I'd say it is the most interesting game out of the original trilogy. I wouldn't even bother with 1 and 3 to be honest. 1 is super boring and 3 is super outdated so you're better off playing newer games
I actually love DMC2. It's not like the other games, but you can equip souls that allow you to perform different abilities. Also Argosax is underrated.
Dante running on wall, I think the shooting animation in DMC2 is really cool
yeah some of the animations and little touches in them were nice. lucia having a different backflip if you did two in a row for example or her spinny side-dodges and wallrun
It gives some context for how fricking good 3 is. Itsuno got put in charge of it at the last second with fricking nothing in working order and threatened to quit unless he got a greenlight for 3 right after, took the same team and then made the best game in the series.
>gothic aesthetic >godlike OST >Dante's design
Outside of those things, it's extremely short and easy, literally can win with just the guns alone.
Fricking love the music tho.
I played it for completionism's sake and to see if it was actually as bad as everyone said. It was but i can't say i regret it though i wouldn't recommend it. Cool costume though.

>Shoots everything on the babby difficulty and wonders why the game's boring
You nerds need to up your GAME.
DMC2 genuinely deserves to be played as a display of a game being made in roughly 4-6 months by a replacement director after a year and a half of dev lead to a single attack animation.
The original Gungrave is unironically the closest we have to DMC2's focus on gunplay in a good game and it came out a year earlier, so give that a shot too; it's about as long as DMC2, but way more fun.
I remember some Sonic 06 revisionism where the guy was like "It's not backwards compatable so most people consumed the game through content creators and echoed their opinions", Capcom do the world a fricking favor by keeping DMC2 in preservation so this shit never gets the "misunderstood gem" treatment
no, i liked the first game and loathed the second one so bad i lost hope for the franchise. later i heard 3-4 was a lot better and 5 was coming out so i went back to catch up and decided to go through the second one again too just for reference. and even then, knowing what to expect going in i still nearly lost interest again.
It's the second best after the first. The rest isn't worth playing.
I'll play it when they remake DMC2
Not really but its also the shortest game

(You)
GOTHIC
ATMOSPHERE
KINO
only the first level got the gothic atmosphere
Nah later levels when you're in the demon realm start looking like Soul Reaver with the twisted architecture reminiscent of german expressionism.
If you go into it knowing it's bad, it's entertaining to gawk at.

If you already have the collection, then yes. It's so incompetent you gotta see it to believe it
She's never coming back, is she..
she met Dante in the novel before DMCV event
after how trish turned out that's a mercy
Don't you mean Lady? At least Trish can rock that washed-up trailer-trashy barwoman style. Lady's jawline compared to 3 is painful so look at.
no i meant trish because femme fatale devil that doesn't age shouldn't turn into white trash cougar regardless of the execution.
Her voice acting was so shit.
i know just the person to portray her
Frick no. I will never understand why Ganker feels the need to pretend that a widely panned entry in the series is somehow "underrated"
Quick, Ganker! Posting something (You) genuinely like about DMC2!
Hard Mode: No Dante's design
Yeah, here's your crown.
Dante running on wall, I think the shooting animation in DMC2 is really cool
The music.
Best music in all DMC, together with DMC1.
The Despair Embodied (Argosax's second phase) was a genuinely great bossfight, and the only time it felt playing a proper action game.
Shooting enemies while devil triggered is funny.
unless you're an autistic completionist, there's really no reason to.
i can't think of a single thing. maybe jokes about the infected chopper if that counts.
yeah some of the animations and little touches in them were nice. lucia having a different backflip if you did two in a row for example or her spinny side-dodges and wallrun
level design and aesthetic is good
lucia is cute
more attention to detail than modern AAA games

Nothing fricking changes regardless of difficulty you shmuck.
Post DMD playthrough then.
>played that shit the year it came out, not going to and never will play it again.
one playthrough for the spectacle and shit just so you can discuss it is worth
>yeah DMC2 is shit
>shit right?
>yeah shit
Woooooooooooooooooah talk about ebic conversation skills

surprised there are no youtubers playing the revisionist historian card of "DMC 2 NOT THAT BAD????"
I remember some Sonic 06 revisionism where the guy was like "It's not backwards compatable so most people consumed the game through content creators and echoed their opinions", Capcom do the world a fricking favor by keeping DMC2 in preservation so this shit never gets the "misunderstood gem" treatment
