Stealth + Spirit + Lore and some decent res and you should have no problem getting through Hell unless you're playing a barb.

What is the issue? You can totally get through Hell with a Stealth
There are way better options for hell than stealth. Vipermagi or smoke. Res penalty for hell is too much for stealth. You'll barely reach positive res. Stealth is possible, yeah, but you'll be dying pretty often unless you farmed nm cows for some res charms for awhile and if you're doin that you'll probably find a lum for smoke anyways.
I've never even killed baal on normal... Got bored in act 5 and I couldn't respec... had shitty lightning build. Was my first playthrough. Normal is very hard. I only was able to kill Diablo by zerging him after death.
Lightening sorceress? You'll be chugging mana potions early but it's doable. You should always have static field which makes all the normal bosses easy since you can quickly chunk away at their HP.
charged bolt spam is a meta spell for normal mode speed runners, if you want to go the lightning route may as well max charged first and get the synergies until you can max lightning in NM,
nova was good before the buffs. You had "influencers" who made builds with the best gear possible saying that nova didnt meet meta status unless it had -resistance items backing it up dispite it being great at stunlocking enemies when you had basic FCR, and also requiring no synergies to be good which is a huge advantage. So they buffed it in the remastered thanks to influencers giving feedback on what they thought needed more love to be meta. Thats ok though i guess.

And D2R is one of those games where you just gotta read some guides, so many of the games mechanics are unintuitive and not very beginner friendly.
But once you start learning about stuff like breakpoints, which affixes to look for on gear, good runewords, what areas to farm with your particular character, getting around immunities etc. you'll be good.

yes its the only remaster in history of video gaming that is straight improvement. the graphics are pretty much perfect. sound effects are different underground / in tombs. everything looks atmospheric/dark as frick. sure, the character screen is pozzed but everything else is great.

gold pickup is automatic and much more storage space (shared tabs between characters so no need to create games to transfer items between mules)

That's relative because I'm a fan of WoW so the art style and new stories made it good for me. Specially because I could hear the game with PT-BR translation from the same team that voiced in WoW. But the errors made through development are bad enough for their well deserved bad reputation. The remaster does deserve to be shit on art and voice-style department aside.
Changing the art is one of its major sins. Even if it didn't have all the other issues, the change in art alone would make it a bad remaster because it completely disrespects the original game. If you like it good for you, but it cannot be defended as a faithful remaster.
