Is foxhole any good? I see people say ''it's mandatory to interact with other players'' and I can see how that can be fun bot also a living hell. post some experience with this game
I am genuinely asking, the image is just a bonus

its a game you pretty much have to be on discord for.
No, also clan homosexualry the game
>clan homosexualry the game
pretty much
You'll have many immersive or hilarious moments just by playing, you don't have to openly interact but screaming on the mic helps with the experience.
Hop in, go into a trench and spend 30 minutes getting shelled, there is no other game that provides similar amounts of dread.
However its only good as long as you don't engage too much with the cancerous side of clans and logistics. The moment you get a feel of the game is the moment you have to stop playing, 30-50 hours in
>there is no other game that provides similar amounts of dread
IS12 Warfare but only like 200 people worldwide know of it
Agreed but I think anon means games that don't run on engines written before 2000
(thanks matt)
Just always play as the colonials. There there isn't much discord and clans homosexualry as in the wardens
Short answer: No.
Long answer: No, but longer.
Solo experience is a steep climb. The learning curve is steep only because of the vast amount of stuff you need to learn, but they are all simple jobs that build on each other. Combat is enjoyable once you learn how to actually conserve stamina, aim, and shoot properly. Until then it's just meat grinder. Bridge battles suck and there is little chance unorganized groups can push them. Clans are hoarders who believe the game rests on their shoulders, and devs hate logistics so much that they've only compounded the issue each and every time an update occurs. Fact of the matter is you have to like the way Foxhole sucks to enjoy it.
Thats not a flaw. A single person shouldn't have any great effect. The focus for a game like this should be organized platoons or whatever the unit size is.
Logistics is a fricking meme though. Only autists care about logistics. Defending and attacking supply lines is a great job for small groups, actually driving the trucks is dumb.
Go play Trucker Simulator.
I disagree because the solo experience should not boil down to slavery.
There should barely be a solo experience and by design it should be signifigantly worse than squad/platoon play.
Clan mentality, boosted egos without the skill to back it up. It's your fault the Wardens are losing, by the way.
>Clans are accountable for how the war is going
How it should be.
The flaw is that you get these asshat clans that claim entire swaths of resources and facilities as their own personal territory, war effort be damned, and aggressively harass anyone who wanders close. All while they steal anything not nailed down and use mass reports on anyone they don't like.
If I could WebM better I'd make this clearer. This isn't even GOOD combat but you can expect this sort of gameplay at a front.
>can only see 20 feet in front of you
Objectively trash.
It's literally night time.
I still think foxhole would be better with a shorter day night cycle
>zomboid, but even shittier combat
hard pass
thanks for your service anon
I miss old Foxhole when it was just pistol, rifle, smg, and shotgun for the most part. Good times. They keep making the game more complex and not in the good way. Logistics is like a second job for no reason.
Thank you all who have contributed to making my thread as great as it is!
After taking all your comments into consideration, I have decided NOT to continue with this game.
Kind regards,
Anonymous
no
yes, it's a good game but the community is a flaming turd. the combat is a bit weird but once it clicks and you realize camping is the way you'll get good as they say. also artillery is some of the most fun shit I've done, except for loading but it's all about the team effort. I say do get the game but don't let clangays get in the way of your enjoyment. but don't sabotage them out of spite either, I've experienced the nerd wrath of these motherfrickers. just do friendly fire to assert dominance. and if you come across any French players call them slurs. do with that information what you will my friend
>''it's mandatory to interact with other players''
I didn't, but I also had negative fun. It's a fricking boring, shit game if you're playing alone.
Reddit game with reddit/twitch players.
It's fun but also aids, it suffered a lot from the building damage change that made most weapons not even slightly scratch even simple wooden structures
The games definitely got worse on the logistics side of things
Asymmetry was a fricking mistake too
you missed the boat it was worth playing in 2016-2017
No, the golden age of the game is gone since years and it's mostly unorganic conflicts between clan leaders that all circlejerk each other to the top of each faction.
Even as a mook, you'll just be cannon meat for organized clans, both as a soldier and as a farmer.
Like every game, it was fun when it was new and no one knew what they were doing.
Now that it has been solved, the game is just trash and not fun.
>Even as a mook, you'll just be cannon meat for organized clans, both as a soldier and as a farmer.
sounds pretty realistic now
This game used to have a skirmish mode or whatever it was called. Basically a smaller, quicker, and more condensed Foxhole. It was my favorite way to play the game. All the good parts without the filler.
You are probably better off with Running With Rifles (10 years earlier)
It's not that you have to interact with other players, that would be fun, it's that clans basically dictate what fun you are allowed to have because without large groups making/transporting things all you get for your side is a basic pistol and whatever you find on the ground. Then you have clans who get real fricking pissy if you touch any supplies and sperg the frick out and mass report you.
After the first awesome impression youll get, youll realize theres nothing to actually do, just run errands and fumble with the worst shooting and camera and fighting ever conceived, and the content is locked behind hours of grind but not around player progression, just clan homosexualry and plain grind.
For me?
I just like driving trucks.
And driving trains.
And driving ships.
It's a simple life, but I like it.
