Tri was not the first MH game but it honestly may as well have been considering how much better it plays over FU and how much more realistic the monster AI and animations are. I don't care if it's more a little casual. 2nd gen is antiquated.

It can be traced back to FU and Freedom which both streamlined resource management and the gameplay loop. The only entry that didn’t get easier was Dos, which is an anomaly in that it actually made monster hunter more difficult. have a nice day troony homosexual with no knowledge of your favorite series

It's just a step back from World in all the wrong ways, whilst also retaining all the casualisation and dumbing down of World.
I could respect Rise if it was intended to be a "Classic option", but as is I really don't get its purpose beyond being a version of World that could play on the Switch.
I got memed into believing Rise improved greatsword but all they did was force you to play the TCS style. At least in world the original crit draw option was still okay.

I got rid of TCS the moment I unlocked rage slash and never looked back. Surge slash combo and ACS only helped even more.
