If you also have a time machine, yes. It was very fun to play with Ganker and /vg/ for the first year or so. Without that, I don't think I would have put more than 20 hours into it.

If you've never played one before, yes. If you're a fan of the series with standards, no. Just go back to New Leaf or CityFolk and start a new file. For all the nice landscaping things New Horizons adds, it strips away so many layers that its shallow and unrewarding. It's basically a diorama simulator now. It unironically, to Ganker's overuse of the word, lost its soul.
It's just another series stripped down to its bare essentials to sell to normalgays and the mass audience who have no filter for games, and it worked. Bravo Nintendo.
Honestly, animal crossing woman piss me off to no end, why? I don’t know, there’s just something abou them that’s rage inducing, I think it’s due to the fact they only started to appear more and more with NH witch is honestly just a doll house simulator instead of a true to god AC game, there’s just a fakeness to them, I also guess because most of the time they don’t get what made the older ones so good, they do not understand the core animal crossing soul me thinks

I’m bored with it all, I guess I’ll just do a Rover and just go picking up random trains to god know frick where, I’m tired, all I want is to just go live in a small village in the forest with my favourite animal crossing villagers, no worries, no problems, I just want to travel around aimlessly and crash back at a decent house in a quite space filled with nature and good friends at the end of the day
What good comes from me raging at this stuff anyway? It’s not like anybody’s listening either way
It’s not like NH horizons is that bad, I had my share of fun with it, it just isn’t animal crossing or what I want out of an animal crossing, I liked the design of some new villagers and special characters, some look a bit too different style wise from the traditional animal crossing style but nothing that can’t be fixed later on
What bothers me is that I know next game won’t go back to what I like, this one sold million upon millions of units, so no luck going back, maybe after the next one there’s a chance but not by much

There is absolutely ZERO chance we will get old animal crossing back. Modern Nintendo sees one thing that is MONEY. This game sold close to or around 40million units. The series is dead to its old fans. Some furries better get to work modding New Leaf or City Folk, its all we'll have from now on.

I just want rude/sassy villagers. Were they only in the gamecube version? I have New leaf pirated but haven't touched it yet, partly because I'm playing new horizons and very disappointed by how sterile and happy the villagers are.
Sterile villagers started in new leaf. its not quite as bad as New horizons but its still bad. At least New leafs gameplay loop is still intact and true to animal crossing.
