No, swsh is better graphically than arceus.
Better graphics doesn't necessarily mean its more appealing. Like look at the horizon zero game dev complaining about how elden ring doesnt even have good graphics but they used all that "better" graphics to depict a woman with a comically exaggerated beard. A high fidelity, ugly beard.
I think the issue is in the interpretation of "better". A better term might be "bigger" as in, AAA games have the biggest graphics, but not necessarily the most appealing.
Yes, and anyone who disagrees is moronic. I'd love to know what the frick Sugimori was thinking and/or smoking when he re-did the official art for Gen 3, because holy fricking shit did he frick up. And of course they used that art for the basis of the 3D models.
And the great irony is that Gengar is apparently Sugimori's favorite Pokemon. It makes you wonder if he ever even understood what it was supposed to be. Does he even know how tremendously he ruined it?
The 3D models use the Sugimori art colours. That's why Gen 1 and 3 Pokémon are so washed out in the 3D games; they haven't been updated since Sugimori first drew them.
Pokemon was made for Gen 2. The advancements people have made in the engine and graphical style, while still staying wiithin system constraints prove this. Someone post Polished Crystal at Sunset.
prior to 3.0.0 it was LACKING the very Pokemon the original included??? either way im probs just gonna buy a copy of Liquid off ebay for my GBA since I dont care to hack a PCB together
yes, its so colorful and charming, and the shading is perfect
its especially much better than gen 3
>of Pokémon graphics
no one says this. Gen 2 is enjoyed overall and thats what makes it peak
>Art-style
Maybe, probably on this site though.
>Graphically
No
>No
So by your definition, the latest game in the series is the best graphically?
Yeah, if we're going what most people consider the quality of video game graphics by, which is resolution

It had the peak Pikachu design
Yes. Show me an image from any other Pokémon game that even comes close to exuding the amount of pure SOUL and comfiness that this one does.
Here you go boss.
>XY
Into the trashbin it goes
>water moves
>flowers dont
fricking trash
>Flowers ALWAYS have to move, even if there is no wind to blow them
What's blowing the water if not wind?
>blowing
That anon, obviously. Since he is such a wienersucker for gen 6
>the grass moves because of the wind
>somehow the flowers should stay still
bro the state of COPE of Kalosperms
lolololol even in Gen fricking one the flowers moved to the wind, wtf are they doing here
>Water waves
>Grass moves
>Tree is static
>Flowers are static
So bad it becomes hilarious

Gen 3 is an amazing exercise of fricking up colors.
And the great irony is that Gengar is apparently Sugimori's favorite Pokemon. It makes you wonder if he ever even understood what it was supposed to be. Does he even know how tremendously he ruined it?
Gen 4 uses the Gen 3 colors. The 3D models use the Gen 5 colors which are a little darker.
The 3D models use the Sugimori art colours. That's why Gen 1 and 3 Pokémon are so washed out in the 3D games; they haven't been updated since Sugimori first drew them.
It's not the most technically impressive game but it has most cohesive, aesthetically pleasing and easy on eye style.
>still
HGSS happened years ago, bro

that's honestly impressive.
looks cozy too
The Pokemon graphics were really good, but the overworld left something to be desired. Crystal should have taken better advantage of the GBC hardware.
No. It looks good but has been beaten by BW2 as the best looking
It never was. Hoenn is still king.
is Polished Crystal the only modern way to play? if we're talking graphics then the last thing I want to do is boot into Liquid Crystal
It's missing gen 2 pokemon, so no.
Not in 3.0.0.
prior to 3.0.0 it was LACKING the very Pokemon the original included??? either way im probs just gonna buy a copy of Liquid off ebay for my GBA since I dont care to hack a PCB together
Yes
Gen 2 is the most aesthetic but on a technical level it's still just gen 1 but with more colors
yes
Crystal's sprite animations are all works of art
That's a really subjective question.
Typhlosion's sprite in Silver is still my favorite to this day.
Crystal sprite is better.
I’ll give you battles, but there are definitely better looking overworlds
