Why the frick are these Pokemon games so expensive? There is literally tens of millions of them in existence since the old GB gens were what kickstarted the Pokemon craze. This is just a fricking ripoff. The gen 2 games sold like 30 million copies in total. $200 is hardcore israeliteing for common games like that.
I still have my Pokemon games and they still work fine. I guarantee tons still have their games. This isn't it because tons of old much rarer games don't sell for this amount. People for whatever reason are just inflating the price of these Pokemon games because they think they are rare is my guess idk.
i think its the box and manual that make this expensive as frick, ive seen it loose go for $50 though...
This I guess could make sense. Games in their original boxes especially if cardboard definitely is harder to get.
And what is your point? I said that plenty have held on to these Pokemon games. There was also tons of them made because of demand. What does age have to do with this? I swear you fricking gen Z fricks are such strange homosexuals.
So there's a lot of supply, so it should be cheap right, maybe there's another factor at work here that is making the price high... We should write a paper and win a nobel prize theorizing about this mysterious other factor...
but... i want the real thing back bros... i threw away the box and sold my copy when i was a moronic le edgy teenager, now im on a quest to return the good times
god has a personal vendetta against me by punishing me with this crazy prices, boomer scalpers have us by the balls too!
Go on Aliexpress, buy a reasonably priced GB Color flashcart (anything lower than $15 is going to break or not save), and use that instead. I don't even use original games anymore despite owning them because a flashcart is just so much more convenient, cheaper and can still be played on original hardware (if you're not a big fan of emulation).
I thought the battery was just for the clock and timed events? So the cart could keep track of time when you weren't playing?
no that's on ruby/sapphire, on GSC it maintains the save data too
it's really fricking easy to replace if you have a soldering iron and a pre-tabbed battery though, or solder on a battery holder component and you won't have to ever solder the battery in again
Yeah that makes sense, been like 25 years since I've played any of that stuff. Now I remember the old Gameboy games giving you passwords and such after beating levels
>The sooner you buy every single god damn game from an old system you intend to play, the sooner you save money
oh shit, oh frick! im still missing gold and yellow too, frick!
scalpers won, thanks for putting this into perspective
Just emulate it
I bought a CIB copy in 2012 for $50, imagine only buying games after youtubers shill them to you

i doubt they are all left though, lots are probably lost or broken

Not everyone is 30+ like you.

If it costs more than a GBC evercart, and you insist on genuine hardware, just buy an evercart.
This, or the EZFlash for GBA trade functionality.
Because of collectors such as yourself buying them.
If it's a shelf decoration, print it on cardboard yourself.
If it's for playing, get a flashcart if on real hardware and emulate otherwise.
There is literally no justification for paying 200 dollars for a fricking Pokemon Crystal box.

You're still a fricking moron. Possibly dumber.

Fools errand
$0 is a fair price.

you had until a month or two to get it for $10 on the eshop if you absolutely had to spend money for it. what were you doing all that time
It literally won't save your game. The internal battery in G/S/C only lasted 15 years at most.
I thought the battery was just for the clock and timed events? So the cart could keep track of time when you weren't playing?
The batteries keep the save files, dumbo
more like 5-8 years

I have a decent temperature controlled soldering station, going to look into that. Any recommendations on where to order the components?
Anon, learn
The sooner you buy every single god damn game from an old system you intend to play, the sooner you save money
the prices only get worse as the years go on
I collected every DS game I wanted to play back in 2015 and every fricking single even remotely obscure game has at least doubled in price
think of it this way - if you play it and you don't like it, just sell it for tons of money, very simple

You are so fricking stupid. Please die.
killing all pokemongays can only be good for humanity.
