This one's a personal request.
A contact of mine has given us a lead as to where the rhythmic slapping sounds at game night are coming from.
Get in there, and expose them.
My god, Raven, they're...
This is wrong. I've taken your comms link offline; kill them all before Walter re-establishes the connection.
Focus, Raven. I'm sorry for making you do this. Just hold your nose and keep shooting.
I honestly can't take anything seriously in AC6 when they call me that
I don't get it. Is 621 some kinda codeword for furshit?
e621 is the furry booru apparently.
>Waiting multiple sessions into a campaign to spring a joke like that
My hat's off to the GM. Godspeed you degenerate frick.
>Monster Hunter
>use of magic
>5e
>not using magic
>5e
Agreed. Should have used 4e and reflavored everything
it could be a joke, if the trend towards more empathetic hybrids is for narrative tension and less clear lines on good and evil then that's probably fine, but you'll always be on edge for the day he drops some sexy snake woman the ground is supposed to protect or something.
It could be just an attempt at referential humor. That or he's subtly mocking the group for wanting to play 5e.
Oh, he got you good, he did. Your digits confirm.
Incidentally, there were several "How do I subtly inject my magical realm into my game?" threads here in the last few months. Heh.
The AC6 character being named 621 is just furthering my assumption that the Japanese suffer from randomized thoughts.
>Flying to Pearl Harbour to formally request that the Americans bomb their asses
>Evangelion having tons of Christian symbolism with no meaning whatsoever because they looked cool
>Not a single person at From Software googled '621' before game launch- or if they did, they didn't speak up about it
having tons of Christian symbolism with no meaning whatsoever because they looked cool
To be fair, using religious/mystical symbolism from other cultures without actually understanding it is pretty universal
E621 is also MSG, the food additive.
That's apparently what the furry site references.
That said OP the GM is probably just referencing Armored Core 6.
>Monster Hunter themed 5E campaign
I would've declined
Slim chance of being Armored Core 6 reference, the protagonist's "serial number" is also 621.
And are there any chances Armored Core 6 made a reference to e621 themselves?..
Is there any chance you're moronic?
>In today's edition of things that never happened...
I did not know about e621 until this, i assume most people dont.
Yeah I think OP just outed himself
... what?
I re-read your post two times, and I still don't understand what the frick you are even talking or b***hing about
I had to google it. E621 is a booru-style furry fandom imageboard owned by the CEO of Bad Dragon.
I think OP's story is fake and gay btw.
>owned by the CEO of Bad Dragon
Huh, I didn't know that bit. A lot of people, myself included, learn about e621 from discord memes of absurdly long fetish-lists from it.
Good story. I don't believe a single word of it, but funny.
yiff in hell
>Premise is that essentially some sick frick out there is creating hostile monster human hybrids
Already completely out of theme for MH
This entire story is pointless because it should have been
>Invited to Monster Hunter themed 5E campaign
>"No."
>the end
>Monster Hunter themed 5E campaign
>monster hunter themed
>"so anyways the main enemy is monster-human hybrids"
So....not like MonHun at all
This never happened
You should roll with it and see what happens.
