This is something I would have gone bananas over as a kid and I can only assume curious children/teenagers are the main people that watch it.
Fact of the matter is if a kid/teen is interested in this sort of thing and has a PC they can just do it themselves. He's been doing those videos for 7 or 8 years at this point, people either aged out of it or learned what noclip was and went nuts with it, I know I did when I figured out console commands. Kids now don't really care about that sort of thing, simple as that.
Also with 3D games you tend to see the same stuff, oh there's another NPC model hidden here for cutscenes, oh that door is just a prop and goes nowhere, wowie the level overlaps on itself due to loading zones. There's not a whole lot of hidden stuff that you can surprise you at a certain point which only leaves the novelty of seeing the models from weird angles. The channel being on a decline is down to the shtick being stale.

Bingo. These videos are literally, "holy shit, this is so cool," until you watch your fifth one, and you're like, "oh yeah. I guess I know how game development works now." There are only so many "what the frick is that shit?" hidden away stuff in games.

I was using mobile one day and saw Jontron in an ad for a war game and had to double take cause i thought it wasnt actually him dressed up in full army clothing.
One of his unlisted Q&A videos says he never did game videos because of the content itself it was a vehicle for him to do skits which explains a lot.

Gaming youtube was basically one giant goldrush boomtown. It gained prominence by an algorithm fluke and the popularity is declining for the same reason, random algorithm changes.
theres a reason why gaming youtubers quickly get a twitch stream or podcast going quickly after gaining popularity, its more sustainable and lower effort way for profit.
The thing is that his channel is overly specialized with a lot if breaks in between and as anon pointed out earlier by the 5th its the same things.
He could cover glitches, pllolygons, playthroughs or even click baiting but no, he doesn't.
