I'm not sure how they managed to make me bored just in the intro cutscene, the "crazy" fire fight after turned it into a very quick delete. Didn't even get to the much talked about "student debt" line.
it's obvious that the ip was over and they needed to move on. too bad their new game was trash though. maybe if they pleaded with other publishers they could have got tossed a superhero ip, it seemed like it was their time to shine on that front.
>Old EGS: "You want Dishonored man? Sure thing. Here's Death Stranding too. How about every Batman game ever made?" >New EGS: "Pwa--Pwease grab our free indie titles... no you haven't heard of them before... SHUT UP, THEY'RE CHEAP TO LICENSE, ALRIGHT?"
I have had Soulstice on my wishlist for years but didn't get around to trying it so this is great actually
Can't wait to claim it then forget I even have it on EGS
Didn't you read the news about them stopping the paid exclusive thing? They don't give studios money anymore or guanranteed sales. Best they do now is taking a 0% during the first six months if you make your game Epic exclusive. Timmy literally ran out of money.
oh cool shit, so on top on not asking for the unreal engine fee if you also release your game on egs they also give you 100% on egs sales if you make it exclusive to their store
shit, guess I was wrong, they are pushing the store very aggresively
Before that program Epic literally guranteed you sales. You make your game exclusive for x months and Epic buy hundreds of thousands of copies of your game in return.
Now you only keep 100% of the money that you make on Epic but no sales are guranteed. And keeping 100% of zero copies sold is zero dollars.
Not even being good can save you from Epics black hole. EGS fricking sucks at marketing itself.
Today they announced that Tony Hawk is getting a Steam release. And basically every site is running the news like the game is finally getting a PC release. Even though it has been on PC for year - On Epic Game Store. It#s just that nobody knew about it cause nobody buys shit on it.
Same with Sonic Colors. Nobody knew the Remaster was on PC until it left the Epic exclusivity hole. And nobody knows that Dead Space 2 is on PC either.
They spend all their money on buying out old games to give away for free instead of letting people know that shit is available to buy.

Them ending their welfare program that only lazy c**t developers used was already a sign that they're running out of non-service oriented incentives to draw customers and devs in.
They gave away a good amount of high profile games including gta v and it didn't accomplish anything so they realized there was no point and will probably stop at the end of this year.
I've grabbed nearly every free game on offer since the program started.
3 of them were worth playing, and I'm only saying that because they were free.
20 pages of free games, a massive heap of shovelware.

This is why I don't understand the hate for Tim/Epic. They seriously work so hard and bring so many positives for gamedevs. I would know since I'm a hobby gamedev using UE. They give free assets, 12% royalties-free (0% depending on conditions) using their engine, and really invest into their engine.
You can see such a difference with Steam (does nothing, was simply first in line and is coasting through with huge 30% royalties), or Unity (piece of shit doesn't even update their engine anymore).
I mean I guess gamers don't see the behind the scenes so they don't care about gamedev stuff. But as a gamedev, I can definitely see Tim really loves us.
I wish I liked dusk more for this alone but its absolutely correct. Theres zero reality where Tim "like....-smokes blunt-....just wants to take part in the economy of games" and his posturing behind this makes me frickin sick. Least he could do is be honest and just say "Valve makes a trillion dollars a year, I want to make a trillion dollars a year" all this bullshit was exposed when it was made known that they made that moronic apple protest ad months in advance before the apple controversy

