He didn't know himself until the end and it wasn't killing Sin, it was permanently ending all the Fayths so Yu Yevon could never possess another Aeon's body to start all over again.
>He didn't even play the game and just watched the out of context laugh on youtube
As expected of people who get their opinions from youtube and don't actually play games.
>satisfying character arc, starts as childish and lost but grows into his role >design is pretty out there but it's not nearly as outlandish as it seems in the context of his game >legitimately extremely useful in combat, one of the best party members all the way through >extremely tied to the central plot of the game, always relevant and involved
>but HAHAHAHAHAHAHA right
That one laughing scene is responsible for destroying many a gamer's mind forevermore
I don't understand how people can misinterpret it so badly
he actually has growth and shows how he matures throughout the game, he's a good protagonist, people disliked him because he had to grow and didn't start off as turbo superchad.
He literally does. There are several moments of reflection on the way to Zanarkand that lead up to him rejecting the idea of the Final Aeon. Are you stupid?
>He doesn't grow or mature throughout the game. He comes to a realization at the penultimate boss
no, his attitude shifts gradually as he's mentored by auron, he eventually becomes less impulsive and less selfish
>He's still carrying on up until Jecht. Are you stupid?
you're dense as frick anon
he shows remorse at the summoner's duties as early as kilika
he initially wants the pilgrimage to hurry up so he can get what he wants
when he realises it means yuna will likely die, he begins to reject the final aeon
bahamut literally tells him 'you will disappear from existence if you win', but he pushes on anyway
then he reconciles with jecht too?
tidus is based and grows continually, you're just too moronic to follow a story

This reminds me when I was arguing with people over whether Jecht or Shadow are a worse father and they acted like Jecht was just a shitty drunk who never grew until the last moment. How do people miss out on context in a fricking linear story?

Further projection. Still reaching for examples that weren't there. Likely so defensive about the character because it was the first one you played.

Ok so now you've given up after not being able to properly articulate where and how the growth was achieved. Our dialog is done then. You've failed.
yes, they are just gaslighting. He's also a dream construct projection of a jock himbo with daddy issues so he was never "killed" as he was never alive in the first place. He's not real. Which is what explains why he's so inept and sporadic in Spira.
>doesn’t start off as turbo superchad
None of the FF protagonists do. In fact, Tidus is the closest to this archetype as he is a popular sports player.
Not at all.
He's pretty good.
He's a bit autistic the first 2 hours because he thinks he's in a different world and people don't even speak the same language.
But he's definitely one of the better FF protagonists.
I never understood the hate this kid or Raiden (MGS) got, even in early 00s. At least you could argue Raiden wasn’t manly badass like Snake. What does Tidus do worse than the other FF MCs? Only maybe Cecil was manlier than him and he isn’t any whinier than the other MCs given the predicaments he faces.
Tidus isn't even close to the worst. At least he's not some bland self insert like half the other JRPG protagonists out there. Sure he's whiny and annoying at times, but he actually has an interesting story with good character development if you pay attention, more than you can say for a lot of RPGs with "generic hero saves the world" plots. Tidus is fine, he's no cloud-level classic, but he gets way more hate than he deserves.
So Auron’s 35 yo look wasn’t how he looked at an older age but him changing his appearance to how he thought he would look at that age right? Unsent don’t age (Yunalesca, that summoner lady that trains you)
>had a job and a good head on his shoulders >was able to make things work despite parents >strong conviction >hard working >listened to his elders and took on the lessons they were trying to teach him >learned from his mistakes and displayed growth >didn't put anyone in the party down and always tried to keep a positive outlook
Rex was a great protagonist
>Crusader kid asks about joining the fight on the frontlines >Yeah just fight on the frontlines and endanger your life kid xD >Yuna will die if they complete the pilgrimage >Not le heckin Yunarino NOOOOO
I'm actually playing through FFX for the first time myself on my vita. I'm not too terribly far in yet but I like the whole "Another World" vibe I'm getting from the setting. Wakka is maximum bro. I hope Yuna fricking DIES. I'm undecided on whether or not I like Teedus, because it makes sense that he would be a total meathead. He was a sports king back in his own world, so naturally he's plucky and charismatic, but the overall ethos of the world has changed so his usual charms are appealing to a crowd that just isn't there. I guess his strengths are supposed to be that despite everything happening he's still willing to keep smiling? On the other hand I wish he would stop talking.
I'm still loosely holding onto hope for a FFX-3 which loosely takes the class system from 2 and you play as Jecht Auron and Braska going on manly adventures and saving the whole face of the X series.
>the novel shit
Oh my GOD I forgot about that trainwreck. Okay now I'm back to no faith. I'll just write a fanfic and be done with it. It couldn't be any worse than that piece of shit.
Tidus is beliavable character and way he reacts to everything in the story makes sense. He probably sees himself in Yuna as Yuna is the celebrity in Spira, just like he was in drram zanarkand
>Is he the worst protagonist in the history of jrpgs?
no because you have people like:
Edge Maverick - Star Ocean 4
Noctis - FFXV
Alfre "Frey" Holland - Forspoken
Rush Sykes - Last Remnant
Squall in the 2nd half of FFVIII
>Complete wuss in early game >Tells bald homosexual priest to go frick himself >Steals random dude’s binoculars like a boss and uses it to oogle Lulu’s breasts >Motivates Wakka and friends for the match >Tells homosexual Luca team they will win the match
Nah he’s based early game
That's a cute opinion, did a youtuber give it to you?
That's an original comment, did reddit give it to you?
He's ok. Not telling anyone killing Sin would also kill him until the last minute is pretty cool.
He didn't know himself until the end and it wasn't killing Sin, it was permanently ending all the Fayths so Yu Yevon could never possess another Aeon's body to start all over again.
Didn’t Auron know since the beginning.
Yeah, Auron likely knew the party would reject Yunalesca’s offer too.
Speaking of Auron, why did only Spergdus realize he was an unsent?
Auron didn't know about Yu Yevon, as far as he was aware the Final Aeon becoming Sin was just part of Sin's bullshit
>it wasn't killing Sin, it was permanently ending all the Fayths so Yu Yevon could never possess another Aeon's body to start all over again
is something unclear
Squall up until the last few minutes of VIII.
He's not even close to worst FF protags
Overdrives are kinda blandyish. Blitz ace is coo
no, there is squall
not the worst ff protag
not the worst jrpg protag
>22 years later and the laugh scene is still filtering morons
Yes. I'm generally filtered by bad games and characters. Prevents my from buying garbage like FFX
>He didn't even play the game and just watched the out of context laugh on youtube
As expected of people who get their opinions from youtube and don't actually play games.
You sound like a massive homosexual
All the protags post VI are bad
The worst post VI protagonist is still better than Terra
He might actually be the best non silent
Tidus is a strong contender for best FF protagonist though.

