I loaded up resurrected last week and I have to say; it is a very faithful port. I was immediately reminded of why I hated diablo II when it came out as well.
Seriously felt trolled by that game. I could not understand why people were losing their minds over such a mindless, repetitive hack and slash. It's like we were playing different games.
this game is a fisher price gambling simulator except you don't get money you just get useless items that increase stats that ultimately mean nothing because the game is painfully easy

I just run around different biomes wacking creatures with a big axeuntil I kill a big dude with spider legs then the game ends?
Am I missing something? Seems kinda bare bones. On the barbarian castle level I kinda start running past the monsters
It's fun to learn how to wipe mobs as quickly as possible. By NM and Hell you are fighting massive groups of enemies and squashing them is very rewarding.
Never played D2 until a couple weeks ago. To all the contrarians, yes it really is that good. My only regret is setting the bar this high and knowing no other arpg will match up.
This game was unmatched in its time. Decades of relentless autism have optimized the game to death.
There will never be another game like this or Diablo 1, and even the newer Diablo games try to match the "innovative" new style of grinding with no difficulty and cosmetic homosex.

I bought it recently during a sale and man, I... just can't. I can't go to this from Grim Dawn. The movement is too jank. There is no going back. Which really sucks, because what else really is there at this level? D4 is average, PoE is way worse than D2 and a F2P mobile-tier mess. As for Crate, they're dicking around making Sim Village. The frick, man. It's a cursed genre, I swear.