yeah but it most certainly IS about money too. They really tried to take apple to court to forbid them from taking a cut of purchases made in apps hosted on the appstore, a serious fricking nonissue that they illegally tried to skirt around because MUH CUT! but also absolutely refuse to engage in any sort of open source or microsoft alternative conversation. does Valve really deserve their "monopoly", why doesn't Epic? we're talking the guys who grassroots from the bottom, who provided Valve with their game engine they used for several games before they forgot how to count to three. They're not the ones responsible for MTX hat cancer, they're not the ones who greenlit a lot of asset flip projects, they're not the ones pushing that VR gimmick, they're not the ones holding back the AI future.
all dislike of Epic feels so forced at this point in time.
Timmy wanted NFT games, frick off. Not my problem your greedy israelite ceo consistently bets on the wrong horse and cries that everyone else was wrong and his horse was actually the best horse! tiananmen square 1989
soulstice is actually alright. It's like peak anime edge kino. It would be better if it didn't lean so hard on it's fricking stupid color coded enemy homosexualry, but at least half the game is fun.
Unreal Engine is a drop in the bucket compared to Fortnite, it's good for their overall business strategy but couldn't sustain their spending habits over the last few years
Unreal makes around $100 million a year versus Fortnites $2-3 billion a year
They lived up to making their store appealing for devs but Steam has got too much of a stranglehold for customers. And that's simply because they are far superior than all of their competitors, not just Epic. It would be a good idea for them to put more resources in improving their store as they've somehow already surpassed other competitors such as GOG, EA and Ubisoft simply by putting more effort than them.
its never been lack of competition thats given steam the clear lead, its lack of decent competition. You wouldnt complain that Napa has a monopoly on autoparts when its only competition are the homosexuals at oreilly who treat you like shit but guarantee more money per sale to the manufacturers, also you arent allowed to use shopping carts for some fricked up reason

They're not the ones responsible for MTX hat cancer, they're not the ones who greenlit a lot of asset flip projects, they're not the ones pushing that VR gimmick, they're not the ones holding back the AI future.
all dislike of Epic feels so forced at this point in time.
Frick epic
Frick Tim
Frick chinks
simple as
Timmy wanted NFT games, frick off. Not my problem your greedy israelite ceo consistently bets on the wrong horse and cries that everyone else was wrong and his horse was actually the best horse! tiananmen square 1989
literally nothing wrong with NFT's. at least there's not content gated behind MTX. greedy fat frick Gabe
is Unreal engine a blessing or one of the worst things that happened to gaming?
Third party engines are cancer. Frick Unreal and Unity.
Why do you think that?
>gives shit for free
>"waaah why are they giving us this shit for free!!"
soulstice is actually alright. It's like peak anime edge kino. It would be better if it didn't lean so hard on it's fricking stupid color coded enemy homosexualry, but at least half the game is fun.
post em
I still don't understand how they didn't give up on the free games yet. No way epic is profitable
You just can't imagine how much money fortnite makes on top of unreal engine. Timmy is even richer than gaben
Unreal Engine is a drop in the bucket compared to Fortnite, it's good for their overall business strategy but couldn't sustain their spending habits over the last few years
Unreal makes around $100 million a year versus Fortnites $2-3 billion a year
>Timmy is even richer than gaben
he could afford to give all users $100 a week for many many years, but it would look bad to investors.
You wouldnt complain that Napa has a monopoly on autoparts when its only competition are the homosexuals at oreilly who treat you like shit but guarantee more money per sale to the manufacturers, also you arent allowed to use shopping carts for some fricked up reason
the shopping carts is a straight up lie, there's obviously a shopping cart, and you obviously are clueless and parroting memes
Well more people would know they got a shopping cart (In fricking 2022) if they actually used it for more then claiming free games
I've never understood shopping carts on Steam or Epic, who the frick buys more than one game at a time
Have you never bought games during sales?
Or are you just parroting Epic shill talking points back in 2019?
I buy one game, I play the game. Who hasn't partook in sales. Are you a redditor who posts their "hauls" to social media, fricking cringe. Good goy.
Soulstice was Ganker's favorite game for 2022, newbie
Why is it that I get that this is distinctly genuine shilling and not shitposting?
Because it is
Shitposters at least are entertaining to read
>not shitposting
you do realize that companies have openly talked about shitposting as a legit marketing strategy
right? like it's not 1998 anymore they've adapted lol
>Steam homosexuals too concerned about the $ they wasted on their steam accounts complaining about FREE games
every thread, cost-sunk fallacy homosexuals
>omgosh what a totally legit ubisoft leak, it came from an "anon" who said moron so it can't be an employee!
the absolute state of Ganker
Epic always has periods of shit "literal who" games followed by godlike freebies like Bioshock and Death Stranding.
The only good games they give out are during christmas. The rest of the year it's literal who trash shit.
I've got like 40 free EGS games that I've never even installed.
I don't see the issue. The games Tim gives away are being sold at the exact amount they're worth.
a shill who says buy less games, this makes complete sense to the delusional
