Considering 2nd place lost to an RNG flinch, probably not
Don't cheat
Never. And I WILL laugh when asked my gender and you will LIKE it.
VGC? Absolutely not. But playing Showdown for a few random battles or dicking around in low ladder OU is always fun.
True AF
If you are old enough to be here, no.
No, it’s an unbalanced, unfun shit show. It’s only exists to shill CHARIZARD and considering that sack of crap didn’t even place in this Worlds, TPC can’t even do THAT right.
But charizard isn't good in the current meta?
That is surprising, but CHARIZARD’s Dark and Dragon special snowflake Tera forms will fix that.
Sure they will. He is shit even with potential tera forms, but keep coping.
Also why would they not put them from the start? you are schizo, but let's entertain your theory.
>1st place prize
>$10,000
>rng laden bullshit slopfest
no. the only people who play pkmn competitively are rich autists
i assume tpc is cheap, so the majority of that prize money would've gone to your flight and hotel fares anyway. but at least nobody can take your king of manchildren title away from you 🙂
Yes, morons here never played the game or are low ELO shitters. There is some RNG involved just like in any game that isn't chess. Anyone can bomb a tournament because of bad luck or bad matchups, but the best players are always the most consistent in the long run.
but is it fun?
If you like pokemon and turn based strategy games, yes. You could play 100 games between the same teams and get 100 completely different outcomes, given the sheer amount of variables: which 4 mons to bring, leads, each and every choice per turn, the RNG which may spell doom but in some cases you can still win even if you get haxed, it depends. A level of complexity that AI cannot even begin to understand, whereas chess might be more skill based but what's the point of watching two dudes playing when AIs are objectively better at that.
I'm trying to put together a team and play for a regional in October to try to prove to these homosexual autists that you can win without cheating because the game is braindead fricking easy.
The last person who tried to do that (Verlis) got stomped round one and went 0-4 cause he just left and was given automatic losses.
what happened to doing a hobby because you enjoy it?
if you don't like it you can stop.
If what you are asking for is the financial side, then what you need is not a hobby but a job
As much as I dislike gen 8 games I really had a better time there in the competitive compared to gen 9, probably because the moveset NERF of the majority of Pokemon in gen 9