justify it better
yes, they are just gaslighting. He's also a dream construct projection of a jock himbo with daddy issues so he was never "killed" as he was never alive in the first place. He's not real. Which is what explains why he's so inept and sporadic in Spira.
ThiS is MY STORY
>doesn’t start off as turbo superchad
None of the FF protagonists do. In fact, Tidus is the closest to this archetype as he is a popular sports player.
>remake
X has a lot of problems but Tidus isn't one of them. He's a great protagonist.
No thats Zidane
Tidus unironically has a better personality and arc than 90% of all other FF protagonists. Stay mad
Not at all.
He's pretty good.
He's a bit autistic the first 2 hours because he thinks he's in a different world and people don't even speak the same language.
But he's definitely one of the better FF protagonists.
Zidane is basically scientifically, quantifiably the worst and it's not even close.
Zidane’s backstory is moronic but he’s still interesting
I never understood the hate this kid or Raiden (MGS) got, even in early 00s. At least you could argue Raiden wasn’t manly badass like Snake. What does Tidus do worse than the other FF MCs? I liked him well enough and he went out great (ignore the short story)
you literally just watched the out of context laugh scene and have never played the game, i guarantee it
So Auron’s 35 yo look wasn’t how he looked at an older age but him changing his appearance to how he thought he would look at that age right? Unsent don’t age (Yunalesca, that summoner lady that trains you)
you're thinking harder than the writers about this
It has soon been 22 years since we last had a good final fantasy game come out.
I count 18, dumb frogposter.
No.
Jacks game was 2022
No that would be Rex until XB3
>had a job and a good head on his shoulders
>was able to make things work despite parents
>strong conviction
>hard working
>listened to his elders and took on the lessons they were trying to teach him
>learned from his mistakes and displayed growth

>Crusader kid asks about joining the fight on the frontlines

>Yuna will die if they complete the pilgrimage

>is actively comitting suicide
That kid was a homosexual, Yuna is a cute grill. Tidus did nothing wrong
That would be Squall aka the massive homosexual
I'm actually playing through FFX for the first time myself on my vita. I'm not too terribly far in yet but I like the whole "Another World" vibe I'm getting from the setting. Wakka is maximum bro. The story should've been Brahska's journey. It would've made for a better game
I'm still loosely holding onto hope for a FFX-3 which loosely takes the class system from 2 and you play as Jecht Auron and Braska going on manly adventures and saving the whole face of the X series.
You have more faith than me. If there's a FFX-3, I'm certain its gonna be the novel shit
>the novel shit
Oh my GOD I forgot about that trainwreck. Okay now I'm back to no faith. I'll just write a fanfic and be done with it. It couldn't be any worse than that piece of shit.
vaan is a basically a non character so he's worse.
Vaan was the player pov. Baltier was the real protagonist. That's why Vaan is so shit as a protagonist
Tidus is the player POV and he's still a character in the plot
Tidus is also the main character
The main characyer of 12 was supposed to be Ashe but a female lead tested poorly in Japan so they shoehorned Vaan in there to give us another twink.
Souce: My ass
Tidus is beliavable character and way he reacts to everything in the story makes sense. He probably sees himself in Yuna as Yuna is the celebrity in Spira, just like he was in drram zanarkand
>Yuna is the celebrity in Spira, just like he was in drram zanarkand
Frick I never pieced that together.
Is Ganker just zoomers now?
I haven't read a single authentic post from Ganker for years.
ramza is the best main character in any final fantasy games.
Ramza himself is a little bland
>actually he was just acting in that cut scene
forgot pic
Forgot to not be a moron too
>Tidus
>Squall
>Luke from ToA
>Neku from TWEWY
Are some of the best JRPG protagonists. Only low IQ people hate characters with actual character arcs.
ahem
>Is he the worst protagonist in the history of jrpgs?
no because you have people like:
Edge Maverick - Star Ocean 4
Noctis - FFXV
Alfre "Frey" Holland - Forspoken
Rush Sykes - Last Remnant
Squall in the 2nd half of FFVIII
that exist
Probably Zidane. He's whole personality is do whatever and nothing bad will ever happen.
you should probably play the game first anon
You should play more vidya
I like him
he's actually pretty based later in the game
starts out as a complete wuss tho
>Complete wuss in early game
>Tells bald homosexual priest to go frick himself
>Steals random dude’s binoculars like a boss and uses it to oogle Lulu’s breasts
>Motivates Wakka and friends for the match
>Tells homosexual Luca team they will win the match
Nah he’s based early game
